I've got to say, I was very impressed with the nice and relaxing vibe this place gave off. This library is pretty great compared to the other libraries in the area. It's right across the street from Emily Carr Secondary School, but it's certainly not just for high school students. There are two giant floors - a lot of children and families on the bottom and a lot of high school/college/university students on the top. The reason for this is because the entire top floor is a silent study zone! Such an awesome place that gets you in the mood to actually read and write. The tables and cubicles have outlets attached, which is obviously convenient if you use your laptop, smart phone, or any other electronic device to study. The couches are super comfortable as well. They've also got some nice rooms with white boards available for booking if you are coming in with a group. In terms of the general library stuff, this place has a wide range of DVDs, books, magazines, and a computer and printing station. I'll certainly make my way back here sometime soon! Malvern Public Library has gone through numerous renovations over the years and it is getting…read morebetter and better. The interior is just so spacious with the high ceiling. When I walked in this afternoon, Malvern felt like the libraries I remembered.... silence...quiet.... so quiet my ears were buzzing... Great collections of Ethnic language books. However, the books at the travel sections are quite out dated... I think I will be back to Malvern when I need some quiet Internet time..... or a power nap!

This library been here since 2004 so a long time has passed and I do like the branch It seem to be unusually quiet today for a library I heard can get noisy but it was still well used, despite being attached to a community. It is pretty nice branch both with patronage and the look. The branch was still well used as most booth alone the walls were and confortable seating, they have glass room know as the learning center which has about 10 computer but i think they have another 2 dozen or so outside of those. This is one bigger collection in scarborough probably third to other two district branch in scarborough. Cedarbrae and Agincourt. The thing I do like about this branch is they do have an area called the spot which essentially geared towards teen and teens hang out there, which does keep them out of main library From the security guard and other staff, it does get noisy but see like it just verbal from kids and teen nothing too series. Ventilation is good. The spaciousness kind of dampens the sound, like a vacuum lol. It was so incredibly quiet. Like I saw people's mouths moving, having conversations, but no sound. It had to be one of the best study sessions I've had. Even though I didn't come here to read, the shelves were so neatly organized. I liked that each shelf had one featured book on display. And I loved the long wooden tables with short lamps, kind of an ode old campus libraries. One thing I appreciate is the amount and variety of study space provided. Every spot is equipped with power outlets like a priority. Very study-oriented. Location-wise, the fact that it's next to Promenade Mall means food & drink is conveniently nearby, and you can return to resume studies. I'm not from this area; I've been kind of library-hopping recently lol; but this library definitely left a good impression and I would come back here if the chance arises.

Bathurst Clark Resource Library is located right behind Promenade Mall…read more Suburbs' libraries can be really boring especially in the newer subdivisions because I have to say Bathurst Clark Library really lacks any architectural value as a building itself. The inside though is quite nice.. high ceiling.. 2 storeys high.. really open and spacious. There are also some curious love seats... on the right hand side when you enter.. really popular with teenagers. Those have really heavy padded cushions, looks so comfy! I am not that lucky to have one of those lover's seats. However, there are tons of communal tables that have individual study lamps and power bars all wired underneath the tables.. that makes my search for power for my laptop really effortless! WIFI connection is stable and fast. If you do need to use their public computers, a library card is required to sign in. Vaughan's Public Library is the only libraries I been to that has computer terminals that are equipped with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Atmosphere here is more formal.. everyone are whispering and there are no kids running around! :)

This particular Vaughan Library is located inside Dufferin-Clarke Community Centre. Though sometimes toddlers does come in and turned this place into a zoo... and there's really no where to hide since the size of the library... (Stop that scream! Stop that Whining!! Your mother is right in front of you and she is NOT deaf!) Aside from that, if you have your own ear plugs headphone.. that won't be an issue!! Kids!! I tell you one more time!! NO SCREAMMMMING!!!!

Sometimes it does get a little loud when obnoxious high school kids from Vaughan SS come here after school to socialize or just randomly do stupid stuff. Fact, buried underneath this library is a time capsule with a picture I drew when I was in elementary school, plus some other stuff from class. Guess one day this building will be demolished and people will see what the 80s kids were up to back in the day. :)

I think the kids having a great time attending their summer program with 3D printings, latest computers lab and games. The decor here is modern and futuristic and with so much energy. If you are not kids or with no kids, please proceed to the 2nd floor. I like the quiet zone at the back and the upper level for adults are noticeably quieter. Now since even books are in digital format, there are less actual printed material available. DVD movies are quite current. Good to pick up a few for movie night at home.

Everything is so new here... so spacious... with 12 feet high ceilings, large floor to ceiling windows... it is really good place to chill or even take a nap at one of their individual comfy armchair... Of course free WIFI access... good reliable and high speed and you never even get logged out ... and numerous outlets... And you can bring in a coffee/water/pop or whatever and you don't need to buy anything... and no one will give you mean looks even if you park yourself here for hours.. (uploading photos to yelp or writing reviews) Yes I am writing my 800th yelp reviews right now! Oh almost forget they do have good selections of books and DVD... I have not buy a copy of books for years.. I either put a hold and reserve them online for later pick up or I will just grab some good interesting read off the shelves... Of course this location is a lot newer, bigger and more modern than what it used to be. However even being bigger and have more rooms.. I still cannot find a spot to sit...ended up I just stood and read some books for 30 minute...... A lot of the book shelves are half empty, especially on the second floor. Maybe they can reorganize the space and put some armchairs for patrons to relax and read a little!

Agincourt Library used to be my favourite library as a child because it was so new and clean and…read morewell-organized. After many years of service, this public library has experienced abuse from its extensive children's reading section and the expanded computer lab where teenagers spend hours playing online games. The library is definitely good if you have kids -- their children's section has a cute little reading area and they do have group reading events every once in a while. They carry lots of books on tape/CD, as well as movies on VHS and DVD that you would otherwise have to pay for at Blockbuster. Another thing this library is good for is reading material in other languages -- they have a huge selection of books, magazines, and movies in Cantonese and Mandarin, as well as Urdu and other South Asian languages. They have a decent French section including a lot of expensive dictionaries, and they have a huge encyclopedia section upstairs. They also have a couple good study areas if you need some peace and quiet, just go upstairs, away from the kids' section, and silence is yours. Their selection of reference books is much better than other Scarborough libraries, and they usually have a lot of the books in the library itself. They have computers exclusively for searching for materials and reserving them online, and the whole system is easy to use once you get the hang of it. If you're in Scarborough, Agincourt Library is one of the best, and even if you're out of the neighbourhood, this library is decent if you want to actually bring the books home, since you have to leave the books at the Reference Library the way you found them.
