We're…read morefamiliar with Club Wyndham properties and really enjoy knowing what to expect in terms of the little things - dishes, toiletries, kitchen supplies, laundry, etc. One thing worth mentioning for anyone booking through Airbnb: our reservation was through Extra Holidays, which is affiliated with Wyndham and is an authorized way to book stays at Wyndham vacation properties. I had read reviews about some guests having issues when arriving with third-party reservations, but we didn't experience that. We did have one small hiccup because the name on my Airbnb account didn't exactly match the name on my ID. Definitely double-check this before arriving, because the reservation name needs to match your ID exactly! Thankfully, since our reservation was through Extra Holidays, the front desk was able to contact them and get everything corrected in less than 10 minutes. We did not get hit with a sales pitch at all. Our suite was very clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was stocked with dishes, soap, dishwasher detergent, and other basics, and we also had a washer and dryer with laundry detergent provided. The coffee was surprisingly great, too! I especially loved how easy it was to text the resort if we needed anything - they would bring extra coffee, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, etc. right to our door. One thing to be aware of is that the buildings are set up more like apartments/condos and do not have elevators. We were on the second floor and had no trouble getting our things upstairs, but if stairs are difficult for anyone in your group, I would recommend requesting a ground-floor unit if possible. We packed a LOT into our Williamsburg trip, but somehow my kids' favorite parts were the amenities at the resort! There is a resort fee paid at arrival - I believe ours was around $45 total for our family of four for three nights - but we felt like we got a ton for it. We enjoyed the arcade and video games, mini golf, pool, hot tub, and more. There's also a gym, indoor sauna, and adults-only pool that we didn't get a chance to use. There's a bar and restaurant on site as well. The resort even hosted a pool party during our stay, and my husband got a free beer! Overall, we would absolutely stay here again. For the price, it's really hard to beat everything you get. It was a great home base for exploring Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown, while still giving our kids plenty to do when we were at the resort. Having a full kitchen and laundry in the room was a huge bonus and helped us save some money by cooking some of our meals ourselves. We had a wonderful stay!

Our room was spacious, nice kitchen & seating area, comfy bed & good toiletries to use. The grounds are nicely kept, u have 3 pools not bad best is the adults only pool which was nice. They have a Sly Clyde on premises good for food & drinks, we kept getting the Frozen tropical one nice & refreshing, some beers as well not bad. Only complain was weather was a little choppy so they made u get out the pool a few times which u can understand but u couldn't use the indoor pool either? Which didn't make sense. They have a game area inside, movie theater, tennis court & restaurant where u can also grab some food for sit down or take out. Seems like a lot of complains about the resort looking outdated? our building was nice, we thought the grounds looked good very colonial which I would assume u can expect it being colonial Williamsburg. We had no issues with checking in, out or were bothered with any type of sales pitch am sure our late arrival helped with that. Overall we had a nice stay, we enjoyed our time & would not mind coming back for a future visit as this was a very easy trip.

I needed…read moreto make arrangements that would accomodate 7 people and their rep that contacted me assured me she was booking 2 side by side units that each accomodated 4 people. This all took place the beginning of June 2010. This was for a trip to New Orleans this coming October. Over Halloween. During a Saints home game. Places book FAST that time a year. She had called me several times, each time relaying the same information, like she forgot she had already spoken to me about these details. When she would email me she used mispelled and abbreviated words, more like texting than proper emails. I only ever received written confirmation through the mail for one of these units, but she assured me that I would be receiving the second set of confirmations in the mail shortly. I needed to have surgery the beginning of July and several weeks had gone by while I was home recovering, now it was the middle of July, and I realized I had never received that second set of confirmations. I called and email my "rep" several times and she never responded. So I took it upon myself to contact the resort (as it was referred to) to confirm my reservations for these 2 units. As I suspected (I had a BAD feeling about all of this from the start) we were only booked for 1 unit that would sleep 4 people. Needless to say I was furious. I left an after-hours message with Good Buy Timeshare's rental manager and another rep returned my call the next day. Now here's the kicker.... She informed me that she was aware of my situation, that my original rep was fired 4 weeks prior and she is doing everything she can to straighten this out. Now, if they were "aware of my situation" for a month, why hadn't anyone from that office contacted me?! I feel that if I hadn't taken it upon myself to call the resort directly, we wouldn't have discovered the problem until we had gotten to New Orleans in October for our vacation. The only good thing about Good Buy Timeshare was that they did return my deposit..... But please stay as far away as possible from this company.

Not only that, we had to PAY them $2000.00 to give them our properties! Now it's 2013 and they claim WE have to pay the 2013 maintenance fees because they haven't transferred the deeds yet! Guess they hold them till after the 1st of the year so that they can scam you in this manner. And just TRY to reach anything other than voicemail when you call to complain! STAY AWAY!

Breakfast was amazing each morning! Tom's pancakes and French toast were superb! There was fresh fruit, eggs, juice, coffee and either ham bacon or sausage each morning to go with the pancakes on the first day and French toast on the second day. I have never had pancakes so fluffy and flavorful before. they were only surpassed by his French toast on our next morning. My wife and I are already planning our return here and have and will continue to recommend the Aldrich House to our family and friends. After the first night, we found a colony of ants in our room and were moved to another room, which was said to be an upgrade but felt like a downgrade. The second room had a strong mildew smell, a strange leak on the bathroom wall, and ants in the bathroom as well. This was meant to be a relaxing family trip, but instead we dealt with pests, room changes, and poor conditions. As a long-time IHG member, I've never experienced anything like this, and it has changed how I feel about the brand. Our family trip should have been memorable for all the right reasons. Unfortunately, this hotel made it memorable for all the wrong ones.

Desk person was nice and cordial but made no attempt to help. Just no you can't check in right now. Not even a call us later and I can check to see if the room is ready and you can check in. Nothing. Went to my business meeting arrived at 5:30p for check in. Again no one at the front desk, no bell to ring for service, nothing. Nothing so waited again. Desk person arrived was nice and helped us check in. Came down a while later to buy some snacks and water. Walked to front desk to have items charged to my room. Again no one at the front desk. Again I had to wait. What was at the front desk was the check in form to someone who checked in a couple of rooms from mine showing a one night stay - like mine - charged $40 less than my $219. This annoyed me. This hotel is not worth this price at all. I booked it because I figured it would be comfortable, close to proximity, I could grab breakfast, and I'd get friendly service. Yes it's on me for booking here at that price but it really stung to see that less expensive price for exactly the same room, one night stay, and same floor room as mine priced out at $189 versus $219. Granted I booked about 4 days prior and the cheaper rate was not available, and maybe the other person booked way ahead. It just showed me how Holiday Inn cares about money egregiously more than true service to customers. I get it's a corporation out to make money but booking the same type of rooms at such a price difference just really pissed me off. Just rubbed me the wrong way. I tried to let it go. But, moving on to their free breakfast buffet. Usual hotel buffet breakfast fare of eggs, sausage gravy and sausages, pancakes etc. have had these before at other hotels. Generally these are not restaurant quality but you will leave with a full belly, EXCEPT at this Holiday Inn. I had some sausage gravy and eggs. Could not finish it. Sausage gravy tasted absolutely terrible, eggs had a weird texture and were watery. Breakfast closed at 10am. Holiday Inn kitchen worker came out a bit before 10a and was visibly annoyed that people were still there. Rolled her eyes and went to the back again. As soon as people exited she made sure she closed all the doors to end the breakfast buffet. Closed by 10am on the dot. No smiles no good morning. Just annoyed look. I recommend going early when the buffet opens. Maybe food will be better. As for cleanliness. It's borderline for its price point. I've stayed at least known motels that were cleaning all the time. This Holiday Inn was somewhat dirty. Elevator had wet floor from pool that wasn't mopped. I exited the elevator to my shoes then making a sticky sound every time I took a step. Lobby rugs needed vacuuming. I wouldn't recommend this Holiday Inn on Richmond Rd in Williamsburg or stay again even at the $189 price point. On top of it all the cleanliness was subpar. Poor customer service, high price, and bad breakfast buffet in my honest opinion. If you do plan on booking a room make sure you get a room rate of $189 or less for a double queen suite. Otherwise you will feel fleeced like I did. On a positive note, my room was comfortable and clean. I get it's Williamsburg and I chose this place for the convenience to where I needed to go. But I think next time I will just book elsewhere because the lack of presence at the front desk, haphazardness of leaving someone else's checkin papers there for all to see, the poor quality of food and just the lack of real customer service makes me give this location 0 stars if I could.
