I had a Belgian waffle here with coffee ice cream, and it wasn't the best. They don't make the waffles fresh, so it wasn't hot when I got mine. The ice cream was a bit on the sweet side, and it was quite a pricey treat at 40 DKK. Since it's at Nyhavn though, that's probably why. I walked in here accidently to escape the pouring rain and found myself in a magically scented sugary shop. What was a pleasant surprise. It was right after I had my lunch, so I wasn't hungry, but I couldn't resist all the beautiful looking waffles and ice cream. I ended up having vanilla and coffee flavor ice cream. OH MY! Rich, heavy and satisfying. Just like what a perfect ice cream should be. Too bad I had no space for a waffle. That was one of the regrets from that trip.. The WiFi was pretty speedy too and you don't have to purchase anything to get the password. The staff of course, is the model looking Danish peeps that you can't stop staring at and the bonus is they are very sweet and friendly. I have been there few times and always go with friends who are visiting me at Copenhagen. The waffles are looking small, but they are very nice. I've never tried the soft ice cream because there are so many other nice options! Blueberry, lemon sorbet and rum are my favourite flavours. I also like the service . The ice cream is heavenly! It's very creamy, and amazingly unique flavors. Their cones are also very thick and crunchy, so nothing will leak from the bottom. If you ever come to Denmark, you must try this place out. The area around it is also beautiful! read more

If you listen to the humming freezers and look a the buckets of ice cream in the cases, you could be on Cape Cod, or Portland Maine, or any of a hundred slate-grey-sky seaside towns. Look at the writing on the menu, though, and all the "ø" remind you that you are in fact in K-town. We got a plain waffle with sugar, as we weren't ready for ice cream. It was surprisingly dense, and the first (carmelized) layer of sugar had an almost bitter burned flavor to it --- while the powdered sugar cascaded off onto sleeves, pant legs, and shoes. Even if you don't get ice cream, the smell of the freshly made waffle cones is worth the visit. Ice cream was okay, but the waffle cone was great. It is located right in Nyhavn which is arguable the most touristy area in the city, but if it is a nice day I would recommend grabbing an ice cream and walking along the water. read more

We wondered in here on our bikes and got the deal for 2 which was a warm waffle with a scoop of delicious ice cream(our choice) - I got the Valnut which was incredible- covered in chocolate sauce that hardens when it touches the cold ice cream- along with a hot drink of your choice (Latte was great!) . It is located right on the harbor with outdoor heaters and cozy seating indoors. This was one of the most delicious desserts I have ever had in my life! read more

Their soft ice is quite good but I was very disappointed with the hot chocolate, which was not very rich and was barely warm when they served it to me. This place is fine, but if you walk west to the next corner along Nyhavn you'll find another ice cream place (Rajissimo, Nyhavn 19) that is much better. My family and I were recently in Copenhagen and we stayed a block off Nyhavn and ended up coming over for some ice cream several of the nights. While this place isn't bad, when we switched it up one night and tried Rajissimo after having been to Vaffelbargeren a few times, our experience was much, much better. We were only in Copenhagen for about 22 hours. We took the bus tour then the boat tour. We topped it of with a waffle and ice cream cone from Vaffelbageren right there on the canal. Yum. Yum. Yum. Came here for an ice cream cone and they handed me something as big as a child's head. The ice cream wasn't the best I've had, but the combination of it, the fresh waffle cone, whipped cream and berry sauce was addictive. Another time I had the soft serve dipped in chocolate. Despite the incredibly long line and vast amount of flavors, we found this location to be overpriced, overhyped (location, location, location) and just a poor choice. The flavor of the ice cream was ok but we were finished with our cones in no time. Maybe this is European sizing but if I am paying exorbitant prices, I want my money's worth. We walked and ate rather than sit so within a half a block we were totally done. I actually looked into the bottom of my cone to see if any had found its way into the bottom; nope, that's the size. I don't know why I was tempted by this particular ice cream store, but I was for some reason and it was alright.People talk about how it's expensive but everything in Copenhagen is so expensive anyways that it's not like there's really much of a difference to be honest. I got the kiddy flavor... (oops) which is just colorful stuff in vanilla ice cream (it was good! )and the banana chocolate which was okay. They take foreign credit cards which is nice, and it's located in a great location--right off of Nyhavn so you can see why a tourist like me fell into its trap.
