The condo's furniture and decor was fitting for colonial times however the furniture was terribly worn, dinning chairs had stains and a foot print on the coffee table. Mildew smell in areas of condo, dust buildup behind night stands, dirty top comforter. Rusted shower curtain rod. The room had not been properly cleaned, sanitized and overall poorly maintained. There was pee on the toilet seats when we arrived, the pool was nice and the staff was friendly but I would not recommend doing the timeshare for free discounted Busch gardens tickets, it's over 2 hours and they are very pushy, they even called our room the next day to offer us again,that was a huge turn off. The outsides of the community are wonderful but again, the inside needs work but it shouldn't be work that's done on a Sunday morning while people are sleeping. The walls are very thin and you can hear stomping from your upstairs neighbors, the beds are very hard and the springs hurt your back, We had to slam the shower door each time to get it to close, the only bonus is it's close to the parks and outlets. Having asthma myself and a child with it as well this was not a good choice, I have stayed all over this beautiful country and parts of the world and the cleanliness and quality will not allow me to recommend this to you. First unit: - horrible fish smell in master bed - maintenance sprays room deodorizer & it is just perfume over rotten fish smell - had to ask maintenance to remove sofa bed bag containing bedding - the culprit of rotten fish smell. Why would housekeeping leave it in a room in the first place? - safe did not work & maintenance has to come back twice to fix it - AC not working. Maintenance comes for a 4th time & after checking main unit outside, he actually duct tapes wiring until the main unit starts up. Not an acceptable fix at all & one that won't last. Second Unit - They move us to 2nd room & saga continues with once again the safe does not work & maintenance had to come again. It is fixed, but main code pad now moves inward when you press in your numbers so Russian roulette on open & close. - shower does not drain so not a good shower & really exhausted we decide to wait until morning to get maintenance again. They come & it is going to take snaking or more so as a quick fix & to avoid another unit move, manager allows us to use room across the floor to shower. A rather unusual solution, but better than a flooding shower. Just not very convenient - first unit & second unit not well maintained at all so extremely disappointed This was our 2nd time at this place & our recent stay was NOT good. Only enjoyment was the pool. Lobby, pool & landscaping areas only areas that are maintained. Units very run down & wonder where maintenance fees are being used. Manager also promised to waive fees, but that did not happen. Overall a disappointing stay. read more

Our stay at the Colonies of Williamsburg was nice. I am always appreciative of a resort that allows dogs to stay and has pet friendly units. The check-in process was easy and the staff was friendly. In fact, all the staff members we encountered were friendly. They offer Keurig machines upon request, which I thought was a nice touch. We also requested an extra blanket. Both were delivered within the hour. The grounds of the resort are well-maintained and quite lovely. The pool looked in good condition. It has an indoor and an outdoor pool definitely would be fun for families. I felt safe while walking around the grounds with my dog. A couple of times when we entered in the evening there was a guard at the gate and he checked for parking passes. The unit itself is very worn. The couches and chairs were worn to the point of being uncomfortable. The sink was difficult to shut off and often dripped and the dishwasher had black mold in it. In general the unit needed a really good cleaning. I did use the sweeper and it smelled. All appliances did work so that is what is really important. If it had been cleaned better I would have given the resort a 4, if the couch and chairs were in better condition a 5. read more

Our family visits the Colonies every year! We love it here but this year was a disaster! We brought a pet so we were in two per units. The one unit smelt so strongly of pet urine we checked out of the unit and all gathered in one. We dealt with several water leaks in the hallways throughout our stay. Front desk staff was not helpful and acted like we were a bother. We had a run in with lots of bugs in our unit. While we have had great experiences in the past, I do not think we will be returning. read more

My family comes here year after year, and we can't wait to come back each time!! It's always clean, the pools are fun and age friendly for everyone, they even have an indoor pool if it's raining outside!! Just got back from a week long stay. This will be our 4th time at the colonies. We love coming here. The units are a perfect size for a family of 4. We also had the joining unit on the floor. So kids had the run of the place. Giving 4 stars because Units are getting a bit outdated. May be time for a renovation soon. Also when checking in, we had the most grumpy @$$ employee. We showed up early. We drive from NY and rather drive the 7 or 8 hours over night while the kids (8 & 10) sleep. So we arrived early in the morning. We wanted to just let them know we were here. And because I rented two units for my family and my brother in laws family. One reservation, one name, one credit card. I know they dont guarenteed the two units together. I get it, things happen. But im calling every month to remind them. Just because it is that important to us. But again not expected. So when we get there we give our name and this employee is snapped her head, tilting her head and shaking her braids like she wants to have a go at me in a bar or something. And like I said, I'm from NY, I'll dance with you honey. Im your Huckleberry. So I bring up the two units together. Because again, it's important and the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I also don't expect my rooms to be ready. At all... but why not inquire. Because I can at least ask. You'd think I asked this woman for her first born child. So I ask her is any new places opened in the area for breakfast. Now , I always ask the locals for places to eat plus this was my olive branch. We started rough, let's start over with a conversation about food. Who doesnt love food. That's how you avoid tourist traps too, ask locals. She told me to Google it. Lol. I sh!t you not. So now I have to say something because thats her third time being sideways. So I said, "wow I was going to ask if we can use the pool at 10am when it opens but I guess you're going to push back with that too." I continued to say "I'm going to leave this conversation here, but if you get rude with me one more time, im going to ask to have someone else help me and then I will make an appointment to meet the GM during the week and go over your nasty attitude in detail. Now I'll be back at 10am for my pool brackets and when you see me its best to have someone else to help me because you are not going to ruin my good mood on vacation because your miserable". Another team member realized this wasn't going to end well with me and Mrs Personality, she stepped in and told us her favorite breakfast spot (she was right too, Pancake and Waffle House on Rt60, delish), told us she would love to see us poolside at 10am, and she looked at the computer and said she is pretty sure *wink wink* my two units will be together and she letting house keeping know we are here. Now that is hospitality. I don't need the red carpet, I like doing things for myself on vacation hence why we get these units rather than a hotel. But just be nice and you wont get run over by the big bad wolf from NYC. Still my favorite spot to stay in Williamsburg. Best pool and hot tub in the area now doubt. Two stars because there were some things that were outstanding, but ... other things were horrible. When I first got there, I was blown away and felt it was one of the best places I had ever stayed, but it didn't take long to feel like it was one of the worst places I ever stayed. When I was looking for a place, I used Booking.com and was primarily looking for three things: 1. Cleanliness; 2. Price; and 3. Location. I didn't realize it was an apartment/resort until I got there. Thought it was a room and soon found out it was an apartment. I will start with the outstanding things ... * My apartment was exceptionally clean, spacious, had two bedrooms, two bathrooms - one had a tiled shower room in it. It was gorgeous! In this regard, it was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. * People at the front desk seemed friendly, but had their hands tied. The negatives ... * Parking is horrific. There are NO assigned spots for apartments. This was fine when I arrived early for check in, but was a nightmare when I went out and then came back later. It was raining, all the spots were filled up, there was no place to put my car anywhere near my apartment. There is an overflow parking lot, but it's a walk from many apartments - and even more fun when it's pouring rain out. Found a spot not far from my apartment, as someone was leaving. I sat and patiently waited with my signal on for the spot and someone else waiting behind me. A car came up around us to the left, and waited - blocking oncoming cars and took the spot right in front of me when the other car left. I got out and said "Hey, I had my signal on and have been waiting for that spot." He started a hassle with me asking me what I was going to do about it and told me to go fuck myself! Him and three others, walked away from that area and didn't even having a parking pass, which meant that they were not guests of the hotel and were there to visit someone that was a guest. I took the license number, went to the front desk, and reported this. They took the license number (I reported it because, due to our altercation, I was worried my car would be damaged over night.) The desk person was very nice, apologized, gave me the manager's business card and told me that I could talk to her when she gets in after 9am (check out is 10am - so what would be the point???) The car that took the spot was still there in the morning with no parking pass. So, someone visiting had priority over an actual guest of the hotel. * Witnessed another altercation between two individuals over a parking spot. This place brings out the worst in people and was worth than Christmas shopping at the mall! * Found parking in another section of the resort, in front of other apartments, but it was a distance from my apartment AND since this facility seems to be built on top of a swamp, they do not have sidewalks they go between buildings and there are big gullies filled with water. So you still had to walk the entire road back to where you are going and there are no shortcuts to get somewhere in a straight line. So very long walk - in the rain. * While waiting to check out, heard a woman complaining at the front desk about something and heard the desk person say that they would get an exterminator in. Bugs? Rodents? Not sure. * Shortly after I checked in and got into my room, I marveled at how nice it was. THEN, I heard running back and forth and back and forth in the apartment above me. Sounded like kids just running on their heals! Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, back and forth. So at about $100 for an entire apartment, it attracts EVERYBODY. Including inconsiderate families with kids that just don't care. * This place has it's own set of rules that are unlike a hotel. There are specifics about towels, lights, heat, the fridge and a list of other things. If you want to clean up after yourself - stay home. I'm not saying to disrespect the place, but if you don't follow the rules and do a lot of their work for them, you may get charged, no sure. But who wants to arrive at a hotel, read a bunch of rules and jump through a bunch of hoops? Especially when they don't seem to care about their guests beyond the place looking nice? It depends on what you are looking for and how much you are willing to tolerate. For me, especially traveling alone, I just want to chill out and not think about much beyond the business I'm in town for, NOT wondering if I'm going to get ganged up on in the parking lot! GREAT!! We stay at this resort every time we come to Williamsburg for Busch Gardens and Water Country. It is very close to both of them as well. I was shocked to see all the negative reviews here as our past experiences have been nothing but amazing. The pools are great, gym has wide range of equipment and is kept clean, hotel staff are super nice in helping you out. Rooms are kept clean no matter what unit you are in, tennis courts are a great addition as well. We love staying at this resort and will always come back countless times!!! read more

Beautiful grounds, Forest setting that's walkable and shows off the seasons. We were here for early fall. The unit we were assigned despite being non smoking clearly had many smokers over and extended period. Instead of moving us as we asked they ran an ozone machine. If your unfamiliar an ozone machine kills everything organic and helps to neutralize smoke too. Sort of But it also meant we had to stay away all day. When we came back they had forgotten to turn it off making the unit uninhabitable for hours. I went in holding my breath, turned it off and opened a few windows. We sat in our rental car about 45 min waiting for maintenance to come but they never showed up. We finically went in and sprayed some travel Fabreeze and settled in. Both of us waking up to sore throats and burning eyes. As for the room it was typical RCI or Vacation Village. Mostly older furnishings old TVs and hard beds It did have a nice back patio with a deck and grill and a gas fireplace in the living room. We enjoyed our stay but glad we spent so little time at the property. read more

Pro: pet friendly, good space rooms, security, close to shopping mall & restaurants, each unit has own Thermostat . Con: terrible Wifi, older units, not much outdoor, This "resort" is an ok place to book for your summer vacation. For the outside it has a pool and a tennis court. Gym and weight room in the inside. The location 5 min away from a food lion & a shopping outlet. The room are a little old with carpet. They do require a security deposit. Our room did have a broken trim around the door frame leading to the back porch and we reported it to the front desk and they sent maintenance to come have a look. The free wifi is really slow and my iPhone 13 max could barely play youtube videos or google usage. This location is about 1 hr and 15 min away from Virginia Beach so that was nice. read more

If you are used to staying in Hyatt or Marriott level timeshares then know this is not that. This timeshare is perfect for families! It's comfortable and homey with fun pools for kids. It feels safe. Kids were riding bikes, skateboarding, rollerblading, you name it, every day and night. There is no adult pool, the towels are scratchy, furniture old, carpet very outdated, workout room had limited equipment and the staff is young and unpolished. Have you ever stayed in a timeshare? Well, this one is like many others. If you are lucky enough to have courteous neighbors that are aware of the construction of timeshare units, then you will have a much more pleasant experience. However, if you have the group of friends that are on a girl's weekend party, or the heavy walkers with children, then you will hate this place! Unfortunately, we had both of these, on our visit. In management's defense, when we called about the extremely loud music around 11:30 one night, they sent security right away. But, there's not a lot that can be done to fix the heavy Walkers above at 6am, when you were hoping for a quiet start to your day. As for the rest of the unit, it is in very good condition. We weren't a fan of the king size bed. For me it is way too hard. Also, the mattress cover is a plastic liner type, that makes noise whenever you move around. The kitchen is stocked well, and there is a six seat dining table. The sofa and chairs were comfortable and the television was a decent size. As others have mentioned, they are not smart TV's, so don't plan on watching Netflix or anything like that. The internet is not too bad, but did seem to disconnect from time to time, when being used. The staff that we dealt with were all friendly and helpful. As for the pressure Sales team, just tell them that you are not interested, or don't answer the phone in the unit. As others have said, the location is very good and there are many food choices nearby. Because of the noise from above and the uncomfortable bed, we are leaving a day early. But, all in all, we did enjoy the place. read more

I truly wish I had read these reviews before I decided to stay there because it seems this resort has an issue with bed bugs. I am only posting this to warn others. The staff is incredibly nice, and the property is very decent (many things could use upgrades but it was reasonable). The pool is also nice, but the photos are very deceiving; it is small. One slide and a small lazy river, but it was still nice. Ideal for small children. We learned the room had bed bugs on the second day after noticing blood on the sheets and large gashes on my husband's back. It put a huge damper on the trip (wasted an entire day moving rooms and washing all our belongings). The management was definitely attentive and empathetic, but they only offered us an additional night's stay for the trouble. I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. What's worse, we saw a new family moving into the room a day after we had left. I doubt the resort had enough time to fumigate in that amount of time. read more

I booked a room at the Colonies at Williamsburg 6 months ago because they were an animal friendly facility. We had called multiple times, left messages and emailed without a response to let them know that we would be bringing our dog. Two weeks prior to our vacation we finally had someone pick up the phone and they told us that we could not bring our dog because they did not have animal friendly units available and that we could use a nearby kennel. That is not a reasonable solution to us as we have never and will likely never board our dog. When we told the resort that we had been calling, left voicemails and sent emails, they told us that we must have called the wrong number and accepted zero blame for any of it. We will absolutely never use this resort in the future. TERRIBLE customer service. read more

Pretty disappointing property, the condos themselves are stuffy and lack proper ventilation in the hallways. The units seem well-kept, like a proper furnished apartment with a full kitchen and washer/dryer. The beds are comfortable enough. The indoor pool is dated and stained, it looks awfully dirty even if it might be clean. :/ The outdoor pool is more for children, think a splash zone with a couple slides, a mini lazy river, and a few fountains, not really a pool where an adult can actually swim and it's not heated either. All in all, it's not awful but I wouldn't purchase a timeshare here. read more

This place always lives up to expectations! The staff is friendly and the grounds are kept neat and clean. My family likes to stay here for several reasons. First, this property is right in the middle of everything! Seven minutes from a Walmart Supercenter, five minutes from the Williamsburg Premium Outlets (and Starbucks), nine minutes from Settler's Market (a shopping center with a Petco, Michaels, and Trader Joe's), and 10-15 minutes away from Old Town and other attractions. There is really no better place to stay! The rooms are clean and typical of the two bedroom, two bath places that we like to stay at. There's a full kitchen, so having Walmart and other stores so close really helps my family save money while relaxing and having fun! read more

We stayed here for four nights and really enjoyed our stay for our first time in Williamsburg. The Colonies is actually like timeshares and rental-type properties that can be booked on any third party hotel booking site. Upon arrival, you notice that the place has a resort feel. Now, it's not a 5-star resort feel by any means, but more like a 3.5/4-star. Upon checking in, things get interesting when getting the parking pass because the woman responsible for providing the pass will ask if you want to enjoy a complimentary breakfast or lunch the next day. This is a clever way of getting you to attend one of those presentations where they want you to buy timeshares. If you want no parts, simply say "no thanks." Me, on the other hand, I went along with it just for the $85 Visa gift card. You had to put a deposit of $10, which was refunded to you via the gift card. I figured it would come in handy at Busch Gardens or something else. The next morning, we went to the presentation. After having school cafeteria style breakfast (it wasn't great at all) we listened to Gloria's presentation. About 30 minutes in, my wife cut her off and let her know we weren't interested and didn't want her to waste much of her time. She understood, but almost in robotic fashion, she asked if she could still run through her presentation. When she realized we were serious about not being interested, she took us down to the basement where we collected our gift card. Something about telling disinterested people that you're taking them to the basement would be unsettling for some. I was ready to fight to the death if I had to. Note: the $85 gift card is not worth your time, unless you're okay losing about two hours of your day for it. Now, back to the property. We got a beautiful two bedroom condo style apartment with a full dining table for six, a decent sized kitchen, living room and two bathrooms. The master bedroom had a king sized bed and an on suite. The second bedroom had a queen sized bed and also had access to a bathroom. In addition, we had access to a washer and dryer. While it was small, it was extremely helpful because it meant traveling back home knowing all of our laundry had been taken care of. The Colonies has an indoor pool with three basketball hoops in the pool. Outside, there's also a pool with a small lazy river, a slide for big kids and a slide for smaller kids. There's also a whirlpool, which is kept at about 100 degrees. There isn't a restaurant on the premises, so you will need to go just down the street to Richmond Road, which the locals refer to as "Restaurant Road." One drive on this street and you'll immediately understand the nickname. There has to be roughly 30 or more restaurants within walking distance. Not to mention, every other restaurant is a "pancake house" or "waffle house" of some kind. If we decide to take another trip to Williamsburg, we will definitely be staying at the Colonies. read more

It came withe a washer and dryer which was an added It had a 2 pools indoor and out slides for the kids and a jacuzzim Did not know this was a timeshare prior to booking and had no knowledge of what a timeshare was. They told us we could go on a tour I guess to get you to try and buy into it. Our original person that started it was great. I forget her name but it started with an S. I like to research especially since I know nothing about timeshares and I wanted time to think about it and in comes Donna. Horrible that I remember her name and not the lovely girl prior. Donna was pushy, and kind of condescending. Telling us we stayed here for free blah blah blah till my husband chimed in and was like um no we paid a decent amount to stay here. Then she backed off. This is not the way to go about selling your timeshare what so ever. If myself and my husband were even thinking about buying a timeshare and Donna came over she solidified any doubt we had and it was an absolute no talking to her. Bought the time share with the promise of being able too use all of my points. Holly guaranteed me, because the previous time share was awful, that I would be able to use all of my points. I even called on the last day to cancel and she again said I was good. I have 140,000 BUT can only use either 90,000 or 150,000 to book my cruise. SHE KNEW THIS BECAUSE SHE HAS TAKEN MANY CRUISES. I emailed her about it and never heard so I emailed the customer service person to speak to a supervisor. No response. I explained what happened and asked for them to just give me the extra 10,000 points so I could use all of them. Using 90,000 didn't cut it at all. I asked specific questions from the sales person. So much so that he brought Holly over to help. I know what I am doing, and made sure we would have enough to take our Mediterranean 11 night cruise and she said we would. I went over this numerous times!!!! I would like a manager, who is above Holly, to contact me ASAP!!! I will continue to leave reviews like this until I can rectify the situation. So I posted a negative review about bed bugs at The Colonies at Williamsburg. I was bitten by bugs while on vacation, provided proof (pictures) and had to seek medical attention. Instead of reaching out to me personally...they responded to my review on Yelp basically making excuses for the negative encounters I've experienced. Not accepting responsibility for their mistakes and unfortunately I've lost three days of my vacation dealing with this. This is the Colonies at Williamsburg's response to my bed bug review and below that will be MY response to her that I have also inboxed: We are sorry for the inconveniences you have experienced at our resort. Please understand that we are not the experts when it comes to bed bugs. Therefore, we must wait for the pest control company's professional inspection. After speaking to the General Manager, it is also important to note that this was reported on New Years Day, which the pest control company was closed for the holiday. The reason that we do not wash and dry our guests' clothes is for liability reasons should the garments get damaged in anyway. Our staff went above our normal policy and washed a personal blanket for yours since it was too large to fit into the stackable washer and dryer in the units as a courtesy. Should you have any other concerns regarding your unit, please contact the GM, James Bushey. If you are in the hospitality business, you should make it your practice to become experts in the areas that may negatively impact your guests or hire someone who is. Based on other reviews I have read, you use that excuse often. I couldn't care less that I was bitten on New Years Day. You should be equipped to handle a facility emergency, but based on your sorry response, you apparently do not consider your guest being bitten by bugs an emergency. The fact that neither you, the business manager, nor the general manager have reached out to me personally to check on me or offer an apology says much about your customer service. You suggested that I should contact the general manager should I have concerns about my unit. I am the victim here...how is it that I should have to reach out to the GM??? He should have reached out to ME! That is ridiculous and so is your response. I spent an entire day washing clothes in your tiny stackable washing machine and the only reason you washed a blanket for me was after my third phone call to the front desk and second visit to the front desk explaining all of my concerns. The blanket would not fit in your tiny machines and since you are making me pay for my dry cleaning up front that would be the least you should do. If bed bugs seem to be an issue, you should hire someone on your staff who can recognize and treat them...and properly inspect units after each guests leave or at least on a consistent basis. You will feel right at home at the colonies. I stay here at least every 3 months and they always have something for everyone in your family. i love the fact that their is 24 hour security at the gate. They are 1 mile from the premium outlets. Everyone was really nice and pleasant. My family enjoyed our stay very much. The condos are very spacious and very well laid out. You have everything that you need right there and it is all in great condition. they literally spare no expense and use quality sheets, pots, and material. I've stayed about 3-4 times now so I can honestly say they should replace the couches but other than that everything else is in really great shape. We have used everything from the indoor pool to the gym. i will always recommend the colonies, we usually go to captain georges seafood,carabas italian, william and mary university, and several local venues worth checking out during your vacation. There is so much to do in Williamsburg you just have to come see it for yourself. Take a long weekend or stay for a week. read more

An Okay place to visit. Buildings are clean but very dated. Both indoor and out door pool have issues with moldy looking tile and there are issues on both decks. The GM should not be working in this industry, lack all customer service skills!! read more

I come here every year and am never disappointed. The staff is wonderful and the rooms are clean, spacious, and fully equipped. The resort is close to the outlets and to other fun attractions. There is a daily schedule for adults and children and an indoor and outdoor pool. We always go during the fall/winter and enjoy the outdoor heated pool. We get both of the bottom units to accommodate all 10 of us. Plenty of space to use blow up mattresses as well. I highly recommend this place to all! read more

I did not even stay. When the Vacation Coordinator, that I don't know or ever met, asked me for my credit card information I declined. Then she called me an idiot and hung up. These CRIME-SHARES in Williamsburg will never change. The is no way in hell I will ever vist or buy one of these scams. Really had high expectations after seeing the numerous reviews raving this hotel. Was sorely disappointed. Not only did check in take longer than expected once we arrived to the room we noticed several problems. The master bedroom lights did not work, we immediately noticed that the kitchen sink had a leak and there was a pool of water in the cabinet beneath. We also found a soaking wet washcloth which I presumed was dirty in the dresser drawer located in the guest bedroom. Though the front desk was quick to resolve the issues and give us a new room once we were ready to relax and use the soaking tub we noticed that the jets in the new bathroom were not working as well. After a 9 1/2 hour drive this was not what we expected for a relaxing problem free vacation. Update to my review. Now on day 2 of our stay and our key cards somehow were deactivated. After calling front desk they told us the issue was due to cellphones being near the keycards. Mind you we kept them in the folder given at check out and they never made contact with a phone. After all this once the jacuzzi tub was fixed I immediately decide that night to take a relaxing bath. Midbath we get a lovely knock on the door informing us that there was a leak below which my bath may have caused abruptly ending my moment of peace. Turns out when they "fixed the tub" they did not seal something correctly. read more

I was here the week of March 25th just for a small vacay and I loved it! The timeshare we stayed in was very spacious and had a beautiful contemporary design. We had a living room area that was conjoined with a full kitchen. The countertops in the kitchen were all granite and the refrigerator was stainless steel. The kitchen was fully equipped with an overhead microwave, oven and dishwasher. There was also a full size kitchen table that could easily fit 6 people. We had two bedrooms. One was a master bedroom with a vanity that was just beautiful! The bedroom I had was just a regular bedroom with a private bathroom. LOVED the bathroom so much. It was very spacious and the granite countertop was just gorgeous. The bed was queen-sized with plenty of pillows. I had a decent size closet, flat screen TV, and two side tables. The living room had a beautiful granite fireplace and above it was the DVD player and 32" TV. The patio was small but cute and had a small table with 4 chairs so you could sit out there and relax. Overall I was completely in love with the place. And another perk, the outlet mall is literally right up the street! read more

I recommend the Fresh Market for meats, fish and baked goods and Trader Joe's (located across the street) for beer/wine. *One complaint. They don't enforce the age limit in order to be in the hot tub (16). There were kids ranging in age from 1.5-9, all unsupervised in the tub. Shame on the parents for allowing this but the staff needs to enforce the rules as well and hold guests accountable to avoid a possible dangerous situation. read more

Very good resort. Plenty of space and nice and quiet. We came at a slower time so I can't really say anything about noise, but it's hard to believe it would be too loud here between the units. We found the staff to be polite and friendly, if not super anticipatory to our needs. We would definitely stay here again. read more

We spent last week at The Colonies at Williamsburg. The resort was top notch. We had a 2BR condo with full kitchen. It was immaculate upon entry and we had all the things we needed (pots, pans, dishes, etc.). The laundry facilities are in between the 2 units, so it's easy and FREE. They even give you detergent! The units are spacious and well built. We couldn't hear the TV in the kids room while we were sitting in the kitchen area. We didn't hear the upstairs neighbors until our last day. I suppose if they had little kids running around, it might have been noisy. Check-in and Check-out were extremely simple. The front desk staff were always polite and helpful. The location is great. 20 minutes from both Busch Gardens and Jamestown. 10 minutes to Colonial Williamsburg. 30 or so to Yorktown. The outlets are only 2 minutes away along with a Food Lion grocery store. They have a pretty indoor and outdoor pool facility and plenty of activities scheduled for each day. If they ask you to take a survey for the facility, know it's actually a timeshare presentation. And despite them saying it's only 45 minutes...be prepared to stay in there much longer. They put the hard sell on you...even if you are already a timeshare owner. But it wasn't mandatory...and we knew what we were getting into. Overall, this is a fantastic place! read more
