We refinanced our house in 2020 with Loans By Rick. Everything went well. The terms were good, the…read moreinterest rate was good, we financed the fees, and because of the pandemic the notary came to our house with the documents so we didn't have to go to a title company office. This was our third refinance experience and hopefully our last. I gave 4 stars instead of five for a couple of tiny reasons. 1. If you're someone who can end up taking to someone forever about random things, watch out because Rick Kirchenbaum is, too. We spent way too much time chatting on the phone instead of actually discussing the terms of the offer. If you like the bonding from chit chat, Rick is probably your guy. But I spent 2 hours the first day taking to him about how he used to own a shoe store in Sandy and might have sold shoes to my husband when hubby was in high school. Just... how did that happen?!? 2. There were several issues with getting our documentation of pay stubs and tax forms and loan statements to his office. Mostly file format issues. It was annoying to have to take a picture of something ~again~ and email it ~again~ because it was either too big or too blurry when his office put it in the portal for the underwriters. Might not be an issue now when people can meet in person again, but it was annoying and made things take a week longer than necessary. 3. He wasn't clear about how big the lender fees would be or whether they'd be coming in the form of a check from us or rolled into the loan until we got the final paperwork. I was surprised the fees were bigger on the final paperwork than on the estimate. And I thought we would have to pay that at closing. I didn't back out and go with someone else because at that point I was many hours deep in phone calls and emails and digital portal clicks and sign heres and I honestly just wanted to be done. And then we didn't have to pay anything at actual closing after I'd been worried about it for a week. So nice surprise, but a little more clarity during the process -- especially because I asked about those two things specifically -- would have been appreciated. So yeah. Solid 4 stars. The mobile notary instead of having to drive somewhere in Salt Lake to a title company office was seriously the best thing. Overall I'd use him again if we hadn't paid off literally all our consumer debt in that refi and should never ever need to do a refi again. Ever.

Not only that but they did not include any required info on the ad stating their licenses needed for CA. On top of this and other things shady about the whole thing is that they even have the line "Address Change? Please Contact...." in the advertisement. If C&E can't figure this out...... Almost as bad as another company sending loan ads to the previous owner who died 6 years ago.......

Rick went through all kinds of scenarios in order to explain to me, in very simple terms I could understand, why my particular situation did not warrant a refi and that going through with it would actually cost me thousands more than keeping my current mortgage. This is information I SHOULD have received from Provident when I applied for a refinance; however, they apparently only care about lining their pockets, never mind hurting actual people. When I started the home buying process, I contacted three different lenders: a large national…read morecompany, the biggest local lender in my city, and Troy Evans of Cinch Home Loans. From the very beginning, Troy distinguished himself from the other two companies with his incredible responsiveness, wealth of information, and professionalism. Being a very detail oriented attorney by trade, I had numerous questions for which Troy always had reasoned answered for. I was constantly either calling or emailing him and invariably received a response within minutes. When Troy slept or was away from his phone and/or computer, I know not. It did not matter that Troy was one time zone over, Troy truly made me feel like I was his number 1 customer. Even though my loan was a modest conventional home loan in the mid-200's, Troy made me feel he was just as invested in the loan as I was. He worked extremely hard to get us through underwriting with no issues and dealt with all the little details of the transaction quickly and efficiently - no lost paperwork, no having to repeat information or send in multiple copies, etc. Troy got me an excellent rate (about half a percent lower than the big national company), advised me properly when to lock my loan (rates went up over a quarter percentage point from the lock date to closing!), and all along has been my patient, understanding counselor through what was a very stressful process. For this particular transaction, my purchase was from a FSBO and I did not use a realtor. Without Troy's guidance, advice, and abilities, I do not think this sale would have gone through. I cannot recommend Troy Evans of Cinch Home Loans highly enough and thank him for going above and beyond to make sure I was extremely satisfied with his service.
