The exhibitions were thoughtfully arranged, easy to follow, and paired with helpful descriptions that actually made me want to slow down and read them. There were plenty of students around to answer questions, and everyone I interacted with was friendly and knowledgeable. It ended up being a wonderful stop on my trip and one I would happily recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Great spot for art lovers, families, or anyone looking for a quiet, reflective experience. They also are a perfect venue for wedding receptions. Easily worth a stop if you're anywhere near Springville or Provo. Also, back in the day when I was in the BYU Russian & German Choirs, we performed here a few times. Not sure if they still do that, but if so, you might just stumble into a surprise concert mid-gallery stroll. Nothing like quietly admiring a landscape painting while 20 students suddenly start singing in Russian or German behind you. Seeing a liger in person completely blew my mind since I honestly thought that was something made up for Napoleon Dynamite. The whole museum is engaging without feeling overwhelming, and the fact that it's entirely free makes it even more impressive. It's one of those places that sneaks up on you and ends up being way more interesting than you expect.

This is so Provo. The Tiny Art Gallery is tucked between some buildings on Main Street and has very…read morelimited hours of operation. When it's closed, you can peer inside the windows to see the art, but during business hours, you can open the door and get a closer look. There are a few pieces of art along the walls and a regular sized magnifying glass to observe the work. Everything is mini. It's kitschy and cute. I'd love to see the exhibits change out over time and maybe feature different artists. Perhaps that's what they do, but I wasn't sure.

That said, if you're an anthropologist, or play one on TV, this would be a cool place for you to visit. The museum is small, but has a decent amount of things on display. There are plaques and signs that explain the items, but they read more like a textbook and don't really capture my attention. It almost has a middle school science fair vibe to it-things on display with a lot of text next to it. Doesn't really tell a story or inspire the reader in a way that leaves an impression. Of all the museums I've been to (and I love museums), this one was pretty "meh." However, it's free, with easy parking onsite. That's something!

This newer "museum" houses the archaeological items BYU has. I wouldn't necessarily call it a…read moremuseum, more just an extension to the archaeology department. In the back is where all the magic happens. The main area is a student curated exhibit hall. Since it is newer, there is room for some major potential. It is bigger than the previous one so I hope they can get some good exhibits going. Admission is free. Looking for a date thing to do? This would be a good place to check out. Plenty of free parking out front.
