I was VERY excited to find such a awesome deal with with a high ranking business but sadly I was / am very disappointed with them. The lady on the phone was very nice. I scheduled my appointment, verified my email address and waited for the day to come when they'd show up! While inviting them in they said they were here to do both of my fireplaces (I had mentioned on the phone that I have a gas and wood fireplace and I was thinking about buying two Groupons to do both.) I informed him that was false and we'd only be doing the fireplace downstairs. He became defensive a little rude and told me to just show him where the wood fireplace was. He checked out the fireplace downstairs and checked out the roof and came up to me and said that he wasn't informed that my fireplace was an insert. I was unaware at that time that there were inserts and told him this is the first time I've ever heard of such a thing as I just bought the house last December. He started getting very short with me and said I was asked on the phone whether it was a insert or normal fireplace (Not sure the other term). I told him I was not asked about this and he told me I was. Needless to say there was a back and forth where he called me a liar. In the end this was not only wasted my time but wasted the companies time. I contacted their customer service line and the lady was very nice but did not understand that she did not mention ANYTHING about inserts or normal fireplaces as I would have gone downstairs and explained what I found / see so they can judge. At this point I just wanted a refund and to go on my way. She said they would NOT be issuing me a refund until they verify what was said on the recording and they would be contacting Groupon to fight it. The only reason I am writing this as I want to ensure that nobody else has this issue with this company, I am not sure if I am the odd ball out here but from what I can see they were rude and didn't even try to appease me. A real professional would have suggested doing the gas fireplace as the fireplace downstairs is not covered and we'd review the recording of the call and if it was found I was told and I am mistaken then its my fault but if they are mistaken then we can come up with a deal. read more

Very Unethical People Hired Rodney Myer to clean our chimney at home and to repair our backflash. They came out got sooth all over our carpeting and never finished the repair of the broken stone in our fire place even though we paid them in advance for their services and for the replacement backflash stone. Rodney's excuse was that UPS kept delivering him a broken stone. I asked for a refund of the monies I paid in advance for the stone and since October of 2013 I have yet to hear from them. Received an Amazon.local coupon for a chimney cleaning from our daughter for Christmas. Scheduled with company, took day off work to be there. Technician called and said he was sick. Scheduled again. No one showed, no one called. Tried to call company multiple times, no one answered or returned calls. Wife called from a different phone, got an answer, scheduled again. Took day off work again. Technician called and said working on another job, family of raccoons that were hard to get out. Asked if could come later in the day, ANY TIME??? Technician said no, but could come next day. Technician suggested getting refund on coupon when told this was the third time they hadn't shown. Couldn't keep taking days off work to have no one show up. Seemed like they didn't want to honor the coupon. Three strikes, you're out! Called Amazon and got refund. read more

We received a bid to install a rain cap, water sealant and to "re-crown" the top of the chimney with cement where some brick had flake/deteriorated. The technician pointed to a neighbor's chimney and explained what a "crown" would look like when finished - in short, the cement trim around the top of the chimney - or so I was lead to believe. We anticipated a good looking finished product with a cement trim. The two employees showed up an hour and a half late. They threw some cement on the very top of the chimney, left the top bricks untouched (no trim), placed the rain cap on top and quickly sprayed "sealant" from a hand held pump. When I asked about the "crown" I was told that in "chimney language" the crown was only the cement on the very flat top and had nothing to do with trim. When I questioned his explanation at the time of the bid, even referring once again to the neighbor's chimney, I was told that the "trim" was not part of "the crown." For another $500-$700 he was willing to come back and finish the trim. When I expressed displeasure at his work and gross misrepresentation of what a "crown" is, the technician became very defensive, rude and even began to yell. In short, I was told that I did not understand the definition of the terms used to describe the various parts of the outside of a chimney and it was "up to the consumer to know the work that was going to be done." I was lead to believe that I was paying primarily to "re-crown the top of the chimney with cement" as the bid says, and not for someone to quickly (the entire job took 45 minutes) put a coat of cement on the top, which I could have hired any handyman to do, or could even had done myself for 1/10th the price. You would be wise to stay away from these characters, their misrepresentations, rudeness and lies. read more

Had a very similar situation as Helen C from Sandy. We found a coupon from Amazon. My wife set up an appointment. The person said that they would come between 9am and 11am, because they knew we were needing to leave for work at the latest noon. No one showed. Both my wife and my self tried calling multiple times to reschedule. No answer. We left at least 3 or more messages. When we finally were able to get a hold of someone, they told us the earliest they could come would be more than a week later. I tried to explain that we ALREADY had an appointment and NO ONE showed. Then also they said that they could only come between 11am and 1pm. Well I don't have the luxury of taking off work like that. They were completely unwilling to work with us, to try and accommodate us for their mistake. Fortunately we were able to get a refund on the coupon we bought. On another note, I find it interesting that the only reviews on their website are 5 star reviews. Specially when my situation has happened at least more than once! read more
