Writing this as I stand in line, on a busy Friday evening, with only 1 window open... Both the line and wait time is completely ridiculous.

Well when I passed my package over to Ms Mayo, she told.me the label I made THE DAY BEFORE for an express package was invalid. Mind you I spend thousands on express shipping and have ever had a problem I usually make labels for everything and drop them off the next day or if I'm at the downtown location in the evening She told me I would need a new label, which makes absolutely no sense. Once the package gets scanned and accepted that's when the "1 day express" shipping begins, not when I make the label USPS you really need to train your staff to know updated rules and not just make stuff up on the spot. I'm on my fourth post office because the next one I went to was CLOSED (the weather is not that bad). I'm very over the staff, having never had to pay for postage, telling me made up rules and making what is supposed to be convenient more of a hassle.

It's very peaceful and warm inside, using the self service kiosk was easy as well. The employees inside were quick to take the package after I printed out the label. In total I was in and out within 3mins. It's been my to go spot to ship last minute items.

I had a PO Box at this Post Office... "had" being the operative term…read more Packages at my building were getting stolen at an alarming rate. Thus, I decided to get a PO Box so my merchandise could be stored in a secure, government building. Plus, I really loved that they have incredible hours, being open until midnight Monday through Friday, and late into the evening on Saturday and Sunday. Alas, this is the only good thing; everything else has been one issue after another. There was a major issue of packages seemingly not being delivered. I would see the tracking notification stating it was, but no 'package waiting' slip in the mailbox. I would bring this to the staff... some of whom checked in the back, while others stated that if there was no slip, it was still moving through the building. After this repeated enough times that some of the staff remembered me, and after I said "the only thing there is the cardboard on the back," he realized that the PO Box was effectively marked as vacant. Uh oh. It was removed, and I thought it would be uphill from there. Nope, there was a further issue. But first, a quick note about Street Addressing. PO Boxes at this Post Office come with Street Addressing, a service where your PO Box comes with a real street address. In trying to find out what this address was, most of the staffers had no clue what I was talking about. I eventually learned what it should actually be from a poster in the hall. Once I knew this from an official USPS source, and the "vacant" sign was removed, I ordered an item to that street address. The UPS tracking showed it as being delivered to the Post Office. However, the package was nowhere to be found. It ended up being a whole lot of finger-pointing, with the package seemingly being swallowed by The Void. After this, I decided it was time to close the PO Box. It was unable to fulfill the function I needed it to, and this is in large part due to negligence (i.e., not taking proper care) by this USPS. Final nail in the coffin: the number of letters that get lost, and the delays if they don't (about a month), are beyond unacceptable.

I only found out recently, as I had gone into the Starbucks to dispose of a coffee cup from another, nearby Starbucks (true story). There was one customer at the counter and another standing in line in front of me. The customer at the counter appeared to have a complex inquiry, but it was nothing that got heated. The customer standing in line was able to make use of one of the post office boxes mounted on the wall, so I catapulted right to the front. Despite the fact that there was only one postal worker at the counter, I was able to get my package mailed quickly and efficiently. I was provided a receipt with tracking info, and the package was delivered as promised. Definitely will be coming back here for routine postal matters so that I do not have to brave the Loop location that can at times be Kafkaesque.

UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc. attempt to fit whatever they can into the box, but this lazy mail carrier (once again another terrible female staffer) refuses to even come up the steps to drop off packages. She drops them off at the bottom of the steps (literally two steps then 3 feet to the package box,) blocking off the entire pathway for other delivery drivers who have to climb over the packages she "delivers" just to deliver their packages properly. The UPS driver just shakes his head when he sees how she delivers things. Not to mention she attempts to carry mail in one hand and a package in the other which has resulted in several boxes coming open as she holds them improperly so the tape breaks...leaving the package wide open. It's crazy because when she has regular mail she walks the 3 feet necessary to deliver the mail to the mailbox which is literally RIGHT ABOVE THE PACKAGE BOX. Just completely lazy and incompetent. At least she doesn't talk crap to the camera, but I know why...it unfortunately happened...one of these girls got killed recently which seems to have scared the rest of the girls that were acting like thugs previously. People have been warning them for years and the manager never did anything so a lot of this has to be on them!
