Uzi created a delicious, beautiful cake for my wife's birthday. He asked for some basic preferences, and took care of the rest. The cake was perfectly moist, and the buttercream icing with raspberry cream filling was wonderful. We'll definitely order for special occasions in the future, and look forward to visiting for coffee and pastries soon!

The great reviews I found here on Yelp led me to Uzi's. I always support small businesses and Uzi's seemed to fit my criteria. Parking isn't convenient but worth it. I entered this quaint storefront and was immediately welcome by a man who could be no other than Uzi. We chatted amiably and he proudly showed me all the pastries available today. Based on prior reviews I already knew before I walked in that I was having the carrot cake (my favorite) and a cappuccino. I sat at one of the small tables and Uzi brought me my order. Even though he professed to having too much work he nevertheless joined me at my table we chatted as I enjoyed perhaps the best carrot cake I've ever had. It was multi-layered with just the right amount of sweetness and a firm, creamy cream cheese frosting. Uzi is a great guy and his pastries are even greater. I will be back.

And he makes big model buildings out of sugar! Awesome.

Wanted to grab some coffee at a different close by spot which to our disappointment was closed. Coffee is very important to touring musicians!!! Found Uzis and was more than delighted. The man himself was friendly and the cappuccino delicious! Sampled one of his cheesecakes as well, unbelievable! Wish he had breakfast food... BUT it is a pastry shop after all. A pastry shop with delicious coffee.

I stopped here while in town for a work trip based on these Yelp reviews. Uzi was working the counter and we chatted for about half an hour - what a wonderful man! We bonded over a love for his home country which I have visited a few times. I bought a mini raspberry filled vanilla cake and it was INCREDIBLE. The icing had the perfect amount of sugar yet was smooth and creamy, the strawberry filling was delicious and just the perfect amount between the layers of moist vanilla cake. Im a huge cupcake and cake fanatic and I was blown away. If you are ever in DuBois, this is a REQUIRED stop during your day!

Uzi's is by far 5star service the best cappuccino and freshest pastries. The Chef is Uzi working away in the kitchen, ring the bell and promptly he's ready to take your order with a wonderful smile. No only does he have the pastries there's also a large portfolio of cakes to order. The display case of wonderful treats they look like artwork. On the walls is many awards and articles. The decor has a charm about it plenty of seats. Chef Uzi what a great conversation we had and the delightful treats made our visit to DuBois a memorable one. We look forward to visiting again.

Stopped in on my trip from NYC to Detroit for coffee. The Americano he made me was amazing and I'll stop here every trip. The owner has no employees and knows exactly what he's doing. You can see and taste all the love that goes into each dessert.

Raspberry cake, carrot cake and pineapple upside down cake! The carrot cake with cream cheese frosting is my favorite!

Great exquisite treats in a rural setting. Uzi also visits many local festivals on the weekends.

Great pastries, friendly prompt service. Always love shopping at Uzi's, and is much more accessible now that Uzi has relocated to the mall.

Stopped in on the road and got some cake slices and a cappuccino. Those and the chat with the owner are all delightful.

The cakes and pastors are excellent here. I would buy all of the time but they are pricy.

Wandered off the interstate to grab a cup of real coffee. Didn't expect to find French press here. Good coffee. Nice place.

Who would know that the best bakery I ever visited would be in DuBois, Pennsylvania? The walnut hamentashen were perfection.

Oh, man, I really don't want to write this but I will. The subs are disappointing, and this is…read morewhat the review is for. Their bread is wonderful, the paninis delicious, but the subs (especially at $22 for a 12-13" sub) are very overpriced for what they are. This was the first time I've ordered the subs, I've been buying here for many, many years, and bought 2 subs for a party. The subs were not as filled as Subway or Fox's subs that I've had before (for much less $). In the center cuts, the diameter was about 2-1/2", and they tended to roll around on the plate. I put out lettuce, tomato slices, and onion as well as condiments (vegs are not provided), but only 1/2 sub was eaten. I expected a lot more, considering both the price and the store reputation. I didn't mention anything at the party, was too busy, but several guests asked where I bought these. And they weren't asking in order to buy in the future. :( One said that she heard these subs were supposed to be really good, then tried to console me by saying that the person making them might have had a busy morning and didn't do the best job. Ugh. BTW their meatballs, both soup (frozen) and regular size in sauce are great. It's just the $22 subs that I was very disappointed in.

Owner is rude. Won't return. Asked about MSG in soup and he snatched the quart out of my hands…read moreand said "Then don't buy it!!" - I started to say I get migraines from it and he said "don't care" - "$4" that was for my bread. Handed him the cash. Nothing else. Not thank you. Nothing. And he walked away. I don't care if it's po-dunk DuBois or Miami Beach - courtesy is expected everywhere especially when you are supporting HIS business. He also has an issue with the food stamp card. Took disabled neighbor into business and she asked if it was accepted and he was behind the counter again. Huffed. Rolled his eyes and meanly said "yeah". We walked out. Last thing. Next day he was behind me in grocery store line and complained about how slow the cashier was. Saying "if this was his employee they would be fired". Dude! I told him to relax the person has special needs. He said "don't care". What an arrogant A$$. No longer supporting his business or him.
