Stopped for a late lunch and had a good experience all around. We sat at the bar and received prompt, courteous service from the bartender. I had the #11 lunch special which included a cheese enchilada, beef taco el carbon, rice and beans. We shared some chips and excellent, spicy salsa while we waited for our meal. My plate was very nicely presented with a bit of guacamole, a small salad and a small corn tortilla cup with tasty queso. Everything was delicious. The restaurant is bright, well lighted and has some background music that isn't too loud. The overall noise level was much quieter and calmer than many Tex/Mex restaurants. Will definitely return to try the margaritas and explore more of the menu. read more

Julia served with a smile with a great personality and with perfect customer service. I ordered two tacos, one enchilada and rice and beans, and it was made perfectly. I visited Vallarta's on a Thursday night around 7:30pm with my husband and our 9 year old son. (I used to eat here before, but the food had become bland so I had stopped going until my son wanted to go this Thursday evening.) They were pretty busy, but we were still seated right away. It was extremely loud though due to have busy it was. Our waitress was really nice and showed a good amount of attentiveness towards us. (She wasn't overbearing, but she did check on us from time to time.) All the staff was friendly, and they all seemed happy. The restaurant is clean and tables are bussed quickly which is good. Salsa was okay, but it was just a little on the bland side. It did taste fresh though. Our ordered food didn't take too long to arrive. We had the boneless buffalo hot chicken wings as a starter. They were good and crisp, and while they did have a kick to them, they weren't overly spicy. They also came with fries which I found a bit strange being as they are an appetizer. The fries were really good and had a nice crispy and crunchy texture. I had the chicken poblano fajitas with corn tortillas. I was disappointed that the corn tortillas are not made from scratch. The fajitas are cooked well, but I just wish they had a bit more seasoning as these were on the bland side. The charro beans and rice were definitely underseasoned as well. The rice just tasted like plain white rice. I do wish they gave you a bit more avocado with your fajitas because I barely had any. My husband had the birria tacos, and he said his were really good. His dipping sauce was pretty tasty, and he liked his charro beans although he agreed with me about the rice lacking any flavor. My son had the cheese enchilada plate from the kids menu. It was his first time trying a cheese enchilada, and he liked it a lot. I ate his refried beans since he doesn't like beans, and his refried beans were delicious unlike the charro beans. I probably would go back at some point if someone else wanted to go. I was hoping the food would be as flavorful as it was when they were a new restaurant, but the food is still a bit on the bland side. Service is great though, but the lack of seasoning in the food is what lets this place down...They also need to make their own corn tortillas. read more

Great food, great staff, and I would give it 5 stars BUT the ambience is 1 star, they play Mexican music only which is fine but you will have to raise your voice to talk across the table to whomever you're eating with, giving it more of a bar type atmosphere.
