Dr. Makin is an amazing doctor and he worked miracles for us! We found that out after bringing my 10 year old daughter to him. We had brought her before to 3 other doctors who could not help her at all. She hurt her elbow while doing push-ups, and also had pain in her knees and legs. Over several weeks we brought her to a general doctor, an arm/hand specialist and an orthopedic surgeon. After examining her and having x-rays done, they all concluded that all she needed is ibuprofen for 3 weeks and rest. As she didn't improve over the 3 weeks, the doctors recommended MRIs. Well, instead of the MRIs I brought her to Dr. Makin. At that point she wasn't able to walk and her elbow hurt so much, she wasn't able to write. It took Dr. Makin less than 5 minutes to find out that her elbow was misaligned! He aligned her elbow and she immediately felt better and was able to use her arm again. After examining her whole body, he concluded that she must be having growing pains that affected her knees and legs. Right after the first adjustments and deep tissue massages, she was able to walk again! My daughter felt better right away after each treatment and over several treatments her pain level reduced steadily to almost no pain at all. Dr. Makin also had her take Bio Cell and Fish oil and had her roll out her legs with a roller 3 times a week. I was very impressed with his ability to diagnose her correctly at the first visit, and his ability to know what treatments and exercises she needed to get well again. I started going to Utah Spine + Sport earlier this summer. I had been told by 3 doctors that I needed a knee replacement. I am 55, have always been very active and played multiple sports with singles tennis being my obsession. I love Utah Spine + Sport. They are seriously so great. My first experience with them was I walked in without an appointment and the receptionist knew my name and even asked me how my brother was doing, when I had not even told her that my brother had been in to see them a few weeks before. They take the time to know each individual that walks through their doors and treat everyone like family. They are very knowledgeable. I was a little skeptical at first, especially since I had dislocated my shoulder 5 months before and had been in pain ever since. But after two visits I no longer am in pain. I received a massage from Anna. She tackles the harder areas of my body, knows how to release the muscles and does her best to relieve those areas listening to my body and me vocally. Not only is the massage great but they have instituted new plans to make prices lowers and to have additional freebies. You can't ask for more. In the long run, those massages cost less than other places. The front counter has gotten much better. Though I can't remember her name she is more comfortable at her job now after starting last year and you can see a confident smile come across her face when you speak with her. read more
