Valencia Flowers Ruined My Mother's Birthday. I should have read the reviews before placing my order. On 10/13/24, I placed an order to have a floral arrengement sent to my Mother's Home. I spoke to her around 3:14 and the order had not arrived. I called Valencia Flowers and spoke to the owner who said his name was Enrique. He stated that my zip code did not match the credit card. I confirmed that it did and that I see the authorization on my credit card. He said that he canceled the order and my money would be returned to the credit card. I regret entrusting this shady business to something so personal to me. They are a horrible business and should not be used. He cared nothing about the lack of commitment to the services purchased. Do NOT waste your money at this establishment. If you see my original review on Google and you see the owners response to me that alone should tell you what to expect. Instead of the owner apologizing for my horrible experience of receiving flowers from this establishment more than once ordering via 1800 Flowers there choosing to berate me instead. I've bought and received countless bouquets of roses throughout my lifetime and unfortunately wheather I purchase for a loved one or a loved one purchases from me and it comes through Valencia it ALWAYS looks like a 5 year old picked them out of the ground and shoved them in a vase! Regardless of the amount spent on flowers and for me that minimum would be $70 they should not be delivered to me looking worse then if it were to come from the supermarket or someone selling it on the side of the road! I honestly would give 0 stars if I could. I would avoid this place like a Plague. Rude customer service. I took some balloons there around 3pm Friday to get helium put in and by later that night the balloons had deflated. I called them the Saturday morning 10am as soon as they opened and the lady told me that helium does not last that long (Really!!!). She refused to put helium back in my balloons, stating that she provided me with a service and its not her fault that the balloons deflated. I would avoid Valencia shop at all cost if you dont want to be disappointed for any of your special events, especially when you have to deal with rude, inconsiderate, unprofessional and unsatisfactory service from businesses. read more

Every year it's a must for my birthday! Super sweet, creamy, yummy! They sell by the slice sometimes but it may be a day or two old- still good though. They do custom orders. I must say that growing up with Valencia Cakes since a little boy I have always loved their Pineapple Cakes with vanilla frosting. As a child my mom used to get me those cakes when he bakery was in Williamsburg Brooklyn. She would always top it off with Silver Sprinkles. Great Memories. For my 50th Birthday my wife located the Valencia Bakery in Brownsville Brooklyn and ordered the cake for me the way my mom always got it. Pineapple Cake vanilla frosting with Silver Sprinkles. We have since purchased all of our birthday cakes from them. Their cakes I hold in high regard. Once you taste them you will never go to another bakery. Enjoy. read more

I grew up eating Valencia cakes for every occasion back in the 1980s & 90s. I was upset when I drove all the way from Staten Island to the one that used to be on Broadway in Williamsburg, which was the one my parents used to get our cakes from, just to find out they had closed down. I had to google it and found the one on Pitkin Avenue. Ever since I found that one I've driven there plenty of times just to have a piece of heaven. I love the one with the pineapple filling. It's my favorite cake of all time. Some people, like my husband, who is not Spanish, say it's too sweet but I wouldn't have it any other way. If I could give a zero star I would for the Brooklyn location. My friend ordered a wedding cake for her wedding reception on Sunday. They don't open on Sundays we were told to pick up the cake Saturday by 12:30 and put it in the refrigerator. My friend really wanted her cake from there so she ordered. Valencia customer service was horrible. We couldn't pick up the cake until 4:30. When we called we were asked what time is the wedding. Thank God it wasn't that day otherwise she would not have had a cake for her wedding. Meka was rude and talked down to people. When we picked up the cake no one could even help us to the car right in front of the store. My friend started wheezing and asked for a chair to sit down for a few minutes, she was told they do not have a chair but there was a chair visible. Oh and of course the cake did not fit into the refrigerator with the box. We were told a lie by Meka. To use her words "as i said before take out the shelves and the bars off the door it will fit". My friend paid hundreds of dollars for her cake and had bad customer service. I will not buy or recommend valencia brooklyn location to anyone. read more

WHAT HAPPENED?? Tackiness & unprofessionalism have taken over what used to be my favorite bakery! This little raggedy spot had some great cake but for the prices they now charge, this store is the most DISGUSTINGLY kept, dirty bakery EVER! I've been ordering cakes from here for over 15 years & the decor literally hasn't changed. The Tres Leche was one of the best in NY but has more than doubled in price AND quality has gone DOWN! Last 2 times it was DRY & the design was UGLY! They have special ordering restrictions for it. A 6 inch cake is $30. Those are Manhattan bakery prices i'd pay for a clean bakery. Service has gone WAY down while prices climb. The display cakes are so old they've turned yellow. Normally I wouldn't want to order out of a place like this & I gave them a pass for years but the unappetizing store front, poor customer service & price hikes have finally made this bakery more trouble than it's worth. I haven't had one in many years, but its said to taste the same as did, when I tried it 30 plus years ago, on flushing ave & broadway / williamsburg. I look forward now that I know they are still around to get my cakes from them from now on.
