Bad experience, went in for suspicious lump under (r) breast, Dr. didn't have "chaperone" in room and proceeded to examine breasts w/o gloves nor any normal procedure when doing this type of exam. Sadly to report that I a long time patient of this Practice will be leaving because and I want it understood it is because: 1. Ongoing Billing Company Problems that are obtained/contracted/hired by this Practice. Also when addressing the problem with the Dr. Office you are requested to contact Billing at 865 670 6757, and when you contact them you are referred to contact a Nurse at the Dr. Office or even the Dr. to straighten up the mess, and then when you call to schedule a convenient time you are turned over to Office Manager, who is already aware of the problem because I am assuming communication between the Billing Company and herself, and of course Codes cannot be changed once in the system so the Patient is just Stuck and blame is placed on the Patient for not verbally letting the Office know whether it was a Sick Visit etc. Months upon Months of Aggravation, when on previous visits for the same Lab Work and Visits to see the Physician/Nurse Practitioner, no problem with Insurance Carriers only that the Second Carrier is usually never billed and with phone call that usually takes care of that! Never once was I ever told as a Patient that I had to Verbally do or say anything! Nor have I ever heard a Patient waiting in the Waiting Room ever do so!! Is change new and now and why are we not informed of changes! 2. The Patient has to inform the Receptionist at time of service or end of service on what they believe the visit is for or was for, for instance: Well Check, Sick Check, Pre Existing, etc. when making a new apt for follow up or for visiting the Doctor to make sure that this Facility collects the funds from Insurance Carriers the right way using the right codes. I believe that that should be on the paper that leaves with you from the exam room wrote by your attending physician as to what the next visit scheduling is for! Patient Confidentiality flies out the window on this one would seem to me! Elderly do not have a chance with this unless they are Mentally able to know exactly what is and was not! I want it very clear that I do know the difference on how many Well Visits that are allowable during a calendar year to your Physician per your Insurance Carriers. Patients should not have to worry themselves if the recordings are correct or incorrect upon arriving or leaving the Physicians Office and expressing so with verbal explanation on what transpired in the Exam Room! We are paying them for a Service! You are the Provider of Service! I would even hate to imagine what an Elderly/Handicapped person would do if they could not express themselves! I would assume they just go ahead and pay the charges whether it is right or wrong!! So Sad! 3. I love my Doctor and trust her and wish her the best of best and have no problem with the staff but when a mistake is made in coding it should never fall upon a patient, it should fall into the lap of the person doing the coding and typing it into the Computer! 4. When the Billing Company is calling a Patient to discuss whatever you should have to tell where and who you are calling from and who! Not misleading the Patient to believing you are in the Physicians Office making the Phone Call! And when a Patient has multiple Insurance Carriers, check and file with both Insurance Carriers first!!!! And never respond when addressed to misleading the Patient with a Response as: "What doe's it matter!" It matters to the patient in which you are addressing! Especially to an Elderly or Handicapped Person receiving the Phone Call! Like I said, I am saddened to leave my Doctor! Hard and few good ones to find in this area but Office Management needs change and "Buyer Beware," needs to be in place! read more
