We stayed in boat "Q" for one night and wished we had planned to stay longer to take advantage of the well supplied kitchen setup and the fun atmosphere. Our two kids loved having their own unique sleeping spaces. We enjoyed playing board games and watching a movie and sleeping to the sound of the rain falling outside. The check-in instructions were easy to follow and Steve was kind enough to tell us about the history of the inn. We would definitely stay again. read more

Bathroom was very small but clean. The tv was probably a 13" from the 80's but I wasn't there to watch tv. The entire place had that "old" smell. Stayed here last weekend. Not a bad little place and what I considered to be a great value. $50/night for a very soft but decent bed, world's smallest TV (but a big channel selection), cute antique-y furniture, and green bathroom fixtures. We stayed in one of the rooms on the outside, but there are a number of rooms in the house and two cottages detached from the building. Located on the main drag into Westport, it's a 3 minute drive to the beach, probably a 15 minute walk. They allow dogs, so my beloved Riley was able to stay with us and meet the ocean for the first time. The main supermarket is a stone's throw away, and there are decent bars within walking distance. The owner is a informative and talkative man, completely interested in helping his guests find the right activity for them. Very chilled out atmosphere! They allow guests to use the downstairs portion of the main house to hang out it. I would gather that in the winter, it's probably a fantastic place to sit in front of the fire and play cards before bed. Too much daylight in the summer to do that though, so we didn't take advantage of it. All in all, I'd go back, recommend to a friend, and recommend it to you. read more

Last Christmas, we were having a really tough time coming up with a gift for my boyfriend's dad. His mom is easy to shop for, but his dad is one of those guys who buys what he needs and doesn't want more than that -- it gets tough. So I suggested my boyfriend take him out on a charter fishing boat, the way the family did when my boyfriend was still living at home with the 'rents. Of course, that meant it was my responsibility to keep his mom occupied while the men were out on the boat -- as well as to be the ultimate decider in regards to accommodations. Based on the Yelp reviews, we opted for Glenacres, which is just a couple miles from the water and seemed cozy and most importantly, clean and reasonably priced. Coming from Seattle, on a Friday night... well, to say we ran into traffic was an understatement. When we called to let the staff know we would be later than desired, they were more than willing to put our keys in our rooms for us and allowed us to let ourselves in. We had adjoining rooms [and thoughtfully, boyfriend and I opted for the room with the set of keys that let us into his parents' room, rather than the other way around!] and each room had a small television with cable, a couple chairs, a table, and its own bathroom. It should be noted: my boyfriend enjoyed his easy access to Jersey Shore [we don't have cable at home]. On Saturday afternoon [post man-boat voyage] we came back to a clean room [hooray!] and we met the proprietor, who was a very kind man who welcomed us to lounge about in the communal area, grab coffee or whathaveyou and gave us some tips on where to visit in town. Boyfriend's parents had a loud snorer in the room next to them, but that was really the only downside to our stay -- and obviously Glenacres can't be held responsible for that ;) We'll probably be back soon, seeing as Father's Day, Birthdays and Christmas all come once a year! read more

This place has a lot of charm and character. They offer different types/sizes of accommodations, they seems to be all reasonably priced. It's a block away from Red Apple Market, a couple of minutes away from beach access and not too far from downtown. We stayed in a two story cottage with another couple. They brought their dog and we brought our two dogs with us. It has a fully fenced backyard for dogs to run around. It was perfect for our three dogs! I believe that's the intention of this backyard. It's not a pretty looking backyard, but we didn't have to worry about our dogs damaging anything since there were nothing but a space to run. There are big front yard for people to hang out and play horseshoes. I felt our dogs are very welcomed here since they even had a welcome basket for dogs. The cottage has a bed on each floor. Upstairs bedroom is a little more private but not completely private since there's only half door at the end of the stairs. Downstairs bedroom situation is little interesting since it's a part of living space facing to the kitchen and living room. There's no actual "bedroom", just a bed. There's a five piece bathroom with a powerful jet tub upstairs. It is beautifully remodeled&updated, it has a five star hotel feel to it. There's a powder room downstairs. Because of this layout you are going to share the whole house with your group, so be mindful who you are going there with. We were there with our really close friends, but if you prefer a little more privacy, you may want to book two rooms instead of a cottage. Steve the owner is very helpful and knowledgeable about the history of this inn. You can tell he has invested his heart to this inn. This place has a lot of history and filled with interesting antique stuffs. They are still doing more remodeling and updating. He said that currently they are working on the rooms on third floor of the main building, which will offer beautiful view of the ocean. If you like something with a little more character than typical ocean condo/motel, this place is the winner. I would recommend it to anyone, but especially to people traveling with dogs! read more

A cute little place with more personality than the average budget hotel! We paid $65 for the Elk River room, which had garden access, two beds, a microwave and mini-fridge. The decor is quaint and country-style (not really my thing), but clean and cheerful. The room was quite chilly when we arrived and we had to crank up the heat, but the thermostat goes from 1-10 rather than by degrees, so we had to keep adjusting it to get to a comfortable temperature. Our room was on the very end, so the water took several minutes to heat up, but there was plenty for our showers once it arrived. The bathroom was tiny and definitely only for one person. The bed was comfortable. We only saw one outlet in the room and one of the plugs was being used by the bedside lamp, so charging phones/devices can be a challenge. Depending on which room you get, you may have access to the garden/deck out back. There's a pretty gazebo and a spacious area for seating, although it was way too chilly to linger out there during our stay. You also get free run of the large common room at the front of the house, though this wasn't pointed out to us during our check-in so we didn't really spend any time there. The owner is very friendly and chatty, happy to give recommendations on local sightseeing and dining. He pointed us to the cranberry bogs nearby, which are worth a visit if you've never seen one. He said they're going to start food service later this year, so it may turn into more of a B&B, although it will be open to the public as a restaurant too. Overall, this is an economical, clean, and quiet place to stay, especially if you're mainly looking for somewhere to leave your stuff and sleep. read more

This inn is absolutely delightful. My family stayed in their two-story cottage for a weekend and had a wonderful time. The customer service of Steve and his staff was awesome. It seems to be family-run and, if so, his teenage son had a great flair for customer service. Not everyone in my family had stayed in a cottage, historic or otherwise and my children absolutely loved it. Even after day 1 they were talking about coming back. With some places we've stayed, we feel ready to go home after a few days. But I felt I could easily spend a week at Glenacres just sitting and reading a book. My only complaints: -despite the ability for the 2-story cottage to have 6 people in beds, the kitchen table only had four seats and adding a couple took up more room in the kitchen/dining area. -there were many lights out when we arrived -MOSQUITOES! We were fairly eaten alive just unpacking. Steve even acknowledged it was a problem. I'm not sure how they could handle that except to make sure there is no standing water...or if it is that it's treated. It didn't ruin the trip, but wasn't great. read more

The cottage was really only a 2 1/2 star, but the owners where fantastic about booking a last minute late arrival and accommodating for our pet on a busy summer weekend. It appears that they are in the process of upgrading their cottages, so I'd definitely stay here again. Our family stayed at the Hilltop Cottage. We went to Westport to get together and go crabbing. We loved the cozy, rustic cottage and the complimentary scones and coffee each morning! Could not have been more satisfied. I took my family to the coast for the Grayland Cranberry Festival in October. When we arrived, owner Steve wasn't at home, but he'd left instructions on how to make ourselves at home. Since it was the off season, he upgraded our room free of charge. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Glenaces. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Steve gave us great recommendations for things to see and places to eat. He graciously spent quite a bit of time telling us about the history of Westport, which increased our enjoyment of the area. Because we travel with our dogs, we especially appreciated the doggy welcome basket, which included towels to dry wet feet and biscuits. We went to Westport in October for a retreat from busy Seattle for a couple of days and were not disappointed. The area was quiet and restful. In the late afternoon, deer grazed in the field next to the cottage. Glenacres is just a couple of minutes driving time to the marina and beach walks. Westport Winery, which was on our to-see list is about 10 miles from Westport and well worth the drive. We'd definitely visit Glenacres again! read more

Let's start with noncontrollables: the town is centered on the marina. That being said, unless your chartering or partaking in a marina related event, not much going on. All but one of the shops were closed....April is still off season here so we drove 20 miles to Aberdeen which is larger and has more to offer. Controllables: the inn itself presented itself with high hopes. The exterior grounds are nice but once inside, the musty, old feeling was prominent. Don't get me wrong, old can be charming but there's a fine line between charming and well, old. We had bedroom #1...small but adequate for a single nights stay. Again, musty but we opened the windows and aired out. The bed sagged and eventually, I got up at 5a...I was done. I suppose there is something offered for a breakfast in some capacity, but at this point we were ready to get on with our mini road trip and head to Olympia. Catching breakfast on the way seem9ed best. Here's the thing: we stopped at a pharmacy/gift shop downtown and the owner was less than enamored with our choice of lodging. Her one positive was that there is some light renovation going on (one bedroon) but the place has seen better days. So, if your visiting in the summer, willing to do something at the marina....or drive, you would be better served skipping Westport. Follow up: after sharing with the inn keeper, he offered to refund half our rental rate. I see this as an acknowledgement and positive effort of good will. read more

Loved the Victorian furnishings and the large common room with it's wood burning fireplace. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable of the area. A good place for a steampunk tea or a knitting retreat and the room prices are very reasonable. read more

We stayed in room 5 or the Rose room. The room was quaint and very clean. They do seem to be in transition when it comes to accommodations and rates. The Rose room had a twin as well as the expected queen (comfortable). I'd call to make sure the website is correct before reserving. The staff were helpful and hospitable. This is not like the other dive hotel/ motel in West Port. Although, the prices are low, the rooms have an historic charm while the rest of the house which is completely accessible to you is full of character and charm. They serve complimentary tea and coffee to guests and they have some light breakfast options for sale that change. read more

My sweetheart and I stayed here last Saturday with a few of our friends. I'm not sure if I loved the house or Steve, the owner, more. Let's start with the house. The house was built in the late 1800s, and is one of the oldest buildings in Westport. The communal area had plenty of cute, comfy couches and was very cozy. There is a nice record collection and record player that we took advantage of. Our rooms were $50, very clean, and each had its own bathroom and shower. My partner and I slept incredibly well. I'm not sure if it was the pillows, or the bed, but it was just right. We all agreed that Steve was a super nice guy. He went out of his way to accommodate us. For example, he brought out a microwave so we could heat up our burritos, he found us a corkscrew for our wine, and he even built us a fire in the common room so we could play cards. I can't say enough good things about the Glenacres Inn. I have stayed at the Chateau Westport before which was smelly, overpriced, and impersonal. The Glenacres Inn is the way to go. We will be back for sure! read more

When reading reviews about accommodations in Westport, WA, it is important to remember that this is not the French Riviera. Five Diamond accommodations are not to be found. Westport is a fishing town. It is not a tourist hot-spot. Me and my wife stayed in the Studio Cottage this last weekend. We booked the cottage, because our 2-1/2 year old corgi barks when we stay in hotels. Someone next door closes the door and he barks. Someone upstairs walks across the room and he barks. We always try to find a single story hotel or a cottage to rent. The cottage was clean. It is pretty much as in the pictures. Some of the furniture was moved around, but the pictures give a good overall view of the cottage. The most important comment was the cottage was clean. The appliances worked. The cottage did not have A/C, but that is generally not needed on the Washington coast. The windows on the west and east sides of the building opened. This provided good air flow with the constant coast breeze. I have two complaints about the cottage. The first is something noted by others who have reviewed the inn - The shower is small. That said, it was not the worst shower I have taken. There was decent water pressure and lots of hot water. The main problem is that one of the two beds sagged. This happened to be the bed we elected to use our first night. This really needs to be corrected. The other bed was just fine. Even with these two issues, we will definitely look to stay here for our next visit to Westport. read more

My husband and I stayed at the end the weekend of August 28 for two nights. We were there for charter boat fishing. Yes the room we stayed in No. 10 was small as was the bathroom w/ the standup shower, but it was really clean. Yes it is an older facility, but it was much nicer than I expected. I've certainly stayed at worse for more money. Steve the Inn keeper was very nice and welcoming. This will most definitely be my first choice when we come back to Westport. read more

The beds were nicely made, (not damp from the very high humidity) and the beds and bedding were very comfortable. 5-stars for that part, which is most important. The cottage is NOT insulated. Although we heated the bedrooms when we got there, when we were going to sleep we turned the heaters off. Big mistake because we were both freezing by 5:00 AM. Once we heated the rooms again things were fine, but we didn't expect the rooms to cool down that much during the night. We were there only one night and shared the B part of the Salt Marsh cottage which had two nice sized separate bedrooms and the tiniest bathroom we'd ever encountered. Although the tile around the square tub/shower (very shallow) was obviously newly installed the tub looked dirty/stained, the rest of the bathroom sink and toilet surround had not been replaced and where the new tile met the old plastic surround there was a hole near the floor so we had bugs running around the floor and in the tub (that we did not use) which freaked out my friend. The hall/antiroom/side entrance was pretty small as well and one of the chairs had no padding so we used a shammed pillow off the bed to sit on for comfort. It also had a table with a TV (no standard channels) with a horrible picture (the color was almost gone) and a stand with a microwave that was very useful. We set the clock on the microwave because there was no clock radio provided. There was a couch (too big for the space) and a fridge in the back bedroom. An extra that we requested and they provided was a coffee maker, but there was no creamer, sweetener and coffee stirrers or spoons. However, the cups were great so, instead, we used the microwave and some stuff we brought for coffee. My friend made some tea that was provided. I thought the water out of the tap tasted great and it made good coffee and tea. We had trouble with the blinds. There was a high window over the bed in the back (west) bedroom, however, the blinds were broken and we could not raise them or close them so they remained cocked at an odd angle, partially open. The blinds over the 8-light entry door were free swinging and one of the slats was broken when we arrived. Just trying to get our bags into the cottage caused us to break off two more slats that caught on our luggage. I would suggest a single light door with interior blinds that can be raised and lowered, opened or closed, sandwiched between the double glass panes for a replacement. Winter at the beach is hard on everything there (although the sun was out on Saturday, Feb. 10th) and moss was growing everywhere, even on the parking pad and the walkway to the cottage. My friend and I were concerned it would be slippery but fortunately aggregate was used so it was only partially so. The owner/manager was in the parking lot when we drove in. By prearrangement he greeted us by name (I'd e-mailed earlier), put in the coffee maker and opened the unit for us and left the keys on the entry table. He said he would be gone but to call the cell number on the Inn's porch chalkboard. The Historic Glenacres Inn was built in 1898 so later, when we thought he'd be back, we went to the Inn (climbed all those steps) but the door was locked. We never went back so we don't know what the rest of the property has to offer. There are other cottages on the property and a gazebo on the eastern side of the main building but we didn't go up there and look. Did this work out for us? Yes, we needed some comfortable beds. Was it what we expected? No, not really suitable for two old ladies coming to attend an art class. What is this great for? Families with kids. The Salt Marsh part A of our cottage has a separate bedroom with a queen-sized bed, an adjoining bath, a living room/eating area a kitchen and a separate entrance. Where we stayed was the Part B unit which can be connected to part A through a common door to provide an additional bath (small) and two more bedrooms with queen beds. I think the extra couch might be OK for a small child to sleep on. The B anti-room is where you could park small kids to watch TV although there are only two chairs. My friend was unhappy with the condition of the property maintenance, yard, and the overall shabbiness of the grounds. The paint on the cottage had bubbled and will soon be peeling. The front door has been repainted so many times it's a mess. Buggs coming up through cracks in the wall in the bathroom should immediately be addressed. The broken blinds second. Location-wise there is a market close by, a Mexican restaurant across the street, the tallest lighthouse in WA State down the road on the 105 spur to the west, and the beach just past the lighthouse. Up north is the harbor, town and a few shops and restaurants to the east side of the jetty and a state park to the west at the tip of the peninsula. But the beds were clean, dry and comfortable. We stayed in Room 2 which had a comfortable king size bed. We were made to feel welcomed when we were greeted upon our arrival. Our room was comfortable, a little bit chilly since the door was open but when we returned a few hours later the room was comfortably warm since the door was closed. The only 2 downsides to staying here is that the bathroom was very small and there was not a breakfast. We weren't able to find a restaurant nearby that offered a breakfast and had to wait until we got back to Olympia to eat. The coffee that was available was good and hot! This place was really quite nice. The owner Steve was a wonderful host. The place is very old as the "historic" name would imply but it is well kept, clean and functional. They are quick to upgrade if they have room. They are pet friendly but only on the lower level rooms. Really nice upper level rooms are not accessable if you have pets which was a little dissapointing. This is a huge property however, so you have plenty of room for your canine friends to frolic out doors. read more

Stayed here with my son after having tried a few of the motels in the area the last 4 years. We schedule our annual fishing trip in August and the previous accommodations have been a mixed bag. We booked the Elk room and found it to be far more comfortable than the motels. It was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable, coffee and hot cocoa were ready to go for our early morning departure . It's a big step up from the motel scene and you'll save a few bucks as well. We will be back next year for sure. Highly recommended. read more

Just stayed at the Glenacres Inn in their "West Cottage". The main house has a lot of "old" charm, complete with all the cool old woodworking throughout. I love that. Comfy beds. The West Cottage (across the parking lot from the main house) is a work in progress, having just opened, but was absolutely perfect for us with its huge kitchen, full fridge, stove & oven. The hosts were fabulous! This was our first stay here and we've already booked to come back again next year. read more

My stay at the Glenacres Inn was full of surprises! Set at the end of a long driveway sits the welcoming Inn with stories of years past welcoming and inviting. A beautiful home built in 1898 and as one enters a winding staircase that brings you to rooms that are quaint and comfortable. I stayed in room 2 which was spacious, clean and full of allure. The queen size bed was comfortable and I was able to sleep through the night undisturbed. Before I fell to sleep I was lulled by the lullabies between the wind and the rain singing me to sleep. For me it was comforting. I thought who dwelled here? What stories have been told? How were lives touched? The internet was fast and efficient, the heat was baseboard electric and at 3 a.m. I needed to turn it down as it had made me toasty warm. The bathroom was small but more than adequate for my needs. The Inn keeper was friendly and helpful and offered plenty of suggestions as to what Westport offers. I was able to attend "Harvey" presented by the Grayland Players which was community theatre at its best. Warmth, friendliness, historic, natures wonderful elements, clean and an opportunity to relax, that is simply The Glenacres Inn. read more

My wife and I enjoyed our 2 night stay in the very clean rooms and are especially appreciative of the no pet policy in some of the rooms as we are allergic to animals.We found the upstairs room to be extremely quiet and comfortable. We contacted most other motels and Inns in Westport and all allowed pets in the rooms. Thank you Steve for reserving some of the rooms as such. The Inn was within walking distance of the Westport Brewery where we made new friends and had a great time one afternoon. We'll definitely stay here again on our next visit to Westport. read more
