Park - #5/50 My goal…read morefor now til the end of the year is to review 50 parks. We frequent new parks and I hate when I can't find any updated photos for them so that's how I started my instagram @thatabcsquad to share. And now I'd like to contribute to Yelp as well. I've had my eyes on this park for a while now but whenever I would put it into Google Maps, it would say it's under construction so I didn't wanna haul three kids to a park that 'may' be closed (we live 40 mins away) But a friend passed by and saw it was open so we had to go check it out! We loved every second of it!! - huge fully shaded playground!! Three sections, bigger, middle and smaller. - BIG slides for those who love them! - lots of climbing and crawling areas - plenty of grassy space - baseball fields - shaded picnic tables - clean bathrooms - water fountains - parking lot close by to playground If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend this park!! We were told there's also a little nature trail too! We gotta check that out next time.

When you're ending the year 2025 with a hiking adventure. Let's begin this banger review…read more Whitney Canyon Park is a 442-acre park known for its diverse trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding, featuring oak woodlands, chaparral, and riparian areas with seasonal waterfalls. It is located next to the freeway in Santa Clarita. I have been eyeing this trail/park for months and I am glad I crossed this on my All trails hiking list. I came on a late Monday morning and it was bloody windy (~45 mph) with a cool temp of 64 degrees. This park has multiple trials including Elsmere Trail. WCP has a wide track trail through a canyon that was known for oil drilling and ranching some of its remnants are still visible. Its trail has little to no tree shade but the trailhead was kept clear. I have seen some hikers (family and kids) and bikers along the way; most are friendly and nice. Parking lot is huge with no shades. Trash bins are available. Overall, it's a nice easy park to go hiking. I recommend it.

A friend took me to Whitney Canyon Waterfall today, and wow what an adventure. The hike is…read moremoderate, about 3.5 miles, and parking is free. Reaching the waterfall is not for the faint of heart. You climb uphill, descend back down, reach a small waterfall, and then go through it to finally arrive at Whitney Waterfall. It's a bit sketchy, definitely thrilling, and absolutely worth it but only if you're prepared. Hiking shoes are a must. This trail is not recommended for kids or beginner hikers due to steep and slippery sections. It was 48 degrees and freezing cold today, so check the weather before you go and layer up. Also, there are no restrooms, so plan ahead. If you're looking for a raw, adventurous hike with a rewarding waterfall at the end, this one delivers.

Date: October 21, 2025…read more Heard that this park was newly renovated so you bet I had to go check it out. I've never seen what it looked like before so I can't compare the two but overall this park is cute! Unfortunately it didn't really intrigue my 2.5 year old. The smaller playground was a little too small and the bigger playground was too much for him. He had fun on the scavenger hunt rock climb slide area though! And did love running up and down the grassy hill! Restrooms seemed to still be a work in progress but was open and clean. You can definitely smell paint still. And they were also still working on the room next to the restrooms. Parking was small so we did not find a spot and had to park at the end of the road and walk up. Lots of residential parking through but just a little walk up. Love that they have benches around and also picnic tables under an (open) gazebo. Since we're not from the area, it wouldn't be a park I would frequent, but definitely glad we got to check it off our list!

Old Orchard Park's renovation is a huge win for families! The new playground area is not only fun…read morebut shaded, which makes a big difference on hot days. There are so many activities beyond the play structures, making it enjoyable for all ages. As a parent with kids ages 3, 6, 11, and 13, it was refreshing to find something for each of them to enjoy: * My 11-year-old had plenty of space on the open grass area to play soccer. * My 13-year-old loved being able to practice basketball on the court. * My younger two were thrilled with the updated play structures and also had fun running around playing kickball. We ended our visit with snacks at the picnic tables, which were clean and conveniently placed near the play areas. The combination of shaded play zones, open fields, sports courts, and picnic spaces makes this park an excellent spot for families with kids of all ages. Definitely a five-star experience!
