One of the more suburban stations of the Green Line, Longwood (which is not the same as the…read moreLongwood Medical Area, about 3/4 of a mile away) is a surface station that is full service. Longwood is on the "D" branch of the MBTA Green Line and is fully handicapped accessible with a ramp for getting wheelchairs onto the trolley. It has covered waiting areas. There is a kiosk that hosts automated ticket vending machines for adding value to Charlie Cards and purchasing a Charlie Ticket. There is even a reasonable waiting area. The station is a nice midway spot on the Riverway, a preserved nature area for walking, biking (no bikes allowed on the Green Line) and other exercise. It is between Brookline Village (outbound) and Fenway (inbound). Note that you will need to board the train at the front door next to the driver so that you can provide payment.

If I could leave a no star review, I would. I booked a charter van for my wedding party…read moretransportation in May 2026. This bus company was the one that was contracted to transport us. The pickup at the hotel was about ten minutes late. Far from ideal when we had a strict pickup time to make sure we were on time to get to the venue for photos, set-up, etc. The bus was technically on-site, yes. But it was parked in the rear of the building where I nor anyone else would have seen. I did not receive a phone call or alert prior to departure time that the bus was there. It did not appear until I received a phone number through the charter company. The bus driver was rather rude and then finally pulled to the front. When the driver finally arrived and proceeded to take the most questionable route to the venue. I had my Waze on my phone and instead of the trip taking 25 minutes, we ended up taking closer to 45 minutes. That's now about 30 minutes off our anticipated schedule. No idea why the driver chose to take all back roads after getting on and then quickly off the highway when we could've take the majority of the trip on the highway. The return was the same way. It was late so we didn't hit as many red lights and traffic from the venue to the hotel, but still didn't get on the highway to save time and instead took back roads and then part of the highway to return. About 35 minutes instead of 20-25 minutes. Our drop-off was set for 11:30pm and our pickup was for 11pm. Again, if I could write a zero star review, I would, but everyone please use this as a word of caution.

She was informative during the application process…read morewhen we had questions about the Chinese visa application, and she helped us with photos on site in a short us that we would receive our visa within a proper timeline. This service fees are modest and affordable. And in our case when the Chinese consulate overcharged us based on their error, Cassandra at visa services went to battle for us. She was able to give us the visa for the initial price that we paid even though the Chinese consulate made the error. This goes along way and saved us a couple of hundred dollars. We look forward to working with visa services again in the future for our visa needs.

Over the past 6 months, I had interacted with Bay Colony staff many times from figuring out which place made the most sense for me to stay while I looked for my permanent place. What I appreciated most about Bay Colony is how super responsive they were to any inquiries I had and how they genuinely wanted to help you figure out which place made the most sense and how they could help you given your situation. They were very upfront and honest about the information about the place I booked and no misleading information at all. The best part was...their rates (and furnished one, too!) were very reasonable..and I did save both a lot of money and the hassle of buying furniture up front and locking myself into a year contract with unfurnished apartments from not having to go through traditional hotel's extended stay or unfurnished apartment route. Bay Colony offers a lot of options for you to choose from a variety of budget ranges and lengths of stay. Definitely explore them as an option to help you with your stay. I, for one, will undoubtedly recommend them to anyone or use their service again when looking for a temporary stay again.

Our experience with this entire B&B network leaves much to be desired…read more First, we rented a room in Charlestown which was described as a basement apartment. It turned out to be a moldy, cold, humid wine cellar-like accommodation with peeling paint, cracked floors, a dirty sofa, and a heating system that stunk and made noise when turned on. To their credit, the B&B service gave us another room in Cambridge after coming over to see the basement apartment and agreeing it was not suitable due to mold conditions. The Cambridge apartment was in a newly restored house, pretty much clean, and in a good location. But there was never a host present during our four day stay. We had to let ourselves in with a key hung on a lockbox. Not a very secure feeling. Nor was any kind of "breakfast" at this "bed & breakfast" even offered. Not even a cracker. Also, the cabinets and drawers in this room were pretty much loaded with the owner's stuff, which doesn't make for a homey feeling when you're a guest and looking for places to store your own things. The so-called common room, which was supposed to be for guests to relax, was stripped of its TV and cluttered with the owner's personal stuff, which also didn't make one feel very welcome in it. The lack of a host also led to a problem with another guest one night when we came home late. Since there was no other car in the lot and the building was dark, we assumed we were the only ones in the building until a German tourist ran down from upstairs, angrily banging at our bedroom door to tell us we were talking too loud. If a host was minding the place, this might never have happened. Although the bedroom looked clean on the surface, my wife happened to peek behind the bed one day and discovered an empty soda bottle and a candy wrapper, which suggests that the cleaning crew here is not all that thorough. If we had to do it all over again, and we knew what we know now, we would have looked much harder for other accommodations. The B&B manager told us her buildings are great value for the price (upwards of $155 a night) considering that Boston is expensive; she also said that breakfast and a host on site weren't normally to be expected in her houses. But doesn't this defeat the very idea of a "bed & breakfast", and the kind of personal touch travelers expect of such accommodations?
