Rick went through all kinds of scenarios in order to explain to me, in very simple terms I could understand, why my particular situation did not warrant a refi and that going through with it would actually cost me thousands more than keeping my current mortgage. This is information I SHOULD have received from Provident when I applied for a refinance; however, they apparently only care about lining their pockets, never mind hurting actual people. After the loan was completed they sent me a customer survey to fill out. They asked about a particular person who I never worked with. Funny I never heard back from them to follow up on the negative questionnaire. One thing they should invest in would be electronic signatures instead of having to drive down to their office and sign a large stack of papers. I should have gone with Quicken Loans, since they were more on the ball and wanted to earn my business.

She pulled my credit without my permission, gathered wrong information about me and wouldn't give me the chance to correct it and soooo much more. I finally hung up on her back in June because she only called me to be condescending and had absolutely nothing nice or helpful to say. She got mad when I told her I had already been approved through someone else. The funny part is, I was getting a second opinion; which I have every right to do by the way. What's funny is Heinie's uneducated opinion of me contradicts what others say. She wasn't even willing to give me a loan and again, was so condescending the entire time. I was shocked that she thought she could treat me that way. Here is some of my favorite quotes of hers: "You can wait until you're old enough to get a house" Excuse me? Lol. Why didn't the other loan officers say that? This isn't lagoon. I don't need to be *this* tall to ride the ride. "Wait until you're married with a man that can co-sign and give you money" I never thought I would hear a woman say such a blatant sexist thing but here we stand. She also said in an email that I would need a co-sign which is interesting because A. I don't want one and B. I don't need one. There is nobody on this earth that I am less likely to recommend. We refinanced our house in 2020 with Loans By Rick. Everything went well. The terms were good, the…read moreinterest rate was good, we financed the fees, and because of the pandemic the notary came to our house with the documents so we didn't have to go to a title company office. This was our third refinance experience and hopefully our last. I gave 4 stars instead of five for a couple of tiny reasons. 1. If you're someone who can end up taking to someone forever about random things, watch out because Rick Kirchenbaum is, too. We spent way too much time chatting on the phone instead of actually discussing the terms of the offer. If you like the bonding from chit chat, Rick is probably your guy. But I spent 2 hours the first day taking to him about how he used to own a shoe store in Sandy and might have sold shoes to my husband when hubby was in high school. Just... how did that happen?!? 2. There were several issues with getting our documentation of pay stubs and tax forms and loan statements to his office. Mostly file format issues. It was annoying to have to take a picture of something ~again~ and email it ~again~ because it was either too big or too blurry when his office put it in the portal for the underwriters. Might not be an issue now when people can meet in person again, but it was annoying and made things take a week longer than necessary. 3. He wasn't clear about how big the lender fees would be or whether they'd be coming in the form of a check from us or rolled into the loan until we got the final paperwork. I was surprised the fees were bigger on the final paperwork than on the estimate. And I thought we would have to pay that at closing. I didn't back out and go with someone else because at that point I was many hours deep in phone calls and emails and digital portal clicks and sign heres and I honestly just wanted to be done. And then we didn't have to pay anything at actual closing after I'd been worried about it for a week. So nice surprise, but a little more clarity during the process -- especially because I asked about those two things specifically -- would have been appreciated. So yeah. Solid 4 stars. The mobile notary instead of having to drive somewhere in Salt Lake to a title company office was seriously the best thing. Overall I'd use him again if we hadn't paid off literally all our consumer debt in that refi and should never ever need to do a refi again. Ever.
