Using the services of the USPS is something we all live with and count on. The personnel have always been courteous and respectful and friendly. I have interacted with many employees. Some have retired and new ones have come on the scene. Homer and Erin are both dedicated and knowledgeable of their responsibilities. I always get a smile and attentive service. They are the best. Whenever I visit, I always leave singing " 16 Candles " and I just don't know why!

The parking lot set up is awful, especially since no one in Suffolk seems to know how to drive or park in parking lots. Now counter employees- one lady is very nice. The two old men however - Andy and I forgot the other old man's name - let's just say his voice and personality is like that of Bert from Sesame Street - these two old men are creeps - Andy especially. Very, very rude. Each time I been in there and got stuck with him, he would make rude jokes about my business name, one day when I finally had enough of it, I smiled and corrected him for this - explaining the pronunciation of it correctly and why it has that name. His response was "oh i know i was only joking" - the other old man was helping him this particular day and he gave me a dirty look. I had 20 packages going out that day, all over the nation - every single package arrived to the recipients badly damaged - considering they went to 20 different locations in the USA - I know exactly where it started - and I'm certain it was these two old men who done it. Post Master took a report, but I refused to go back there - been going to the Selden Post Office - never a problem and all employees are very nice. Fast forward three years - I didn't have time to go to the post office, placed two small packages inside my mailbox for pick up - post office being, of course Farmingville - the packages were two small bubble mailers, light weight, well wrapped, under 2 ounces each and shipped via ground advantage. Two weeks after shipping, still haven't arrived to their destinations (two different states) - I get an email from my shipping service stating the USPS - - my local post office repackaged both packages in flat rate envelopes and up charged me $8 each because that also changes shipping class to priority...I call - Post Master isn't available and never called back. Two days go by, both recipients finally received items - inside these flat rates is the original bubble mailers - which appeared to have been cut open with scissors, items shipped inside were not inside, now my clients are fighting the USPS on their end as well, I finally speak directly to someone from the Farmingville post office about the situation, who said the packages were likely damaged so they repackaged them - here's the thing - besides the fact that one of of their employees cut open the packages, even if they were legit damaged- that doesn't give them the right to up charge me for their negligence, actually it means they owe me money - but now they owe me money and they also owe my clients the full value of the items they stole. Learned my lesson - will only ship packages with Selden Post Office. The only reason I gave two stars instead of just one is because my mail carriers who deliver are usually very nice.

I was on line at the Islip Terrace post office. When the woman in front of me got to the counter,…read morethe clerk threw her hands in the air and came running out front to give her a big hug. When the other clerk asked what was going on, the first clerk told her that this woman was going back home to Colombia tomorrow. I commented out loud that the service in this place was amazing. Then the second clerk came around and hugged the woman. On her way back behind the counter, she gave me a hug as well saying she didn't want me to feel left out. Then when the Colombian woman finished her transaction, she gave me a hug also. Five stars.

There is never a line when I come here. Usually 1 or 2 people ahead of me with only 1 person behind…read morethe counter. Staff is okay. Parking can be a bit tight. Street or you can pull up in front. They are very strict with rules. Such as not accepting credit cards without a signature.

For those wanting to know what happens the first day.....JURY DUTY…read more Easy to find. Plenty of free parking on property. Entrance to courthouse on side of building by road. You go through security, make a right and signs on door display "Jury Room". I went from parking lot to filling out the 2 forms in the jury room in a matter of 5 minutes. From this point it's hurry up and wait. You may be there a full day 9:30 til 4:00, or a half day 9:30 til noon. If you are there a full day, chances are you will be picked for duty.....and may be there for days. They selected enough potential jurors before they got to me so I was let go at noon. Lucky. Out of about 60 people, there were only 6 left who were let go, me being one of them. The remaining take lunch, come back at 2:00 and proceed til 4. Not sure what their fate will be, but I really don't care.

I thought after checking in online for Jury Duty after 4 consecutive nights I was done but instead…read moreI was directed to go to the Supreme Court Building in Riverhead in the morning for 9:30 . I have done Jury Duty many,many times at the Criminal Courts but this was my first time here .On arrival it's the usual, go through the metal detector, get your belongings scanned, fill out some forms and go sit and wait. The employees are very friendly and helpful and they explain to everyone what the day will entail and we all watch an orientation film which helps the time go by a little faster . There is a small cafe where you can grab a bite and a coffee , it's clean and the girl at the counter is very friendly . They do have WIFi so that helps , you can use your phone and I-Pad .I also brought along a book , but for me it was a little difficult to concentrate with the TV on and people talking .By 10:00 Two groups of people were called to be interviewed with the lawyers and the rest of us continued to wait . The time seemed to go by quickly and at around 12:30 we were all told they had selected all the jurors they needed and we were all free to go. I was expecting to have to endure a long boring day but it was a nice surprise for everyone . So , all in all I had a much better experience than I've had in the past. Civic duty done!
