This 1 star goes to Sheri. Tam however is great and such a kind soul. I used to go to this nail salon every month for over 2 years and loved it but not anymore. I was running late and Sheri was kind enough to still let me come in 20 minutes late. However upon arriving I apologized sincerely and she said it was okay but then started to mimic me saying "I'm sorry" and speaking a different language to the nail staff in which they started laughing. I brushed it off because I was the one who was late and they had a right to be upset, whatever. I asked for a specific nail design in which Sheri decided to do her own design that I did not like. I was too shy to tell her right then and there and paid for my nails and left. I sat in the parking lot staring at my nails and realized I just didn't like them. I called and asked for Sheri so that I could tell her privately and asked if she could change the nails to what I had asked for and I even added that if it was too late that I would keep them that it was okay. She huffed and puffed and then told me to come back in. I go back in and everyone was staring at me including customers and I could tell the vibe was off. She waved me over had me sit next to where she was working on a client. Turns out client had no idea I was the one who called and continued to say "I can't believe someone wouldn't like your design" and Sheri made a hint that I was sitting right there and the customer looked over at me petrified. At this point the whole salon was overhearing and it was completely embarrassing and unnecessary to put me in that situation. I showed you a picture , you said you could do it, and you still have the nerve to get mad bc I don't like your design in which looks nothing like the picture. I got up and left at that point in which afterwards she blew up my phone calling and texting. I will not be returning, completely RUDE EXPERIENCE. I went into this new establishment for mani and pedi. I should have stopped there... nope, I let them talk me into getting a facial. It was the worst decision and totally threw a $110 in the trash! The warning signs, it was not clean, the JM products she said she would use were sparingly. When we started there was a problem with the lights. No relaxing for me. Then she did not tye her hair up. It was in my face. She was rough and felt like it was her first facial. I felt like I was going to have a panic attack when she put the cold gel mask over my eyes. Then it ended up in my hair. Henry is my favorite technician there. He does a quick thorough job when I get him. I don't schedule an appointment so it's hit or miss. I absolute do not recommend anyone get the GelX. My nails are so damaged and the shaping was absolutely horrible. It's going to take a few months for my nails to return to a healthy state. It was very disheartening when I asked for one thing and got another. I didn't take pictures, but my almond shapes looked like shortened stilettos. All wrong! i love this nail shop! ive been coming here for almost a year now. sherri is my go-to for my dip powder and i usually request tam for my toes! everyone is so sweet and kind here, they always greet me and treat me like a princess. my nails never disappoint and i can be picky! you cant go wrong with anyone in this shop! ive also noticed that when elderly people come in, they take the utmost care to make sure they get seated safely if they have a hard time walking. around the holidays they even have offered me a sweet treat. i cannot express how much i love these workers and this shop!! it is also newly remodeled and very clean!! read more

Called ahead to make sure the shop was actually open (with COVID closures, we wanted to make sure before we drove over) The front of the shop was closed up, and the windows covered in sheets of plastic. I called and was told to go around back. The place looked like a sweat shop. PACKED with wall to wall people, masks not being enforced, no ventilation, strong smells, no social distancing. They must have had the front windows covered so they wouldn't get shut down for violating safe health practices. We left without having any services. I booked 3 services for my family. A deluxe pedi for my BF with Annie $43. A mani/pedi for myself $50. Then a child pedi $21. When we got there everyone kept asking what we wanted. I told 3 different people we had booked online under my name. They kept saying you want 3 pedis. I said "It is booked online can you pull it up?" They never would. Then make me sign in since I am new saying the want all my info to spam me. Then they seat us and start again asking what we want. I had picked specifically for the things included in the service and booked that service with a purpose. They said my BF's service was $45. Then they said if I wanted callouses removal it was a deluxe pedicure. I said no online it showed mani/pedi with callouses removal for $50 combo deal. My BF begged me not to pitch a fit and he would pay the differenc. The $50 mani/pedi turned into a $45 deluxe pedi and $18 mani. They said they had no mani/pedi. I kept repeating it's on your website. They kept speaking Korean and saying, "We will have it changed." Then I specifically asked for Annie for my BF cause he would not want a man. Annie did my manicure. WHY? I mean my BF didn't get a man but why have someone go through the selection and booking online if every thin is just a big joke and facade. I let the manicurist know I had tow hang nails I needed removed but they were sensitive. She skipped over both of them. the nail polish was peeling off before we had finished lunch afterword and all my cuticles were glaring at me as if nothing was cut. My nails were not long and I just wanted my cuticles cleaned up and some clear polish but all the tips are cut uneven and not rounded or even squared. They are like some squared and some rounded. My feet were fine. My BF's first experience at the nail salon and he was satisfied. My daughter as well. But the whole thing ended up costing $180 cause when we were told tip would be cash my BF had to give it cause I had no cash. He said just do $15.They came back with the 4 - $5 bills after breaking the $20. I said, "he is paying and only wants to do $15. She started saying $5 for the 3 pedicurist and one for me the manicurist. I was like it's not my money, he is paying and said $15. She says so no for me? I am thinking no not $5 each take $15 / 4 = $3.75 each. I mean I am not paying tip he is. But she kept looking like she was going to cry. When is enough enough. You didn't even acknowledge the prices online or the people I chose or do anything but bait and switch the online pricing to whatever you wanted to make up and now that you have gotten over on price you still want to dig deeper for a tip I didn't even want to pay and strong arm me into something I am not even giving the money for. I just had gel nails done and after a week the gel was lifting from the base. The nail tech was nice, but it was the end of the day and she looked tired. More than half of the gel is lifting from the base. Every time I wash my hair or do anything something gets caught. For the price I paid, I was expecting at least 3 weeks with no issues. The first time I came here was back in March on a Tuesday. I encountered the store owner, Lily. I went in to get a full gel set & I guess that she was the only one available. So while she was doing my nails, I was just telling her that a few of my nails were uneven in the most politest way possible & they were. She took it upon herself to raise her voice at me like I was in the wrong for telling her about my nails. If I'm paying my money, especially $48, I'm expecting it to be done right. Lily has a stank attitude & needs to do a self-evaluation check because that's how you lose business. On the more positive side, Tina is so lovely! She's unfortunately off on Tuesdays & that's why I didn't encounter her on my first visit. She's super sweet, kind & gentle. She made sure I had gloves on before I put my hands under the UV light, Lily had me put my bare hands in! She didn't show any kind of care for her work & should be ashamed of herself which I doubt she is. Tina takes great pride in her work & we had a lovely conversation. Would you like to forgo lunch, as I did, to have a sloppy manicure? I know just the place. The technician was not only sloppy, but unsanitary. Why she continued to use her own fingernail as a tool I have no idea. Perhaps that's a new disgusting technique required by state licensing. She use dirty water that had particles from my old gel polish floating around. She used zero cuticle softener. I was like what in the world is this low effort manicure about and who has been tipping this substandard service sending mixed signals that this is acceptable. Worst experience of my manicuring life!!!!!!!! Tamara did a horrible job! My normal manicurist was closed today and I needed my nails done asap. So what do I do I drive down the street since there are nail shops on every corner. So I stopped into utopia. It looks great by appearances but the quality is beyond HORRIBLE!! I was hoping to get a pretty gel manicure. I ended up with gel on my cuticles and all over my nail beds. Also while trimming my cuticles tamara clipped me and then held her finger on my finger hoping she could stop the pain. Then the kicker!!! I said I'm disappointed with my manicure and they still charge me full price!!!!!! An expensive lesson to not be disloyal to your manicurist. Been coming here since I was a kid, with my mom. We've continued to go here always. All the workers are nice, caring, and do the best job. Everytime I come in, they have smiles on their face and greet you. Prices are standard, like any other nail shop. Would recommend if youre in the Gardena area. I periodically use this salon and they have done a good job but I only request the basic. An Occasionally gel manicure and a basic pedicure. Both are done well. In my last two visits in a 2 month span, the shop has not enforced social distancing. I get that the nail techs need to feed their families, but I need to live for mine. I will not be retuning for awhile, especially while the Covid cases are steadily increasing on LA COUNTY. Lastly, I'm a stickler when someone is trying to push a service/product on me that I've declined twice. I'm not going to be paying nearly $100 every time I walk out of a nail salon.
