Again, we had a great had a great stay. Perfect size in room in 301 for the 6 of us. The kids 10 and 12 still loved the indoor pool and met some friends. The staff were great also and cheerful. Hat's off to the night worker. Came down for something at 4:30 AM and asked if I wanted coffee as well. Just a couple of points of improvement. Water a couple of times wasn't hot in the shower. Also, I felt there were too many rules - a little more slack would be great. (e.g. no late checkouts and a charge if not out on time) Great weather for us too for beginning of April. I was in Ocean Shores for a work Conference. Canterbury Inn gives a hotel feel with every room individually owned , it gives it a uniqueness. All rooms are similar but with subtle owner differences which gives a cool vibe! Noticed they had a retro room will have to try next time! Location was close to town, shops, the beach and a short walk to the Convention Center which fulfilled my needs! You could go to a vanilla hotel. Why not try Canterbury with its uniqueness and charm! We try to visit Ocean Shores at least once a year if not more because we host a travel vlog on YouTube. Look for Braaescapades. We love going to the ocean and Ocean Shores is only 2 hours away from home. It scratches our travel itch and is just far enough away and different to help refresh us from our daily grind. So far however, we haven't found any establishments that stick out from the others and Canterbury Inn is no exception. I just don't understand the thought process of whoever owns these resorts, attractions and establishments. Maybe they just get so much business during the summer months to really not care? Maybe they don't get enough business and are struggling to get by? Each time we visit though, the entire town seems to have gone further downhill. The Canterbury is for all intents and purposes a mediocre resort but it's on par with everywhere else we've stayed. They have an indoor pool that was not heated enough. An uncomfortable hot tub that was also not hot enough. No air conditioning in our room however that may be a one off. No continental breakfast and a slew of rules to follow like those recent VRBO commercials that make fun of the AirBNB owners. We found a deal online. They have a room there on the third floor that seems like it might have been something else previously. It sits above the office area on the parking lot side of the building and has no view of the ocean. It is not a suite, but it was clean and comfortable. It has a small bathroom with a stand-up shower, a king size bed, mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. A small window looks out over the parking lot and the main drag. We paid a bit less versus the suites that they are asking closer to $150 per night and that's in the winter!!! Honestly, I would not have paid $150 per night for a suite on February 1st with the gale force winds, freezing rain and snow coming in around us but the price was just enticing enough to get us to book. This resort does a few things backwards in my opinion and I travel a lot so have some good comparisons. They keep your pool towels under your bathroom sink instead of in the pool area. If you lose one, they charge you $20 per towel once you've left. This means that you get one scrawny pool towel per guest, per stay. Not cool. The rooms each have a small DVD player in them and there is a nice size DVD library in the lobby, but they are not for borrowing. You must pay to rent these DVD's and if you do not return them by noon the following day, they hit you with another fee. They have signs all over the resort with rules telling what you cannot do, and it makes staying there a bit uncomfortable. The staff was friendly, but we didn't interact with them too much so that's all I can say about them. I didn't look too hard because I fell under the weather during our visit, but I didn't see any ice machine, nor did I see any signs pointing to one. What we did have were two tiny little ice trays in our mini fridge's freezer with 16 tiny little ice cubes. It was cute however, not practical. There is a nice lobby and an area that looks like a place where breakfast could be served but alas, they offer no such amenity and if they did, they'd probably charge you for that too. There is a cool trail leading from the back of the property out to the beach but be prepared for a long hike. Before you hit the tail, they have signage and even offer up some sand toys for the kids to borrow and take to the beach. No extra charge! Not sure what happens if you don't bring something back though. The trail head warns that you may encounter bears, and I wouldn't recommend traversing the trail after dark unless you bring your own light source. but once you come out of the forest like trail, you still have to hike another half to three quarters of a mile to get to the beach. Pro tip, just drive to the beach! Overall, I would definitely book the same room as long as it remains the same price, but I really hate staying at places where I feel like I'm being nickel and dimed to death. Especially when the amenities offered are subpar or nonexistent. I really would like to see all of the resorts at Ocean Shores step up their game and turn their accommodations into places that draw the masses. The ho-hum atmosphere of these resorts feels like they rely on the fact that there are limited options, and so people will stay there either way. That's the wrong attitude in my opinion and if I were a resort owner anywhere, especially a cool ocean side town like Ocean Shores, I would want to create an exceptional experience for my guests that would keep them talking about us and coming back time after time. I have been coming here since I was...5. It is not the newest on the block but has consistently made my visit with the friendly staff and homey rooms. This is the first year I've come since my mom passed. Her and my dad brought my brother and I here growing up, I learned to swim here as a child. It's bittersweet coming here now. Full of memories and years of experiences that I will never forget and are solidified for my kids as well. Thank you to the staff here for always making our stay the best ever. I was a little skeptical to stay here since it was below 4 stars, but I'm glad we ended up booking it. I have so many good things to say about this place. The decorations did not miss. It was octopus themed, and it was excellent. The pictures, the decor, everything was up to par (I personally loved the toilet paper holder that was an octopus). We stayed on the third floor as it allowed pets, and the room was very clean. There was also a balcony, which had a good view, and we did see a few deer as well. There were labeled towels and bowls for the dog which was very cute and thoughtful. We have husky, so we had her sleeping out on the balcony at night, and it worked out really well since she is well-behaved. We did not use the pool or anything so I can't really speak to that. I also overheard a conversation at the desk about if you are coming for a business trip make sure that the name on the card matches the name that's checking in since they did seem to have some issues with getting that figured out. Luckily, we were just staying for the clam festival so it wasn't business related, just thought I would get that information out there just in case. We loved our time spent at the Canterbury for a 3 night getaway. The price is incomparable to any other place we've stayed in Ocean Shores over the past 19 years. Why did we not stay here sooner? From now on Canterbury Inn will be our GO TO place for future stays. We had a studio on the 3rd floor at a very reasonable winter rate. The room was spectacular, as nice as any stateroom we've had on our 6 cruises on Holland America; so naturally we were very comfortable. The room had everything we would need and more; clean and comfortable. Don't even get me started on how comfortable the bed is. I could have spent my entire getaway in that bed had it not been for the beautiful weather. Every staff member I met was friendly and helpful. There is a smoking area in the front and rear of the building. Dogs are allowed, but we didn't bring ours on this trip. I cannot say enough how fabulous this place is. I have very mixed feelings about this property. The rooms were very clean which is our main priority but the lack of AC in the rooms left them smelling very musty & made for very warm sleeping. I didn't see anything on the website that stated they did not have AC in the rooms. I totally understand that it's not always warm enough here year round but for those of us of a certain age, AC is a necessity lol. Visibility of that would have been nice. We were also very put off by the gentleman that checked us in. He was rather abrupt and rude and said we just needed to open the door but that was not feasible on the first floor in our opinion. Found this on hotels.com for a steal. What a cute cute place staff was super nice rooms were very clean and updated. Even though my room was across from the pool it was still quiet They are very good about keeping the curfew of the pool so there isn't noise. It was nice to have a full little kitchen The only appliance was missing was a dishwasher which was okay. The lady at the front desk in the evenings was super nice and pleasant to chat with. I would definitely stay again if my business sends me there. My only teeny weenie complaint would be the bath towels were scratchy. But it won't deter me from coming back. I love everything about the Canterbury Inn. Every summer my family and I come for a week. The location is perfect because it is near all the tourist attractions and a trail to the beach. The lot it's on has a place to eat outside and a place for kids and dogs to play. There rooms are really nice and clean and have a cool view on the first level to the top! If it's a cold day I would recommend the pool because it is heated, has showers to rinse off, and a hot tub. Although the hot tub is meant for only 14 and above and they do occasionally come and check things out. If you are a little bored at night you can come down to the lobby and read a book or rent movies. Also let's say you forgot something at home or would like a souvenir from the hotel they have items that are for affordable prices. The staff is really nice and caring and will help you if you have a complaint ( Which you wouldn't) or need anything. Don't read those bad reviews they just want to deter you so they can have the place to themselves. If you want to have a great time in ocean shores, this is the place for you! read more

Good points of our stay were clean room and bathroom, clean and comfortable bed, plenty of room to stretch out, onsite laundry available, nice outdoor patio seating and a the walk to the beach wasn't too far. The staff was helpful and friendly. Didn't try the pool because there was a large group of kids playing in the pool, but there is a pool and jacuzzi. Clean and cute place to stay for a very reasonable proce. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. The unit had a small kitchenette with electric stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishes, etc. Coffee maker with coffee provided as well. Ocean sound can be heard when sliding doors are open. We were tempted to stay another night as it was so comfortable and clean. But we need to head home after being on the road for 10+ days. We came here on a little after Christmas getaway with the family. It's not the best time to go but it's our favorite town to escape to and we come here a couple times a year. This is our second time staying at this hotel and we do love it here. The hospitality at the front desk is amazing in particular Harmony herself. We loved our suite. It was cleaned, well stocked, very spacious and looked out for our doggy. The ONLY reason I'm giving it a 4 star is because of the pool area. The hot tub was warm (not hot) and the jets were WEAK. When I go to a hotel, I want to roast and relax in the hot tub with hard jets on my back...and I didn't get that experience at this hot tub. The pool wasn't very warm but my husband and daughter still had a good time. Overall we loved our stay, and will be back but would love a few updates to the hot tub area. read more

After a bad experience at Shiloh Inn, which was very unwelcoming, it was suggested that we try Canterbury Inn, which was a breath of fresh air for us from the time we turned into the parking lot. This is the best Condo/Hotel in Ocean Shores and we've stayed at most of the others. First of all, the reservation process was super easy when using their website. The hotel is actually a condo and the rooms are rented out when not in use by their owners, this means that every room/suite is unique. The entire building is absolutely spotless and the staff is super friendly and efficient. We loved the kid friendly pool area and the large parking lot. We were upgraded to the 3rd story, which has a wonderful view of the ocean, for free! So cool! The one bedroom suite was perfect, with a nice kitchenette, fully equipped with all the utensils we needed to prepare and serve meals and having a separate living room was nice, we adults could watch our own programs while the kiddos watched cartoons in the other room. The two queen beds were very comfortable, with nice duvets and extra pillows. The grounds were well kept and there is a nice BBQ area and a little playhouse for the kids. So other than getting kicked out because my spouse was sick and I made noise, they way they handled the situation was un professional. Positives: Full kitchen, great view, Pet friendly Negatives: Upholstery was a little gross and stinky, Can't smoke on the balcony so you have to walk 25 ft from the building, Wifi can't really be used (Slow, not allowed to stream so no youtube, netflix, or show websites), Elevator is so small you can barely fit the luggage caddy in (If you have a wheelchair you would be the only person able to fit), you will get the police called on you if you create a disturbance, getting sick and throwing up will get you kicked out, Zero tolerance or ability to accommodate special situations. My Experience: After check in, filled the luggage caddy and had to pick up one end to get into the elevator. Once we got to the room I started unloading and noticed a little bit of a funk, nothing the windows couldn't fix. The kitchen was nice and fully prepared for my Thanksgiving dinner I was going to prepare. A friend recommended the room and he was staying 5 doors down. I prepared my dishes for the next day and about 3am was awoken by my spouse having a Porpheria attack (Highly painful liver condition). I misplaced my keys and Had to run to my friends room to borrow his truck. I ran down stairs and met the Manager on the stairwell who stated I was making alot of noise. I told her I had a medical emergency and had to take my spouse to the hospital. And I drove my husband out. My friend said that he got a police officer at his door asking if I stole his truck. He obviously told the police what actually happened. Come to find out later the management lied and said they called paramedics. He didn't want to go to the ER and would rather stay in a nice hotel. So we came back and I nursed him while he was in the bathtub. It was around 5 so I started my Thanksgiving turkey. Once I put it in I was about to lay down to get some sleep and got a call from the front desk. They asked if someone was sick, which my husband was. They then said they had multiple complaints and people were threatening to not pay because of us and we were getting kicked out. THEN SHE TACKED ON THE RUDE COMMENT "This isn't that kind of hotel". Which I assume they thought we were doing drugs or something. I gave my friend all the food I prepared and transported the turkey to his oven. They gave us my deposit and the money back for the next day. They stated it was cause of the noise my husband was making and me running around. I didn't assume my frantic 30 minutes at tops trying to help my husband was noisy enough to wake half the hotel, but that is what I was told. I made some friends with my neighbors over our dogs, and apologized when I saw them (Two and 3 rooms down). They said "I didn't hear anything". Unprofessional, Zero tolerance, No warning before consequences, we should have been told after the 1st complaint to try and keep it down. but I apparently woke and upset "HALF" (she said half the hotel was upset) of the hotel. I have an assumption the management had some personal issues with us and wanted us gone regardless. I have been in many hotel, La Quinta is a high recommendation. But from Small owned businesses to chains I have never had a call from the front. This was an emergency that already was a damper on our vacation. But now we don't get a thanksgiving, and I have to tend to my husband from my car until I get a new place. I feel this was poorly handled and will not be going back. read more

This is one of the best coastal hotels I have ever used. From what I gather each room is a condo owned by an outside person, but is collectively run by a hotel. My wife and I rented a studio room for one night in December. The room was very clean and came with a kitchenette. It was also dog friendly. There was a stack of special blankets, towels, water/food bowls, and treats for any visiting puppers. The staff were super friendly and very accommodating. The hot tub was a plus as well. We didn't use the pool, but it looked very well maintained. In the morning before we left we opened up the drapes to admire the view and were greeted by very friendly deer (we were on the ground floor). This is a fantastic hotel to use for your vacation or weekend getaways. (Also very near the beach) read more

November 2024: I have stayed in a pet-friendly one-bedroom suite on the first floor and second floor. Each apartment-style unit is individually owned and uniquely decorated. I like the attention to details. The doors close quietly. There are ADA rails near the toilet. There are dog towels provided so you can wipe paws after a walk and also keep furniture clean. The kitchen appliances are updated stainless steel. The housekeeping team does an excellent job. Everything is clean and tidy! It is located in a convenient area. The parking lot is big. There is an elevator. There are pet areas. The clam cleaning station outside with the sink and hose is excellent and very helpful. There are a lot of rules that you need to read through prior to staying, but the rules are all common sense and reasonable. The price is on the higher side but the amenities and atmosphere are worth it. To note: you can't stream shows via apps on the TVs. I value cleanliness and quiet at a hotel, and Canterbury delivers. My good friend booked us for a 4 night stay, last November 2021 for my birthday. What a great place! 1st time staying here. Great price for a 1 bedroom suite with a full kitchen, dining area, living room, fireplace, great view of the dunes/ocean, and a balcony. Very comfortable, covid precautions in place, elevator, nice lounge room with movies, books, & games, awesome pool area with hot tub. Everything I like in a hotel in my favorite beach town! The staff are all very friendly, offer great customer service, and very helpful. Room was very clean, 2 beds in the bedroom (very cozy), comfy couch & chair in living room, nice dining room table & chairs, plenty of room to cook & counter space in the kitchen. I attended a small conference being held at the Canterbury Inn October 6-8th 2023. A friend and I shared a one bedroom condo with two large comfortable beds and enjoyed our stay. Renovations were happening during daytime business hours only. I have stayed in hotels where construction continued until 10 pm. Within our group there were a few glitches in some reservations that seemed to be quickly resolved. I do recommend you read your confirmation email thoroughly giving your full attention. We utilized the "Social Room" (see pictures 33-35, 61 on the Canterbury website) for a nice awards ceremony. This was a perfect area. While no one in our group brought pets, some of the rooms booked were "pet friendly" rooms including a welcome bundle for your dogs (see pictures 63, 86, and 91 on the Canterbury website). My condo #205 was simply delightful. I entered several other condos that were very nice as well. I wish I could have stayed another day to take advantage of the horse rides on the beach. Due to our conference schedule, I had no time for the pool or hot tub although I had my swimsuit with me. I would joyfully book a small conference and/or stay at the Canterbury Inn again. The short version is - I am so glad we chose the Canterbury Inn. It's perfect, it's got everything you need, and it really is CLEAN. There is no competition in Ocean Shores IMO The detailed version is - My ten-year-old and I drive 2.5 hours to Ocean Shores once or twice a year. Each year the accommodations and inventory seem to get worse with less options. This Summer I made and cancelled four reservations before keeping this one at the Canterbury Inn. It's so hard to select a place you haven't been to before because the reviews are all over the place and it's hard to tell what's real. One review will be amazing and the next is horrible and dirty, moldy, and closed pool. I can't believe some of these places continue to stay open. I won't name names but I will say that the Canterbury is my new spot for Ocean Shores. It's a bit more than some of the other places but it's worth it. To start with, it smells good when you walk in the lobby. I don't know if it's air freshener or cleaning products, but it smelled and looked very clean. It's an old apartment or condominium building where the units are individually owned, but it's run like a hotel with a 24 hour front desk. Some units welcome pets, others don't. We chose one that didn't because I was worried about a dog smell. Dog owners probably don't mind but I can't handle dog smell, so we paid a bit more for unit 205. I noticed other rooms had the same furnishings and bedding so although it's owned individually the decorating seems to be consistent. The only things wrong with this place is the brown paneling in the pool area and the old brown unit and closet doors. I'm sure they're from the 1970's. Everything works, it would just make everything look more modern if they were at least painted white or a light color light the kitchen cabinets. Oh and the balcony's are in need of upgrade.....kinda scary but it held me. Oh and although the pullout couch was modern, that mattress is too thin for anyone to sleep on so if you reserve this room and NEED the pullout couch, you might want to save that for little kids. Deer were hanging around the back and the front of the property. It was very quiet. If your neighbors let their door slam, you'd hear that or a dog bark every once in a while. All the staff are polite and speak to you. And when I say clean, I mean clean. Not even a speck of dust in the corner hiding, no smells other than cleaning products. Oh and good TV. They have Direct TV with all the channels. The remote controls were in little plastic bags indicating they'd been cleaned from the last tenant. The kitchen was well appointed, all the appliances were new and clean. I would have preferred a Keurig but I made do with the coffee maker. Oh and the pictures on the booking sites don't do any of the properties justice. Especially The Canterbury Inn. We used both the pool and the hot tub, clean and operating well with skylight windows. We travel alone quite often so we like having the hotel vibe of the beds in the same room but still have a kitchen, balcony and full-on dining and living area. We'll be back! read more

If you are looking to stay somewhere in Ocean Shores look anywhere but here. We called ahead of time to make sure the hotel was ADA compliant since my mother-in-law is now wheelchair bound, we were told yes so we booked three 2-bedroom rooms for 5 days. We were given rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor. We get there and find the smallest elevator I have ever seen in my life, it took multiple tries to get her into the elevator. Then when we got out and to go down the hallway there is a door you have to pass through that is anything but wide enough, so after making some adjustments to her wheelchair we got her through. We asked if there was a way we could be moved down to the first floor and was told no. So my mother-in-law stayed in the room a majority of the time, and only left 2 MAYBE 3 times the entire time we were there. The staff was also rude, every single front desk person we talked to had an attitude towards us, and they were not accommodating in any sense of the word. I will not be recommending this place to anyone. read more

We really liked the one bedroom condo we rented at the Canterbury Inn. We were on the bottom floor and had a visitor. The visitor was a local deer. She walked right up to the patio door to see if we had an treats for her. It was very convenient walking to the beach. The trail is from the back of the property. We had no view because the vegetation blocked it but wondered if the upper floors might have one ...hmmm. May have to check for a future visit, perhaps. We really liked the room and the location. There's a pool, a sitting room, book exchange, laundry and plenty of other things to keep you busy. This location requires pre-payment so it's different than an ordinary hotel but then again, it was also bigger. We were also surprised to have to agree to a $50 damage charge to our credit card at check-in. I held my breathe that we wouldn't have any difficulty getting it off our bill. We didn't. It is much closer to a three star hotel in terms of its physical plant as it is a bit dated and a little tired from wear and tear. But the rooms were very clean, large and well laid out. The suite was nice and clean, for the age of this resort we were pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately, there was one person that tainted the stay for us. The first interaction I whitnessed with Morgan she was very short with a couple customers playing with their dog on the the back lawn off leash even though there was no one around. She came storming out of the lobby and said "You absolutely can't have your dog off leash." I was across the lawn and she was loud enough to catch my attention and the interaction made me feel uncomfortable the way she admonished them so bluntly. I'm sure they felt belittled. The next interaction my kids were playing in the pool and we were the only ones in the pool area. Morgan came into the pool and immediately admonished me for not having my mask on (we were the only ones in the pool area) I apologized and put it on immediately and did NOT have to be asked again (no matter what Morgen says you should probably lean on believing your guests). In my Google review Morgan tried to state I was asked multiple times, this is a blatant lie and she is trying to save face. Then she said we have guests that want to swim and the time limit is 1 hour (see picture of rules posted in room this is not mentioned). I said ok but had read the rules and it states that there is a limit of 10 people at a time and limit stay to 1 hr when the limit is met to allow other guests a chance to swim. Seeing how there was only three of us that 1hour time limit didn't apply! I went back out to the lobby where Morgan was chatting with the other guests that wanted their one child to play in the pool and asked for clarification and when I asked she was very short again and said "I don't know this is my first pandemic". First off this is just poor customer service and second of all very condescending. She then stated if we did not leave the pool they would have to shut the whole pool down. I offered to keep my kids on one side of the pool for the other guest and this did not satisfy her. I think the rules need to be clarified because I booked this place exclusively so the kids could play in the pool. We had many other options along the strip. I'm upset and frustrated that my kids stay had to be cut short because the one staff member felt power hungry and couldn't learn to compromise for their customers. I realize in today's times it's hard for any business to get a poor review, but the way Morgan treated my family and the couple with the dog I felt it needed to be shared and if it saves another family from having a crummy stay then it was worth it. Also the manager that responds to these poor ratings always places blame on the guests when a customer is dissatisfied with their stay, this is poor practice. Learn some humility and stop placing blame and just apologize it will get you further. People are not stupid and they know when they see a repeating pattern. read more

Not bad at all. Stayed on the 3rd floor, room is pretty decent size. My only complaint is the bathtub is tiny! I am a bath person but if you dont mind then the shower is just fine. Everything was clean and explained to us about the rules, no smoking, pool limited, masks in common areas. Kitchen is stocked with dishes and a dishwasher. View is alright and the balcony is fine. Beds are good and we enjoyed our stay. Would come back. Fire place was awesome! read more

If you stay here please don't feed the coyotes you see in the brush outside the back lawn! They will associate the area with food so anyone walking small dogs wouldn't be safe. Common sense folks! read more

Very clean, comfortable. One of the best dog friendly accommodations on the beach in the PNW. No cats due to people on site with allergies. We stayed in the most economical studio unit on the ground floor across the hall from the indoor pool and spa. Even though at times there were kids in the pool, we didn't hear the noise in our room. They even had adults only pool time. I appreciated the grassy lawn right outside our patio door (look out for the occasional coyote). Beach paths were still a little swampy this time of the year. Internet is slow, but works, and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby if you must. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. read more

Amazing hotel. Staff is great. Rooms are super nice. Super cozy. Beds were super hard though. For me too hard- but my husband thought they were great . So subjective to personal preference. Drawback rooms had no AC. But for ocean shores usually not necessary but weekend we were there was super hot. read more

My family stayed here one night in the middle of a long road trip, but definitely won't be staying here again. After many hours of driving, I arrived at the hotel lobby in the evening to encounter surprisingly rude staff. I waited in the lobby for the staff member to finish checking in another guest at the front desk. Her tone with that guest was neither warm nor inviting, and she seemed to be rather annoyed by the guest altogether. When it was my turn, I placed my ID on the counter, containing an address and last name that both match my husband's. He had booked the reservation under his name online and was out parking and gathering our belongings with our 6 year-old son at the time. The staff member asked if my husband was around and didn't allow me to check my family in. I had to go outside to retrieve my husband. When my husband approached the desk, the staff member was quite rude to him. She delivered a condescending response to every question he asked regarding the location of our room, whether or not there were other entrances to the building, etc. For example, when he asked if the sliding door by the front desk was the only door, her response was "that's THAT door." Once we were in our room, which was on the first floor, we were all exhausted and went straight to bed. Even with ear plugs, it was quite difficult to sleep with all the stomping and pounding noises from upstairs, which continued very late into the night. It sounded like people were having a track meet above our room. In the morning, I was looking around the room for the WiFi password before we were leaving so I could pull up the map for the next part of our journey. I couldn't find it anywhere and we were trying to hurry to pack up, so I picked up the landline to call the front desk. I dialed the number of the hotel but it didn't work, so I called the hotel number from my cell phone. The staff member who answered was quite rude and was clearly very irritated that I called the hotel number rather than dialing zero from the landline. Quite frankly, I have not needed to contact any hotel front desk in years, so had forgotten this was the protocol. Regardless, I asked her for the password and instead of just answering my question, she replied, "Didn't you know that the WiFi password is written on the envelope your room keys came in?" Clearly I did not, or I wouldn't have asked for the password. Since I wasn't allowed to check in, I didn't see any of that information, which was buried under our bags on the table. That same information could be conveyed in a polite manner. Even if the room had been quiet, we would not consider returning due to the poor customer service. read more

Stayed the night at the Canterbury with a friend and my 2 dogs. I was skeptical because some of the bad reviews but was very pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and we first had booked a studio but for some reason not given was upgraded to a 1 bedroom. The decor was adorable and on the first floor which made it very convenient since we had the pups that need potty breaks. I honestly think that if more people read the policy's that are sent out when you book there would be a lot less poor reviews. We will definitely be back to stay again. The location was great with the beach access and close to the shops and restaurants. My only complaint if I had to make one was they only put out one dog bone out when we arrived with two dogs but luckily I have small dogs so I could break it in half. read more
