First they don you with two capes and another item for your neck. Is it cold? They have a closet that warms up your jacket. Second they wash and massage your hair and your back in a massage chair. Next they cut your hair to your liking and walk you through the process - they will tell you what looks good and why. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the lovely & welcoming owner and a cute dog roaming around. There was also Christmas music playing and coffee/tea. My hair was washed and then I had quick consultation where I was given honest suggestions. Since my hair was bleached within a year, they suggested that I go about with the permanent straightening only for the top of my head which was primarily virgin/healthy hair. Then, they would do a Keratin treatment for the bottom half. I was quoted a discount since it was my first time, so the whole treatment was $350 + tip which is about what I expected. The entire process took 3 hours. I was given snacks and water, and Richard was so personable. He didn't speak much English but we even communicated through an app on his phone! The photo is after my first wash and brushing through. Though it's not completely straight, the frizz is all gone! I'm hoping it stays like this, and I'm excited to get the full straightening perm next time. I will definitely be returning here and letting my friends know about this place. At first, she mentioned it would stay around shoulder length and not too short, but she kept cutting until it became much shorter than I expected and it turned out very different than the picture that I showed her. What upset me even more was that after cutting my hair, she moved on to another customer and left me waiting while working on someone else. In the end, my hair turned out terrible. Honestly, it is the shortest and ugliest haircut I have ever had, and I deeply regret going to this place. My point is this: if you cannot give your customers your full attention or provide good service, then don't accept the appointment--especially when customers are paying full price + tip. The lady who did my hair was also very unprofessional. She literally sprayed the essential oils onto my eyes and let the liquid drip into my eyes and didn't bother covering them. Also, when she was shampooing my hair while I was still seated in my chair, she got the shampoo into my eyes and it BURNED my eyes. She let me go to the restroom to rinse them out and finally put a visor on my forehead to prevent any more shampoo (or any liquid) to get in my eyes. However, I felt that she should have gave me this at the very beginning. Also, during the time I was there, they did not explain to me the whole treatment process due to the language barrier (since most spoke Korean only and little English). They kept trying to get me to buy their products and to come back once every 3 weeks for this scalp treatment. I understand that English is not their first language but they did not take the effort to explain to me what was wrong with my scalp or why I should come back. Lastly, after the lady styled my hair, my hair was already oily and hard so I had to go back to my hotel and wash it again. Overall, I DO NOT recommend coming here for a scalp treatment.
