Terrible and Unprofessional Service USPS in Upper Marlboro has been incredibly frustrating. I was expecting packages today that were too large for my mailbox, but instead of delivering them to my door, the carrier marked my address as "vacant" and returned the items to sender. I literally saw the carrier in my neighborhood. After calling customer service, I was told this particular carrier marks mail as "vacant" if people don't check their mailboxes frequently. That's absurd and unprofessional. Now I have to wait another day for redelivery, all because of laziness or personal assumptions. Completely unacceptable. read more

Despite living in the area for over 20 years, this was my first time visiting this post office. It's an older building, so it was a little chilly inside. It's also small. Three windows were open and i was out in 20 minutes, despite the line ahead of me. The rep I had was very nice and friendly. I would return. read more

I'm not certain as to what will get this post office to deliver your package correctly however I have to call this post office at least once a week to get them to have the person come back out to give me my packages. I'm not sure exactly as to what the actual Supervisors do because nothing changes after they "talk to the carrier". Once again today another misdelivered package smh. read more

This post office can't get pre-scheduled package pickups right to save their souls. Doesn't matter if I schedule the pickup the day before or a week before. The package will sit outside my house multiple days in a row. And I usually have to call them about it before they'll deign themselves to complete the pickup. I'm not talking about once in a while. I mean *every* time I have a package pickup scheduled. (Once or twice per month for over a year.) They have the temerity to blame it on "the system", but I've used this service for several years now in multiple cities and in different states, and I *never* had a problem like this until i moved to Upper Marlboro. So, Upper Marlboro Post Office, tell me again how this is a USPS system issue and not a *you* issue! I hate this post office. FYI TO YOU ALL- This has happened to me multiple times. The post office says due to Covid they cannot physically hand you a package, totally understand that. HOWEVER, they should be knocking at your door or at least ring the bell, leave your package there and roll out. This lazy worker neither knocked or rang a bell. Instead, I got a sticker saying sorry we missed you and a notification that my package was at the post office and needed to be retrieved. Y'all need to stop being lazy. Carrier service is TRASH! I received 10 pieces of mail none belonging in my mailbox and I'm still waiting on mail that was scanned in informed delivery at the beginning of the month, which I can only assume someone else got mine. We depend on these carriers to be accurate in their services. This is how we pay bills, receive bills etc and one careless act can change that. Never in my life have I lost trust in the post office. I moved to a new community and BECAUSE of this post office, I want to sell my house. It is an ongoing issue. EVERYDAY (and I'm not exaggerating) EVERYDAY, I get other peoples mail, my packages are lost and they say they are delivered, and I just don't know what to do. - Who can handle this any higher after speaking to management? I am so frustrated I am exhausted. The city of PG county needs to do something. SERIOUSLY anyone reading this needs to do something about this post office. Customer service rep was so RUDE and unprofessional. When she first picked up all she said was "Hello" then hurriedly said "Hello upper Marlboro". I began to ask why my package said it was delivered and she cut me off before I could finish saying I'll have to call back tomorrow because they're not open to the public today all they're doing is delivering packages and nobody is there to answer my question. Their internal office employee services aren't bad, and its sad their carriers are what's brought me here. On numerous occasions packages coming from this office claim to be delivered or an attempt was made although there wasn't any attempt or actual delivery. When we've gone into the facility to complain about it or claim our packages, mysteriously they aren't there or out on the vehicle for delivery. Items would show days later opened and retapped. This issue forced my wife and I to get a door security camera that captures the mailbox to the door bell. On one occasion (a Friday) we recorded a female carrier massaging a package my wife was expecting from a clothing store. She doesn't put it in the mailbox or ring the door bell then she leaves. My wife checks the tracking number, it says "an attempt was made" reschedule the delivery. My wife calls to complain, they can't find the package, they don't know who the carrier was, but will investigate. Three days later the item shows up opened and wreaking of pits and cheap perfume. This Saturday I was working in my garage replacing the brakes on my wife's truck. I was expecting a delivery from this office since the tracking number stated "out for delivery", around 1220 as I stood in my garage, the USPS driver pulls up to my mailbox puts something in the drives off all of 4-6 seconds. At 1245, I cleaned up, put away my tools then checked the box.. It was a pink notice stating "Sorry we missed you, an attempt was made to deliver" -- I immediately called the USPS office, the rep states after I explicitly explained the situation, "oh wow, I'll call the carrier and have them return". Of course this doesn't happen, I call back now the Supervisors are out but let me get your number they will call you back; 1:30 rolls by no calls, I call back, and of course the Supervisors are still out. The next stop for me right pass this office is a letter to the Postmaster!! Perhaps she can get answers this office can't seem to provide. read more

This is the WORST post office that employs some of the WORST carriers I have ever experienced in my life. After moving to Upper Marlboro 3 years ago, we have encountered NOTHING but unpleasant experiences with this office and the carriers. Packages are coming up missing, possibly STOLEN by the carriers themselves. I have had them frequently tracked as delivered, only to show up days later. The Post Office (PO) and the Post Master DO NOT CARE as I have complained in person at the office NUMEROUS times. After being on top of a lazy and thieving carrier for about a week, she retaliated by ripping open one of my packages and I WATCHED HER LEAVE IT AT MY HOUSE (she tried to prop it against the door so the damage wasn't visible from the drive/street). I contacted the Inspector General the same day. Amazon has informed me they will NO LONGER be using USPS in UM due to this issue. I just spoke with someone from the PO on the phone (wouldn't transfer me to the Post Master as he was "in a meeting") but will "look for my package" for me. I wanted to update my review, specifically for the carriers. I know this location gets a lot of flack, which is why I want to highlight what they do well. I've been in a new development for about three years now and I will say that the carriers have delivered every package rain, sleet, and snow. They work hard and have done an amazing job during the pandemic. They don't always mark when an item is delivered (and due to this, I thought I hadn't received a package but actually did so it was my oversight), and customer service called to follow up with me regarding the inquiry. The USPS has been put through the ringer lately, and I just want to note that the carriers are amazing. I'm still not that fond of the physical location (and still wish that petty ass lady a bout of explosive diarrhea in the most inconvenient place possible), but they haven't caused me any issue and I appreciate the employees that do this work day in and day out. read more

What a mess! For more than four years now, I continue to get mail despite my Mail Hold Requests. Contacted the Post Office each time only to hear ANOTHER excuse. Just yesterday, they were delivering a package despite the Hold and assured me that they were holding all mail until Monday. WELL, my Family Member went to check my mailbox and it was loaded with all of the supposedly mail that was being held. Useless! Spoke to the PostMaster several tiand he is also a waste of time. None of them need jobs at this Post Office, they lack common sense and give Government workers a bad name! 10/16/18 This place is a CIRCUS! Now, they lost a Certified/Return Receipt letter that was going from Maryland to DC. The estimated delivery date was 10/03/18 and they don't want to refund my money--WRONG! They need to shut this place down! 10/23/18 Well, after many calls and lost days, the Certified/Return Receipt letter finally appeared back at my house. These people can't deliver mail! Told me the addressee was unknown so I delivered the letter to the person myself. It is very hard to reach anyone on the phone except Inspections and when you get someone on the phone, they are clueless. I am done with the United States Postal Service! read more

I wish I could give them no stars. I am in Croom/Upper Marlboro. Our place is off the road. The mail carrier refuses to bring packages to our house even though UPS and Fedex always do. She left a computer out in the rain although it didn't matter because it was never found. I spent 1-1/2 hours in the post office trying to get help only to be told to contact the sender. The next time I'm going to take my own chair - if you have to go there for any sort of customer service I suggest you take a chair with you. I asked them to please put packages on my porch rather than the SIDE of the ROAD (our box is about two feet from the side of the road) but they left my protein drink mix on the side of the road to be stolen/taken/whatever. I am wondering how many people are having this type of problem with this branch. It would seem to me they have no proof they ever delivered any of these packages. They can say they did and there seems to be no recourse. The postmaster doesn't seem to care one bit. read more

Is it poor training or the inability of this Post Office's carriers to read? Three times in less than a year I have received email notices that a package was delivered at my address when it wasn't. In two of the instances packages showed up a couple of days after alleged delivery date; however the time passed in connection this latest non-delivery has been over a week. Very frustrating to expect a delivery and even more irritating to be told that delivery was made when it wasn't. In addition the customer line at this particular location is always long because there is usually only one or two agents available to handle patrons. You'd think that given the push to privatize the post office its personnel would bend over backwards to deliver commendable services as they may find themselves out of job or wind up contract employees with substantially reduced benefits. read more

My amazon packages aren't being delivered because USPS isn't doing its job!! In one week I've had two orders never arrive at my residence. All get is an email saying there was a problem delivering or unable to access residence. I live in a house with a driveway and no fence. There is absolutely no excuse for failed delivery attempts. What makes matters worse is there isn't an attempt to deliver packages. My security camera doesn't show USPS pulling up. This post office needs to be investigated by the Office of inspector general. Multiple carriers are opening packages,scanning packages and not delivering them and delivering packages to the wrong address. There needs to be clean up of this post office and fast. Customers are loosing money and being subject to poor customer service, and the post master will not perform or take any actions on the staff. No one should have to be concerned or monitor their mail (daily) due to incompetent postal carriers. read more

DO NOT PLACE YOUR MAIL IN THE MAILBOX AT THIS LOCATION. I placed my car note payment into the drive up mailbox and my mail was stolen. The thief stole my mail, created a fake check, used my name, address, and bank information from the check I had written for my car note payment, walked into Suntrust bank, cashed a check in the amount of $1,160.00. I reported this to the USPS fraud department. When I attempted to place a police report at the Bowie police station, I was informed that I was the third person this week that had reported that their checks were stolen out of the Upper Marlboro USPS station. Ugh...First of all almost every other package, we have been delivered we get a pink slip saying "sorry we missed you". Granted my house is back on a farm road and our mailbox is at the front of the road, but we have a big packages box to put them in. If the package is too big, usually they get soaked when it rains as they don't put them in those plastic bags. If the package requires a signature? FORGET IT guaranteed pink slip. Our old mail carrier would come to the house (not that far down the farm road) and get the signature. But whoever is delivering our mail now keeps leaving pink slips. I go online and request a redelivery after getting frustrated being on hold for hours when trying to call. I specifically put in the directions for redelivery "If a signature is required come to the house" but still get another pink slip the next day. I have literally been trying to get a WALL CLOCK delivered since July 11th because apparently, it needs a signature. I have filled out the online form 6 times now and have made ten times the amount of phone calls. Another thing that is annoying, the parcel number they write on there is almost completely illegible. Luckily I have worked with doctors and can read most handwriting otherwise I would have been lost. Other times (regarding my clock) they apparently put the wrong tracing number because it shows nothing when I try to do redelivery. VERY frustrated and disappointed. Why cant I just switch to the post office 2 minutes down the road from me in Davidsonville? I am about to get a po box there just to avoid this place... read more

I ordered two packages from Amazon. The carrier put int he system that it had been delivered. I never received it. So I call my local Post Office and spoke to a Supervisor. It seems that the carrier can't read or something as my package was delivered to a home down the street. My address isn't similar. You would think that the person at that house would knock on my door and return it but hey we know the hearts of people today is cold. It's sort of like stealing because you received something that you didn't order nor pay for. The Supervisor said he would have the carrier retrieve the package. Good luck with that. For now on, I will intercept the tracking number and pick up my packages. Not sure who is hiring carriers but I guess reading isn't fundamental. read more

I have had many packages delivered with my current postal delivery person. When raining the packages are soaked! She NEVER puts them in plastic bags nor attempts to put them under some sort of shelter. I also have received NUMEROUS mail delivery notifications that HAVE NOT been delivered. Not to mention the number of mis-delivered items that we deliver to the proper address... She is horrible and needs to put a bit more care in our service. The person before her was wonderful. Visited Upr Marl Main Post Office on morning of 9/1/18 to pick up two packages (sender tracking info said I had requested one to be held at PO and the other indicated delivery incomplete, no response at residence , available at PO - two completely false statements. No packages at PO; staff promised to contact me as soon as my carrier returned their call. I also asked why I had not received mail (incl ads, flyers, letters, etc) the entire week. PO staff couldn't provide any explanation. Later, I talked with several neighbors who also had not received mail during the week. What is the carrier during with the mail and why can't PO staff check their internal system to locate pkgs shipped with tracking number. They don't appear to be the least bit interested in doing something other than providing a pacifying response of "checking with carrier and will get right back to you." It's Sunday night and I'm still waiting for a call from PO or my mail including the elusive two packages. read more
