We are just checking out and are genuinely sad to leave. The condo we had was everything we could have wanted and needed! The kitchen was spacious and well designed, which was important given that we were shooting a cooking/travel video here this weekend. The bed was so comfy. Not too firm and not too soft. The decor was also perfect. Beachy enough to fit the vibe and the location but not overly kitschy. We brought our dog with us so had one of the dog-friendly units. The unit came with dog bowls, mats and other dog-welcoming features. I truly loved this place and would be very happy to make a return trip!! Stayed at condo 332. Awoke to pressure washing with water coming through the front door. Pressure washing continued, so we left for a few hours only to return with workers on the lanai spraying bleach water via pressure washer. Paid $275/day for a unit that was basically inaccessible. Would NOT recommend staying at Westport by the Sea. It is obviously going through major renovations which are not disclosed when reserving. Vacation by the Sea management has "no affiliation" with HOA of complex. read more

AWESOME little place to escape to for a weekend or week-long getaway to the WA coast. I had such a great time - I'd go every year if I could. Felt very lucky to be walking distance from the beach so that my hottie could take his surfing board out while my dog and I went frolicking along the beach. Very clean. Hot tub was excellent. Bring bottles of wine to drink in the evening as you watch the sunset or catch up on reading or while watching movies. I think it'd be a great place to get a group of friends to go out to to hang out for a weekend/week - there's a game room, pool, hot tub, beach, grill, ... plenty of wholesome fun. This place is a fantastic, well-maintained vacation community in a cute sleepy sea town. We came here in the off season with a group of friends to dig clams over the Thanksgiving weekend and had an absolute blast for three days. The condo completely met expectations and the master had a giant jacuzzi tub. Kitchen was reasonably stocked, but if you're an avid cook, bring your own knives and cutting board like I did, otherwise you might want to rip out your hair. Plenty of all the necessary cleaning products, towels, and paper products. We had a unit that overlooked the ocean; sipping on a coffee and watching the giant waves crash against the shore is a great way to start the morning. The unit came with a few board games and card, but the clubhouse is much better-stocked and had a solid movie rental collection. I tried to avoid checking with reality and the internets too much on vacation, but I was super grateful for the large 42" LCD TV this weekend because it was Apple Cup (gotta root for my Huskies!) and I was a little bummed about being out of town for that. If you want a relaxing quiet vacation, this is a great destination to consider and it's only 2.5 hour drive away from Seattle. read more

My wife and I rented a unit at VBS for her b-day in March. We've been there a couple of times and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately our last visit and stay there was ruined by one of the resident condo owners, who evidently is not affiliated with the VBS offices. As I was entering the elevator on the way up to our rental, a man in his late 50s early 60's was unloading what appeared to be a very expensive photo telescope. I said hello, but he began making snide and derisive comments like, "I thought I could avoid people like you! I was sure you'd be gone!" He then began to huff and puff sneering "TOURISTS!" He began hurriedly shuffling his equipment out of the elevator lobby, with condescending entitlement. I was astonished at his audacity and decided to let him know what a jerk he was. At that point he began trying to manipulate of the situation, insinuating that I was the one threatening him. He then began whining about how much money he pays to live there- blah blah blah. I understand that this is incident was not necessarily VBS' fault directly, but it still reflects badly on the establishment. Knowing that someone as self righteous as that lives in Building 9 makes me very weary of ever vacationing there again. Mission accomplished, and thanks for ruining the only vacation I will have in 2013. read more

Beautiful View of the Ocean. When they say ocean front they mean ocean front! So comfortable and cozy. Nice furniture that was comfortable and pretty.. Open up the patio door and you can hear the ocean. Want to go for a walk on the beach. . . it is right there with a path through the tall grass right to the sandy beach. Great price too for one bedrooms or two. We chose the two and it was worth it. Come here and enjoy the ocean. One sad thing is the ocean is getting closer and closer to these beautiful condos. I hope they can be renting them as long as possible. You can't fight nature. I love this place! read more

What a pleasant surprise! I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Westport. Prices are reasonable, the view is FANTASTIC and you're right on the beach. They were very thoughtful about the furnishings. This is the nicest place in Westport and it's right on the beach (not to mention just over two hours from Seattle). They have a pool, hot tub and fitness gym -- and several grills for BBQing. The best part for me is that they have pet-friendly units, since I have two little dogs and now I don't have to board them (and they love the beach too). The units are clean, you have all your regular appliances/kitchen stuff, and I love the jacuzzi tub in the master bath that most hotels don't even have. I won't stay anywhere else in Westport. read more

We stayed in 1315 and had a great weekend with the kids (and dogs). We were next to the dog area which worked out great for us. It was clean, most people pick up after there dogs. The unit had everything we needed and was very nice. Quiet being on the corner in the back building was the perfect place for our family with nap times and quiet early in the evening. We walked (with my 3 & 5 year old) down to the water everyday and we played in the waves. The hot tub was a great way to warm up after. The staff is very friendly and helpful. When going to the Ocean in Wa, we've always stayed in Seabrook or Pacific Beach. We were going away on a last min weekend getaway and nothing was available there...so we opted to find something in Westport. I am glad we ended up there, we booked a condo through vacations by the sea and had a great stay! Wonderful view of the beach, clean spacious and well decorated condo. Our third stay at Vacations By the Sea and it continues to be our Pacific beach destination. We again booked unit 922 and again the condo as well as the entire grounds were well maintained, well equipped and greatly enjoyed by us and our 2 yellow labs. This is the perfect destination if you are looking for somewhere to stay on the coast, and want to have a stay at a "home away from home" . The kitchens are well stocked (although we've learned to take a few items such as SHARP paring knives with us). The dogs love the proximity to trails and park, and we love the abundance of razor clams and local seafood ! The weather continues to be unpredictable at best, but that's the beauty of the coast, and we'd much rather be watching the waves and rain on the coast than watching it rain at home. We look forward to returning soon! read more

I plan an annual beach trip with friends every year... this is year number 4!! And each year we go to Vacations By The Sea in Westport, WA. Vacations By The Sea has stunning condos that overlook the beautiful Pacific Ocean. They are beachfront properties that spare no expense in making you feel at home! The condos are luxurious... they have marble countertops in the fully equiped kitchens and jetted jacquzzi tubs in the master bathrooms that are connected to the gorgeous master suites! The furniture is cozy but stylish, and the balconies make for a perfect spot to sit and relax and listen to the ocean. Most of the condos can fit up to 6 people comfortably. And the staff will do everything they can to make your visit an excellent one! I love that the staff know me by name and will try to get me the best deal possible when I bring my 10+ friends with me. Also, quite a few of the condos are dog friendly so make sure to bring your furry friend along! The beach is incredibly clean and not over-crowded. I often take my dog off leash as there is plenty of room to run and play. I usually go in the early spring as the weather is surprisingly nice, and Vacations By The Sea has winter rates that run through early June. So grab your friends, family, and pets and head to Vacations By The Sea... you're going to love it!!! And who knows... maybe this will become your annual vacation spot like it has for me and my friends and our dogs!! read more

We stayed in unit 915, in the past we stayed in unit 812 a few times. We chose 915 because it has 2 sets of bunk beds in the second bedroom (812 has a queen/twin bunkbed combo). We know the property and the area Pros: On the beach, nice accommodations, newer construction, condo decorated pretty, ample room for 6 guests. Dog friendly. Cons: millipedes in carpet and condo, poop on the carpet when we arrived! We spent the first 15 minutes of our visit cleaning and vacuuming. It looked like maybe the condo had been cleaned after last guest, and then left vacant for weeks/months? Needed dusting and vacuuming. The dishes in the cupboards were grimy. Although the condo sleeps 6, there were only enough matching plates, etc, for 4-5 people, and the cooking pots only held enough to cook for 2 (thank goodness we packed our own large skillet!). Despite having the thermostat set to off, in November, the condo was exceedingly warm (+73 degrees)-- I'm guessing the insulation of all the units kept the whole building warm-- there is no AC and no screens in windows and when we tried to open for ventilation, moths and mosquitoes flew in. Beds are mushy foam mattresses. There is no good ventilation for cooking (microwave fan vents back into kitchen). The dvd player was broken and (although management was very friendly) it took them 5+ hours to replace it (on a rainy Nov weekend-- it was our only source of entertainment other than board games). The only bedding was one thin blanket per bed-- which ended up not being a huge issue because the condo was so uncomfortably hot all night, but, still, not very comfy. Finally, on the last night, we were exhausted from hours of long walks on the beach in the cold Nov wind, so we crashed early and were sound asleep, when... at 10:30, some drunk idiots started an illegal fireworks show on the beach and parking lot-- loud shot-gun bangs went on for half hour, and we were worried for the safety of our cars and the buildings being hit by stray fireworks. I understand these things happen (bug infestations, bad DVD equip, dishes get lost, off season vacancy = dust, drunk idiots) and a lot of it is out of the management control, it just all combined to one pretty bad weekend-- especially for the price. We love the ocean, but no matter where you go in WA there are tradeoffs: the beach, distance, traffic, weather, dining options, condo condition, amenities, price etc. We've stayed at other VBTS condos but this visit was just a perfect storm of bad experiences. To top it off, our favorite, only, reliable restaurant in town changed ownership (which is often the case in these small towns that rely on seasonal tourism) and the cooking/menu was terrible. We won't be back :( read more

We didn't plan very far ahead but were able to reserve a room in the morning for an afternoon arrival. We thought the room (112) had a full bed in one room and two twins in another based on the pictures but were a little surprised upon arrival to find two full beds. It worked for us anyway, but having the bed count for each room would be helpful. The room clearly has pets come through as there's stains on the carpeting but there wasn't a pet smell so I didn't actually mind. Lots of millipedes outside by the back door and a few dead ones inside so eww on that front. The kitchen had what we needed for the meals we ate in and the table worked well for board games. Showers weren't anything special but they did the job. Lots of details to welcome pups but I'll admit that we didn't use any of them because we didn't know if they had been cleaned after the previous dog and we didn't want to take any changes of bringing home fleas or worse. The only thing that was disappointing was the cozy looking chair in the living room that was broken on one side enough that I wasn't sure the back would stay attached. Most people wouldn't keep a chair in that shape in their home and I think it's time to send it on it's way from the rental as well. read more

cannot say enough about this place - wonderful views, great clean and beautifully decorated units that are stocked / equipped well. extremely friendly and responsive staff (I forgot my coat; they mailed it back the next day; cable went out, they got it fixed quickly AND over the holiday weekend). Some units allow pets; the beach is wonderful and super close. This is one of my favorite places to stay hands down and I recommend them without any reservations. Had a fantastic time, the weather changed frequently and we were so happy to be near the beach. The view was amazing. The sound of the ocean along with a very comfortable bed provided the best sleep in a long time. Best place to stay it was our first time staying at Vacations by the Sea. I remember when they built these condos a few years ago right before the housing market reached its peak. Their sales pitch was that stormy weather was actually beautiful...Thoreau couldn't have put it better. But the fact of the matter is that when you have got a 20 -30 knot either blowing in your face or at your back it isn't really paradise. Before you write me off as a pussy foot...I should tell you that I am a cold water surfer (all seasons) and I learned to surf In Washington and have also surfed farther North in Tofino BC. Which brings me to my point. If you want to enjoy the beauty of the Northwest and also enjoy classy accommodations go to Tofino in BC of if in Washington go to La Push. You don't have a 30 mile north/south straight away for the wind to work itself into a fever pitch and you don't get stuck in a cheaply built shell of a condo. It isn't free to stay in these other places but you can make a much better argument for the quality of the program. In addition, for $200 bucks a night I don't appreciate being housed next to a condo "owner" who has a spoiled kid with a drum set, a boom box and dog that they like to play fetch with indoors with. Don't expect management to do anything about it because..."sorry we don't have any control over the unit owners". These units are far from sound proof especially when you have some jerk next door who seems content to make as much noise as they possibly can. The jumping around, the drums, the loud music. Give me a break! Save your $200 per night and put it in the bank to save for a real class NW vacation. Furthermore, have you been to Westport? You are not missing much if you skip it. * Oh and don't forget to follow all of their cleaning guidelines before you check out. If you forget to empty all of the trash cans in the proper dumpster or you don't put the towels in the right place you incur an additional cleaning fee. I will gladly do this because I will be so very happy to get out of here tomorrow! read more

Do not trust these people with your money. They stole our 500 dollar deposit and took an additional 300 dollars in unauthorized charges from our card in addition to their 250 dollar cleaning fee! I lived there for 7 months at the full rate. I had a couple of carpet stains I offered to fix myself (would have cost roughly 50 dollars to do professionally), and I was told not to worry about it, that that is what the cleaning fee was for. I will be having to sue the owner, and I recommend you avoid this place and go to one of the other hotels. While the location is nice, the services are awful. The facilities are filthy. The staff is very unfriendly, and the fact that there is no recycling for a place next to a protected park is appalling. We had lumpy beds and very little hot water. Do not get ripped off by this company! This man is not respected by the local community and he has no respect for the environment and nature one is meant to enjoy while there. read more
