In May 2022, I had a facelift by Dr. Thompson at Utah Facial Plastics in Draper Utah. It was a really horrible experience. Swelling was terrible and they never said to put cool packs on my face. In fact, they said not to. Afterwards, I have found that that would have helped. The bigger problem is shown in the photos. On my left eye he did something horribly wrong and you can see from the other photo that I never had this pulling/puckering on that side until after the surgery. I waited a year and went back and he was like what's the problem? He did at least note on the photos that I didn't have that Before but brushed it off and told me to get Botox, but that of course didn't help at all. One side of my eye looks like natural wrinkles, but the other aisle looks very weird. It's like he pulled some muscle too tight right through that spot But wouldn't know up to it.I would definitely not go to him and wish I hadn't. Looks terrible. They do not care whether their clients are happy, only whether they've been paid. I initially came here for a rhinoplasty consultation and immediately felt dismissed. My concerns were brushed off, and it was painfully obvious that I was being viewed as a dollar sign rather than a patient. Thankfully, I trusted my instincts and did not move forward with surgery here. Unfortunately, my husband did. He paid $11,300 for a hair transplant at Utah Facial Plastics, only to be left with an uneven + unnatural hairlin. Oh, and just the other day he was asked if he had ever looked into a hair transplant, which tells you how much it didn't improve. Today was his one-year follow-up. Instead of taking responsibility, he was told: "If we did a second transplant, it would just look like it does on top." That is not the problem, Dr. Thompson. The problem is that you took $11,300 and gave someone a bad hairline, then spent a year deflecting his concerns instead of addressing a clearly subpar result. REVIEW FOR DR. THOMPSON: I received a hair transplant on February 4th, 2025. I PAID $11,300 for this hair transplant. Upon my follow up 1 year later, I expressed dissatisfaction with the result, mainly the thickness, and the desire to bring the hairline down on the widows peak 1/2 inch. Dr. Thompson tried to gaslight me into thinking it would look fine if I grew it out. I disagreed, but there was no attempt to mitigate the situation. There was no offer to do anything to fix it unless I paid even more money. Equally concerning: no post-procedure photos were taken at my follow up. I explicitly noted that no "after" photos had been done, and Dr. Thompson showed no interest in documenting the result. If this outcome were something he stood behind, I would expect him to want to showcase it. The lack of documentation speaks volumes to me. The before photo is from February of 2025, the after photo is from January 2026, 11 months later. The same week I took the after photo, I was having a conversation about hairloss and mentioned nothing about having had a hair transplant. Several people asked me during that conversation if I had thought about having a hair transplant, which made me feel pretty embarrassed. I had a rhinoplasty with Dr. Thompson. We discussed what was needed and the likely results. The day of surgery, he came in and I had to remind him of what we had discussed! It is now over 19 months since my surgery and there is almost no difference pre and post. We talked about making a significant change and he did not follow through. As patients, we all inherently assume some level of risk whenever we decide to undergo any cosmetic procedure, whether surgical or nonsurgical. Ideally, in such cases, where the risks become the reality, providers are able to handle complications with timely, capable, and compassionate care. Unfortunately, that was not my experience when I developed painful complications after receiving dermal fillers at Utah Facial Plastics. In late August of 2021, I requested that Dr. Scott Thompson inject filler into my right zygomatic (cheek) area in efforts of achieving a more balanced facial appearance. Immediately afterwards, I developed extreme pain in the injected area and the chronic inability to fully open my mouth (trismus). My right jaw joint began popping in and out of place and, within a day, it could no longer open to its normal maximum opening. The pain in the injected area became more intense with chewing, talking, and smiling, and eventually became so debilitating that I could no longer talk for extended periods of time or eat solid foods. About three weeks after the injection, in September of 2021, I sought help from Utah Facial Plastics and from Dr. Thompson, but was informed that he was on a medical trip outside of the country until October. In the meantime, I was deferred to other injectors and surgeons at UFP - Alfie and Dr. Henstrom. Dr. Henstrom insisted that it couldn't be the filler and advised me to take a therapeutic (high and extended) dose of ibuprofen. He suggested that it must be a separate TMJ issue, despite the fact that I had never experienced TMJ issues before and that the symptoms had come on suddenly and acutely immediately following the filler injection. I saw Alfie twice - the first time she suggested taking prednisone to resolve any lingering inflammation, but I declined. The second time I saw her, I was so desperate for relief that I decided to take the prednisone, only to experience extreme insomnia and no long-term relief from symptoms. I also reached out to Jeanna via her Instagram account for advice since she had previously injected my lips, but she insisted that I work with my original injector, Dr. Thompson. I later discovered that she refuses to book me for any further appointments. When I was finally able to meet with Dr. Thompson in October of 2021, he said that he could try dissolving the filler, but then said that he could not remember where he had injected it. And that his notes only said "cheek". Feeling totally failed by Utah Facial Plastics, and in debilitating pain, I decided to seek help from an injector at a different practice, who specialized in ultrasound-guided filler dissolving. I also sought help from an ENT with University of Utah Health, who ordered an ultrasound of the area, which showed that filler had been injected directly in/surrounding a facial nerve. After two ultrasound-guided dissolving sessions with the outside (non UFP) injector, the filler was dissolved and the pain in the injected area dissipated. However, the jaw joint issues (trismus, pain) had persisted and worsened. In November 2021, I returned to Dr. Thompson and reported the continuing symptoms to him. I asked him for help, and he performed additional dissolving sessions. Regardless, the issues remained unresolved, and I made the decision to seek professional medical help from an Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon. In early 2022, I travelled out of state to undergo bilateral TMJ arthroscopic surgery with a specialist. The surgery was partially successful, but, in late 2024, the joint condition worsened and developed osteoarthritis, to the point of needing complete jaw joint replacement with a prosthetic joint. In reflecting upon the facts of what took place in 2021, I am dissatisfied and disappointed with the poor level of aftercare that I experienced at Utah Facial Plastics. Until just recently, I had continued to visit Dr. Thompson for forehead Botox treatments. However, in contemplating how I was and have been treated at UFP, I finally decided it would be best to take my business elsewhere and write this review. My story is an extreme one, but if you take anything from it, let it be to please be careful in deciding who you let inject you. I found out the hard way that, when something goes wrong, there is very little support available outside of your original injector. In my experience, few medical professionals are willing to take on the liability of trying to help, and those that are willing are very expensive. Make sure that whoever injects you has proven that they are equipped to help you deal with complications in a timely, capable, and compassionate manner. In summary, I would not recommend UFP for injectables. read more

First timer for lip fillers and first time at UFP. I am raving about this place and my amazing nurse, Kayla! Everyone I had an encounter with at UFP Awas super sweet. Kayla went over the lip injection procedure and healing process with me, along with the possible side effects. She was very detailed and when I explained what I wanted to acheive, she was able to go over what product would be best for my lips and I trusted her 100% -- She did such a fantastic job! An expensive and terrible rhinoplasty revision. I had an initial rhinoplasty that left me with breathing issues. Dr. Manning said he was able to correct the breathing, which he did, while leaving me with an extremely oversized nose. Upon cast removal I expressed concerns about the size of the nose, which he attributed to swelling. At seven months I still have a potato for a nose. This place is great. They have a wide variety of products for selection to purchase. They do traditional Medi spa treatments like Botox fillers etc. They also have a surgical practice where you can get consultations on facial plastic surgery and hair loss. I went for a hair loss consultation with a young doctor I can't remember his name but he was very professional and explained everything. He spent nearly an hour with me going over the procedure, what would happen, what to expect, etc. I haven't booked it yet but I'm planning to soon. Warning. Worse experience ever !! It's been a month and I'm still struggling with blurry and double vision. Eyes are extremely droopy and I have to hold my eye lids up to apply shadow. Even after discussing my concerns extensively with Kayla their most experienced injector .... Horrible results !!!!
