While I was there I saw a lifeguard rescue a small kid (maybe 7) from the shallow end of the pool and no less than 30 minutes later the same kid was jumping off the diving board and going down the deep end slide. He was barely keeping his head above water but struggled to get to the side of the pool. The lifeguards should be more attentive to that child and probably shouldn't have let him go into the deep end. But - it's not my pool to run. Just a personal opinion.

This one is close to home so I checked it out on a Sunday afternoon and for $4, it wasn't a horrible waste of money. They have a regular pool with a slide and kiddie pool and a lot of lifeguards, like five or so for such a small space! I really hoped that they would have chairs to lay in but no dice, only a few picnic tables and some seats that area little low to the ground and go back a little. I stayed for about two hours and went on my way and by the time I slept there were about 12-13 people there. It's basically a no frills, which is what I was expecting, but think I will check out other pools in the hood the next time.

My son is at one of the highest levels and the classes are bigger and longer, and I don't feel like he gets the same attention that he used to. My daughter is somewhere in the middle though and still learning a ton from her classes each week. In general, the location is clean and well maintained. There are family showers with doors as well as showers along the side of the pool for a quick rinse off. There are plenty of changing rooms for simply drying off and getting on clothes (along with plastic bags provided for putting wet swim clothes in). The staff is super friendly and my kids love them.

The pool has a zero entry point with some fun sensory play. The changing rooms are pretty basic (showers, bathrooms, changing area), but were clean. You can reserve shaded picnic areas as well as shaded lounge area otherwise there is little to no shade at this pool. This place also has a snack bar. My son is 5 now, so I can take him with me into the women's restroom to change, but once he turns 6, he'll be on his own. Boo. There are a zillion deck chaises provided, but only a few are adjustable. The vast majority only lay completely flat. Also? COLD!!! When we were there recently it was 90+ degrees outside but the water was freezing cold and my son's teeth were chattering within minutes. Even after several attempts to help him "get used to it", he was asking to go home after only an hour there. UNUSUAL for him - he normally wants to stay at the Ridge pool for hours. So.
