I wanted to really like this place, but unfortunately it just didn't work out. Office/front/Reception: Very clean, organized, pleasant atmosphere. The front office staff and assistants were very kind and welcoming. I went in because I had a chipped tooth, Takher recommended a crown. He seemed very nice, chatty, trying to make sure that you're comfortable. Came back for my crown prep. Seemed ok, a bit of discomfort which was normal. While waiting for my crown I had some pretty intense pain, and sensitivity to cold/hot and unable to eat anything on that side whatsoever. Day of crown, I had asked for a gold one due to chipping concerns. Dr Takher said no because I had a cavity. I had no idea about that and was only informed of that cavity and just assumed he filled it. During the crown I felt a lot of pain in my tooth/nerve. I made him aware, nothing was done. My adjacent tooth was shaved down to help fit my new crown, it doesn't feel smooth at all. I was asked if I had pain /sensitivity during my temp and I told them yes, it hurt throughout the whole waiting period. Fast forward to today, 6 weeks later and I went back in to have it checked because the pain is unbearable and I know something is wrong. He said I needed a root canal. And then said I can get a new crown. I asked why this wasn't fixed prior to the crown. His response was "I cleaned out the cavity". The pain I have been in has literally been excruciating, and my only solution is to have it removed, I got a referral to an oral surgeon because I no longer trusted the work behind Takher. I just want the pain to go away. I only went in for a chipped tooth (zero pain prior to Takher's treatment). In conclusion, please do research on the Dentist. read more

I found Pena Adobe Dental Care/Dr. Takher through my research for a great dentist upon moving to the Vacaville area a couple years ago, however they were at full capacity. Through persistence and checking in every once in a while I was finally able to get myself and my family into the practice as new clients. I initially saw Dr. Takher a few months ago for a 2nd opinion regarding some cavities my current dentist wanted to work on, however I felt drilling was unnecessary at the time especially as I have 0 symptoms. I went from my previous dentist pre-Vacaville stating I had a couple of spots to keep an eye on to my first post-move-to Vacaville dentist suddenly saying I had like 9 cavities they wanted to drill. This felt a bit hastily, so I sought the 2nd opinion from Dr. Takher. Dr. Takher was extremely professional and through his exam, and extensive knowledge, he confirmed that I do have a couple cavities (not 9!) but they are currently extremely small and superficial and don't warrant drilling. I'm so glad I got this 2nd opinion, as I still don't have any symptoms months later. Dr. Takher was great. He's also really nice and we had a great conversation about the local hot spots of where to go for great food. I had a visit here the other day and wow I love my dentist. It's like no other dentist office I have ever been to. They have the friendliest staff. They greet you when you walk in. They are so welcoming it feels like family. The waiting area is my favorite. They have a great selection of ice cold refreshments and coffee but the cherry on top was all the Lego floral arrangements they have! I had a filling done by Dr. Takher, he was great. He was quick, honest and professional which was very comforting and the best part of it all, it was the least painful visit ever. Hello Dr.Tahker, I just thought you'd like to know that after you removed the infected tooth in my mouth my autoimmune disease went away completely. I officially no longer struggle with Hyper thyroid/Graves disease. Thank you for your honest suggestion in taking it out instead of doing work to it. I do believe that if the molar would have stayed, I wouldn't have had such a fast recovery in terms of my autoimmune disease. In addition to my autoimmune disease going away completely I also became pregnant shortly after having the tooth removed, which I couldn't do for years because of my disease. I can't express how thankful I am for the service you provided. The staff were also very supportive and friendly. OUTSTANDING! My daughter cracked a tooth on a piece of candy at school today at 12pm. Even though they were closed, I reached out to the office to see if they could squeeze in an emergency because my daughter's regular dentist wouldn't be able to see her for another 5 days. Jaclyn, the office manager responded promptly and was able to get her in for the easiest appointment. My daughter is 14 and is terrified of needles. Dr. Takher immediately made her feel at ease. With a little laughing gas, in the blink of an eye she had her tooth removed, not a tear shed. The whole thing took less than 30 minutes.
