Taken over by dirt and recently cut weeds. The trees are larger and provide more shade which is nice. I would not take my dog here anymore as I prefer the grass. Perhaps they will close it for grass re-seeding and growth.

This park was not off limits when all city parks were ordered to closed since it is a private community park. There's is no obvious entrance sign to this park. The differences in quality are glaring when comparing this privately maintained park and most other City of San Diego parks. The grass here is perfect. The equipment is in good shape for being constantly exposed to the elements. The trees are well maintained. Everything is clean. One day I noticed a wooden post and railing was repaired in less than 2 days! The lawns are very spacious and the track that runs around the perimeter is great for jogging and walks. There are also many exercise "stations" along the track. Most of which are rarely used. I think that's mainly because a lot of these stations are somewhat unnecessary (arbitrary stretching, odd exercises, etc). I just wish they had more pull-up bars.

On any given day you'll see people out playing soccer, softball, cricket, rugby---I think there's even a badminton league that plays here in the indoor gym. This rec center is a really nice community resource and it's good to see it being used to its full potential. If there were tennis courts here it would be perfect!

This makes me think that the city probably maintains it because I have found that the parks that are maintained solely by volunteers tend to be full of dog poop, have little to no grass left and smell awful. There is a big dog and small dog side, but you can open the gate connecting the two which is nice when there are only 2 or 3 dogs there and who get along with all sizes. Each side has a hose and bowls so you can rise and fill water for the pups on those hot days. There are a few benches and chairs scattered around as well which never seem too dirty to sit on. Parking can definitely be a pain if there is a softball or soccer game on the fields, but there is plenty of parking on the OTHER side of the park off of Regents Road if you get there and the dog park lot is full.

Decided to check out Gershwin Neighborhood Park with the husband and kiddos. It is very much a…read morelocal neighborhood park as there is only street parking available. I love the spacious grassy area! Saw some folks playing catch with their fur babies and a few others enjoying a picnic. In addition to that there is a side walk that loops around the park if you decide you just want to get that summer body and do some laps while walking or perhaps get your groove on while skating on your rollerblades. There is a tennis/basketball court when your up for some competitive action against your buddies. In addition to that, a large play area for the kiddos that sits a top lots of sand and another play area that just consists of tree stumps and a trail that goes to the entrance to the canyon behind the park. I think the only negative thing about this park is there are no restrooms. Other than that we enjoyed our time here and wouldn't mind stopping by if we're ever in the area.
