The idea of a library is to provide a resource of knowledge to the general public. Much of the viewable collection is complete schlock. Common volumes of classics in public domain, department store mystery novels, religious text not grounded in the study of theology, biographies of the most powerful individuals, etc. A collection should be representative of many narratives and viewpoints. I understand not including the most radical or controversial literature in public view, but the lacking in your collection indicates a stand against knowledge. While it is important to provide for the general public, it is also important achieve and provide for those looking beyond the readily available. Books often are out of print/circulation. Not buying or throwing out valuable resources is a detriment to the community and, on a long enough timetable, society at large.

It is as beautiful as I remember it The librarian at the entrance was so welcoming asking how can she help. I decided to ask her maybe she can send me to the right direction. She did not hesitate to pull a map and explain to me how to get there I still took the chance to admire the library before I left and I should go more often to sit and read

In my previous years, the Cody Library was my usual spot, but since this one is close to where I live, I went here. It took less time to vote than it took to drive here! The whole experience was fast, easy, and free of stress. The folks helping us get settled were also polite and friendly, and they didn't make us feel rushed. Miss Kansas, (yes, that's her name) lol, she is amazing with the kiddos! I loved and enjoyed it as much as my daughter did. The library itself is very big and beautifully designed. The kids area is bigger than other libraries I have been to and it's vibrant and colorful. It has a modern feel to it but very welcoming ambiance. I will definitely be coming back. The entire staff today was so kind and helpful. Great overall experience and highly recommend.

Because of a very large donation(s) the name was changed from Spring Branch/Bulverde Library to…read moreMammen. Part of the donation went to double the size of the library to better meet the needs of this growing community. This review is the same as my Spring Branch Library review. When we had little kids, we felt it was very important to read to them and to keep them interested in reading as they got older. At that time, the Bulverde/Spring Branch community had our small library located in an old house converted into a library. As time went by, the small community continued to grow, and they decided to build a new library on top of a hill overlooking the Texas Hill Country and the busy US Hwy 281 and state Hwy 46 intersection. Later, a generous donator gave so much money that they were able to double the size of the library into one that rivaled the main library in downtown New Braunfels. The library offers so much to the local community. They have children, teens, and adults programming, makerspace, and meeting rooms. I found the meeting rooms to be so very useful as my coworkers work from their own houses. I was able to book the meeting rooms for us to work together instead of being at someone's house. Meeting rooms get booked frequently, so take that into consideration when planning. Besides all the library stuff, this location is also used as a voting place. They set it up for easy entrance, voting, and exiting. Voting early here usually finds only small lines leading to short wait time. Will I return? Definitely:-)

However, my first 2 times were unsuccessful because they were closed and I had other places to be so we didn't stay. The 2nd time we came for a play day with my daughter but she fell asleep and I didn't want to wake her so I waited for her to wake up and just browsed around and played on the swings for a bit. This time we actually made it on time for play time. Very packed house today but it was a fun experience for my daughter. Especially since she's an only child. I highly recommend! It's FREE!! FYI we were informed today that the library will be closing Jan 26th until May sometime I'm glad we experienced the old version of this beautiful library! Excited to see the remodeled/ renovated version once it's done!

It's no wonder…read morethat people are often having photoshoots here. 5 stars for the awesome connected playground, with thoughtful separated spaces for littles under 5 and fencing so you don't have to worry about kiddos running away. 5 stars for a great kids space inside the library, with simple craft supplies and play sets for kids. The library itself is pretty small, and for a library, it may feel a little lacking. There's just not a ton of space to get lost in books. For parents with young kids, Landa Library is a great place to go!
