I have been a patient at Vacaville Dental Group for 27 years, long before it became Vacaville Dental Group. Throughout those years, I've always appreciated the quality of care from the dental team. I genuinely like the dentists, Jennifer is an outstanding hygienist, and Jessica and Mia in the front office have always been wonderful to work with. Unfortunately, since the transition to Vacaville Dental Group, management has changed several times, and the overall patient experience has declined significantly. The biggest issue is appointment scheduling and wait times. For decades, I rarely waited more than a few minutes for an appointment. Now, it seems routine to wait 30 minutes, typically longer. Today was the final straw. My 6 year old daughter had a cleaning scheduled for 9:30 AM, and I had a cleaning scheduled for 10:00 AM. After waiting about 10 minutes, I let Mia know that I had an 11:30 meeting and needed to stay on schedule. She assured me we would be out on time. By 9:55 AM, neither my daughter nor I had been called back. While sitting in the waiting room, I received a text notification stating that my daughter's appointment had been moved to 10:30 AM. At that point, we had already been waiting for over 30 minutes. When I questioned the delay, the new front office manager argued with me and insisted my daughter's appointment had always been scheduled for 10:00 AM, not 9:30 AM. I had text message confirmation showing the original 9:30 appointment time. Rather than acknowledging the scheduling change, she dismissed my concerns and made it seem as though I was mistaken. The interaction felt dishonest, unprofessional, and incredibly frustrating. After 27 years as patients, my husband, my children, my mother, and I have decided to take our business elsewhere. It's disappointing because most of the clinical staff remains excellent, but poor management and a lack of accountability have completely changed the experience. I truly hope Vacaville Dental Group improves its management practices because the dental team deserves better support than what patients are currently experiencing. I'm giving 2 stars to save some face for the current staff who has always been great. My 6 year old even wants to be a dentist one day because she loves Jennifer so much. read more

My husband had the worst experience here with a root canal gone very bad. We tried to come back several times to have it fixed and ended up on very strong antibiotics with an abscess and infection in his jaw. The tooth had to be removed by an oral surgeon and put on another antibiotic. When I contacted Jason regarding this issue I was told that because the roots were removed there should be no pain and that the root canal was "very well done". Well, let me assure you that an abscess and bone infection do in fact cause pain. It also cost the dentist office to lose my entire family (of 6) as cash paying customers because we will never step foot into this office again. I hope the $3000+ was worth it. read more

Wowi cannot be happieri went in prior appointment x-rays, cleaning and needed a cavity filled for at least a year but was afraid. Have seen 3 dentists in 4 years after mine retired. I love, yes love my dentist now.just had the cavity filled. NO PAIN. None! With injection or procedure! What? Yes even afterwards. No pain! The Best filing I ever had! I came across Dr. Jackman's practice while looking for a new dentist that offers sedation dentistry. I have some pretty long-held and severe phobias that were handled well by my last dentist through the use of sedation, but we moved and I could no longer drive an hour and a half each way to see him. Initially, I was very impressed by the sweet office staff when I called to make my first appointment. They got me set up, and I came in and saw Dr. Jackman's partner who performed an exam and provided a recommended treatment plan, but I was told that he didn't do sedation, so I would have to come back to meet with Dr. Jackman. When I returned a couple of weeks later, I was told that an important piece of equipment was broken and he was working through it with the manufacturer, and they would give me a call when it was worked out. I left with a very detailed pricing sheet (the office gals are truly great) and a plan to tackle some of the issues while working around my insurance limits. I was really pleased and looking forward to getting it handled. Fast forward over 3 months, I hadn't heard back from anyone. I decided to call them to check in and to see if there was any kind of update on the equipment and was told the doctor would call me by the end of the day. He called, apologized for forgetting to get back to me and let me know he was leaving for vacation and would be back in a week. He said my number was going to be left on his desk in plain sight so that he would see it upon returning and would call me to get me all set up as soon as he got back. That was more than a few weeks ago, and I still haven't heard back. I understand things happen and I'm not saying they are bad people because when you actually talk to them, it's clear that they care, but as a new patient, being "forgotten" about - twice - makes me feel unimportant and, oddly, it was really hurtful. I guess it's time to cut my losses and start looking for another dentist that will be more responsive. read more

So far so good! I'm about 1/2 done with the work I need. I've had a hard time finding a dentist I can trust since one back in my home state did fraudulent work. I'm feeling confident in Dr. Jackman that the work is needed and he's doing what he can to keep the procedures minimally invasive. I'm also going to an Endodontist right now and nearly passed out when the Endo was giving me the numbing shots because he did it so painfully. Dr. Jackman, on the other hand, has administered the shots nearly pain free. I didn't even come close to hyperventilating or passing out. He talks you through the whole procedure, though sometimes you can't hear him as he is kind of soft spoken and there's drilling going on in your face.... Love his office staff too. They have been understanding when I have had to reschedule. read more

Dr. Jackman is our family's Dentist Hero! He has come through so often, it still amazes us. I had an emergency with my dental health. He saw me immediately and took such great care of me. There were people waiting while me and another emergency took a LONG time. A person walked out and didn't seem too happy. I must say...I have never been the emergency before at a dental office...however, I am truly grateful for the extreme care that was taken...I am sorry that the person who left in a huff won't probably give Dr. Jackman another chance...that would be a true travesty for that person. All procedures are thoroughly explained prior and again nuanced during any possible findings. I am extremely happy to have found Dr. Jackman. I previously had been going to another dentist in Vacaville for the past 2 years but had some bad results after a permanent bridge was installed. I knew I had to find another dentist to try to fix the problems I was having. I found Dr. Jackman through Yelp and at this moment, I feel I struck gold! The sedation shot Dr. Jackman administered was the most comfortable shot I have every received from a dentist and his gentle ways put me at ease. Had to be referred out for 2 teeth extractions after cutting bridge away from molar. Later went back for teeth cleaning which was another very good experience.
