Justus is a crook and a fraud…read more We took our 4 year old son here to help with his focus. Justus told us how much karate would help his focus. After signing the contract things went south and fast! First they told us our son would have someone to help on his first day. Nope, some how they forgot and he was terrified in his class. They said they would have someone for his second class. Nope. We watched the receptionist twice record in her notes that he needed a shadow and never received one. This was the first issue. The next issue came when they told us they need MMA gloves. They could only be bought through them at 35 bucks. A month later they still haven't ordered them but they were more than happy to take our money. That was the second issue. Our contract states that the agreed monthly tuition was to be taken out on a specific day. Randomly we were charged $149. We called and Justus claimed he has no records of him taking any money but said he would quickly resolve this. Then he kept coming up with excuses and then stopped taking our calls. He started ignoring our calls and then would screen our calls through the receptionist. Justus doesn't even have the guts to talk to the people he STOLE money from. We decided this was fraud and contacted our attorney. She stated that with them taking money out outside of the agreed amount and date, this was a breach of contract and therefore it is void. Upon telling Justus this, he he told us that his contract holds up in court. He never apologized or tried to fix this issue. This is fraud and he has stolen money right out of our account with no explanation. The last issue is the school isn't taught by Justus. It's taught by a bunch of high school kids who seem to have no patience at all. Our son was having focus issues and this is the main reason why we put him in Karate. He had teachers roll their eyes and were short tempered with him. Unbelievable. I urge anyone who is thinking about using Bobby Lawrence Karate team Justus to run away as fast as you can. Like I stated before. He is a fraud and a crook. His business skills are awful and should not be allowed to own a business. Lastly, we went to our bank to dispute the $149 charge. The teller told us how she used to work for Justus. She told us that things like this happened frequently and there was a lot of shady business done there. She said she was so uncomfortable with how Justice did business she left. So please, STAY AWAY FROM BOBBY LAWRENCE KARATE TEAM JUSTUS!!!!!!

I feel entering into a obligational contract for a kid is unreasonable God forbid your kid lose interest you still have to pay. My kids lost interest 8 months in I still was forced to pay the full 1500$. Traffic is horrendous at the times they have for starting. I absolutely do not recommend this place find somewhere else that will work with your kids and make them enjoy coming and learning.

Almost a year ago we transferred from Provo ATA to this location. We loved the program and my son…read morereally enjoyed the classes. We met with Mr Booth about working my son toward a black belt a few months ago and we were ready to move forward. The tuition was estimated to be roughly $600 a month! We were so shocked to hear that an extra 30 minutes per class would more than triple our current price. Mr Booth must have seen the shock and stated "oh I forgot your son is a transfer student so it's half of that". I shared my son was interested in doing other sports and what if we wanted to leave the program during that time, is there a holding fee or anything we should know. I was told we needed to give notice and would then be charged an additional month but if we returned at any time, the "scholarship" would be voided and we would be expected to pay $600 monthly. We thought maybe it would be worth it to keep paying through seasonal sports. Well, here I am. Unfortunately leaving this 1star review after months of my calls, emails, and texts being ignored. My son has wanted to peruse other sports and coming from a split household the other parent has stopped paying their half, it didn't make sense to continue. We finally went in person to discuss cancellation where immediately upon meeting with Mr Booth he asked why we didn't want our son to succeed, were being manipulative and that they "don't do cancellations". It was shared that this has become a financial burden and the response was "pre-pay, use credit cards, find another source of payment." This clearly shows that this facility does not care about you or your children, only money. I suggest finding another taekwondo studio in the area. Don't get taken advantage of by Mr Booth.

Booth's ATA Black Belt Academy has been an amazing place to learn Taekwondo!…read more The school is owned by brothers who have a passion for what they do. They are knowledgeable in what they teach, honest, and create a learning environment that is both positive and high energy. I'm impressed with the way that they recognize the learning styles and abilities of everyone from Tiny Tigers to Adults and are able to adjust curriculum without sacrificing technique or the learning experience. I love that the Booths teach by example. It's not unusual to see them train beside students in the adult and black belt classes. As a student, I appreciate having someone with their skill level on the floor allowing me to observe both technique and protocols. There are ATA schools closer and more accessible to me, but I can't imagine training anywhere else. Definitely worth the drive to American Fork!
