From the reviews i read i Arrived excited to have some good pizza. However i was skeptical after i saw pizza hut scoring higher on the reviews. But nonetheless, i went in with an open mind. Not many people there. Was promptly seated but was unaware that it was serve yourself drinks so i sat there waiting until i saw someone else come back with a drink. I went and got my salad which was almost equivalent to a ruby tuesdays salad bar. Which is good for me. I then got my plate for pizza, which were cut into small pieces and also got some fried chicken. The atmosphere was friendly and bubbly. Pizza was not at all to my liking. I would prefer totinos frozen. However, the fried (broasted) chicken was amazing. I did go back up for seconds of the chicken. There was a ice cream machine and dessert pizzas but i was full on the chicken. Definitely worth the price. $15.99 for dinner buffet that is served 5-8pm. read more

We drive through often on our way to Iowa and have always wanted to try this place. It was disappointing, as there was little food nothing was refreshed while we were there, the warm food was crusted and drying what little there was and there was not much selection for pizza. The two stars I gave it was the chicken and the sweet wait staff girl. I wouldn't waste your money. Maybe this would be a different review if we arrived at 11am read more

This unassuming restaurant was across the street from the truck stop in which we got gas. It's in the middle of nowhere. We had no idea what to expect when we walked in and sat down. We were pleasantly surprised. The place is clean, the single waitress on duty treated us like we were famous and the food was fantastic. Far from the "greasy spoon" we were expecting. Of this was in our area of town, we'd visit it quite often. We find some of the coolest places to eat off the beaten path. read more

Doesn't look like much from outside, but what counts is what's on the inside!! It's all your dreams come true if you love Italian Foods. We had lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce is amazing. So very yummy, served hot with a garlic breadstick. A very fresh salad bar, cold and crisp. If your traveling Rt 80 through Nebraska, jump off at exit 126. We were driving through and decided to stop. There was no wait and the restaurant had a number of patrons when we arrived. The waitress asked what we wanted for s beverage and then disappeared. Meanwhile I used their restroom, not impressed; wasn't disgusting but wasn't exactly spotless either. After waiting what for me is too long the waitress returned and apologized for forgetting us. I asked for a menu. Glanced through it, asked if they had anchovies to which she replied "no." We decided to just have the buffet. It was edible. Domino's makes better pizza. Although we arrived about two hours before their closing time they were out of mashed potatoes. Most of the rest of the buffet looked to have been there too long. I had a trip through the salad bar. It was okay but poorly arranged. Some items had good flavor. Many were a disappointment. Then I tried the soft serve ice cream. Yuk! It seemed like 1%milk was added to the mix to make it stretch. No chocolate syrup in sight. Two bites and I was all about getting back on the highway. Seriously avoid this place. read more

The marinara with the mosticolli was delicious. Service and food was great! Carryout was fast and efficient.

This is less of a review and more of a warning. it's Italian like the movie Goodfellas, and by that i mean when they made dinner in prison. The front door has no window. Even the front door at Goodwill has a window. The price of this place is similar to what a person would pay for fresh food. Do you like frozen milk? it's what's for dessert. Seriously, the only reason i gave this place two stars is because people work here. At one point Valentino's got a new sign and never replaced the old one, so now both are on the building. This is probably my favorite place to eat when I am in Ogallala. The staff are awesome and the pizza is to die for! I have been tempted to make a special trip to Ogallala just for the pizza. I have never tried the buffet, but have heard several comments on how good it is. I just like to get a pizza big enough that I have left over pizza for a couple meals. We recently came to stay for our first vacation at Lake Mcconaughy and were looking for a decent place to get some takeout food. The time it took them to make the pizza and the quality of the pizza did not match up. It took 20 ish minutes for the pizza and it tasted no better than pizza you get at the grocery store. The pizza was $20 as well which definitely didn't help. Th buffet could be better (we didn't try it), but I do not recommend getting takeout pizza. read more

In selecting a place I WANT to ever eat again, this place gets one star. However, accepting it for what it is, a 3 is more fair. It's a midwestern all-you-can-eat buffet with warm (occasionally hot) American-Italian eats: edible but bland marinara, cold garlic bread, overly sweet desserts, and wilted iceberg lettuce. The floors look like they are 50 years old and more grease spots then carpet. The chairs are classic solid wood. The tables are clean. The one server was very kind and efficient. I've been to many Valentino's buffets over the years and this was the worst one. The buffet was $14.99 (!) for cold pizza, ice milk posing as ice cream, and wilted salad. And then while checking out I was told that I had to pay for the sodas as they weren't included in the price. $15 and you don't get a soda? Incredible. Maybe it's the nostalgic feeling I get since I've been coming here as a kid for the past 15years, but this place is always dependable and good This place is a must stop after being at the lake and eating hotdogs and burgers for days on end- perfect carb fix. Get there little after 11am when the first pizzas start rolling out. You have your choice of everything from taco pizza to meat lovers and vegetarian (all good) and all have a unique buttery, flaky crust. Hot lasagna and assorted pastas are perfect on a cold day, there is also a salad bar and deserts, all for around $9/lunch. Place is clean, service is very friendly. This is my 1st ever Yelp review, but this place is so bad i couldn't not warn others. Ordered the baked manicotti with "meat sauce" and a "pepperoni" pizza. The portion sizes are very small. The marinara sauce on the manicotti was no more than tomato paste mixed with water ... a far cry from any home made authentic recipe. I think I found 2 or 3 pebbles of hamburger in the meat sauce. Then to top it off the pizza was only a cheese pizza - the bill and receipt verified they got my order right and they charged me for the pepperoni topping but not a single pepperoni on the pizza. Bill was $30. I am so So regretting "going local" trying to support a local business - not to mention the 15% tip I threw in on my carry-out (because of vivid). read more

We were camped nearby at the KOA Tri-Trails and decided to have pizza delivered to our campsite. The word DELICIOUS best describes their pizza! Not sure about the low reviews, but we had a great time at Valentino's. I brought with me 13 boy scouts and 6 adults. We were looking for a reasonable cost pizza buffet on our way back to Dallas, TX, from summer camp in SD. While the cost was a little higher than we originally budgeted, the pizza was great with a wonderful variety and nice salad bar. The manager immediately dropped by upon our arrival; he was friendly and accommodating. We called an hour ahead and they kept up with demand of our hungry boys. You guys rocked it! Wonderful serving staff and remained attentive til the end. Also met up with a fellow Wood Badger while we were there. Only downside was the single stall in the men's bathroom. Pull one urinal and replace with a stall please. read more

We ordered a large pizza that was half nino and half deluxe pepperoni and had it delivered to the Holiday Inn we were staying at for the night. Both pizzas were tasty but I absolutely loved the cream cheese on the deluxe pepperoni. It was definitely unique and I'd never had cream cheese on a pizza before. We stopped in Ogallala at an RV camp and they recommended Valentino's. What a great find. Even on Mother's day they were open full hours and delivered a superb pizza. We are from Chicago and New York and this was better than many we have purchased in those two pizza "mecca's!"
