The food was good. The service was good. The ambiance was awful. They seated us near the bar and across from the door to the outdoor patio where a DJ was set up blaring music so loudly that if you were sitting outside you couldn't hear yourself think. The DJ wanted everyone in the restaurant to KNOW he was there (as if we couldn't guess) so he kept going in and out of the door holding it open each time. I asked our server if she could do something about it and she talked to him. He laughed and kept on. It's really sad because I grew up in Bay City and it's great to see new restaurants when I come back. I'm sorry to say I probably won't go back to this one. The margarita was very good as was the chips and salsa. I had the entomatadas for my entre, they were good as well. My waitress was chatting with an older couple so it took her a minute and that's fine. I had time to read the menu and choose my entre, so when she arrived, I ordered my margarita and my entre. I asked if they served chips and salsa, she apologized and said they would be right out. They arrived about 2 minutes before my entre arrived. Just as I was about to leave, the manager stopped by to ask how my dining experience went. I told him the food was excellent, but I had a little trouble with getting the chips and salsa. He apologized and said he would work in that. All in all a good dining experience. They only opeed a month or so and I'm sure some kinks are being worked out. read more

I have had Los Cucos in in Angleton and Lake Jackson but the new one in Bay City tops them all!! Very good service!! Super great bar tenders. Our drinks were on point! The food never disappoints and the ambience is nice. I enjoy a booth in the bar section so that I can comfortably watch sports while I enjoy the fresh chips and salsa. The green salsa is my fav!! I have ordered a few different dishes here, the street tacos are one of my favorites! The beef fajita meet here is to die for!! read more

I went to Los Cucos on a Monday around 12:20pm with my husband, my aunt, and my mom. It wasn't really too busy at that time nor did it ever really get much busier when we left. Upon arriving, we were greeted and shown to a table right away. The floors feel really slippery so be sure to be mindful when you're walking. The decor is really nice and not cluttered which was nice. Oh, and there is plenty of parking at the restaurant. Our server was really nice and friendly. She always seemed happy the whole time we were there. Our drinks were always topped up without us needing to ask which was a plus. The chips and the two salsas (red and green) were really good. When we ordered our food, we didn't have to wait long to receive it. I had ordered the chicken fajitas with corn tortillas and refried beans as well as some jalapeño sausage. They did forget my tortillas so I had to wait to ask someone. Also, they brought me borracho beans instead of the refried beans I had asked for. I ended up not eating the beans since I had wanted refried. Tortillas were homemade but had no flavor. My chicken fajitas were just a grilled chicken breast on top of grilled onions. Both the chicken and onions had no flavor, but the chicken breast was tender. Rice was just okay but also needed flavor. My husband had the beef fajita stuffed avocado. He said the beef had no flavor either, and he didn't like the rice or beans as they were too bland. My jalapeño sausage was really good though! My aunt and mom also said their food lacked flavor. The food is a bit pricey but isn't too bad if you go for one of their lunch specials. For four adults, our bill came to $87. (We had no appetizer, and I had a water to drink while others had teas and a soda). Three of us ordered from their lunch menu. With the food lacking flavor, we probably won't be back when there are better options for Mexican food around. It's a shame because Los Cucos was good when they had their Wharton location. The Bay City location just needs to learn about seasonings and flavor. They have really nice staff so there's that. The food just really lets it down. read more

Wonderful hot food, great selection, chips are thin, hot and crispy. Hot causes come in green (my favorite) and red. Portions are quite large. Ambiance is so wonderful. It's so good you'll be pleasantly waiting for the next time you visit. In fact, I just took a friend and her granddaughter for their birthdays and I'm going again on February 24,2025 for another friend and her roommate's birthday! Beautiful place and food was good but the service was no good. When you have a party of 17 you would think that you need more than one waitress. We waited and waited on drinks but the waitress was no where in site. It's frustrating when you see other waitresses gathered up visiting and laughing instead of helping serve. Got here seated after 10 minutes lady walked away and I said do we follow host said I don't know and when I asked her she laughed order food took two hours and then they brought out quesadillas instead of a kids enchilada told them it was wrong to then 49 minute later bring out what we thought was ours walked passed or table handed it to someone else and then after another 10 realized that we didn't have it remade took 20 minutes later manager didn't say anything horrible service server was okay I guess for a low quality restaurant never will return food is cold so dissatisfied read more

My recent visit to the new location of Los Cucos was truly phenomenal My caldo de res was cooked perfectly and the flavor of the soup was amazing. The managers, staff, cooks, and bus staff were all very attentive and friendly. The service that our big table received was impeccable. The ambiance of the restaurant was breathtaking. I am a loyal customer from the Pearland location and I was like this location is stunning. I loved walking around with Marvin and seeing all the gorgeous decor within the restaurant I honestly loved driving up in my SUV and noticing the lights around the palm trees. I felt like I was at Disney world LOL. If I am ever back in Bay City, I will definitely come back to eat here. I highly recommend Los Cucos Bay City location. read more

Second time coming here to the Bay City location. We have eaten at the Pearland location many times and love it. The Bay City location may be even better. Awesome Decor and Atmosphere. So far we have had Fajitas Los Cucos, Fajitas Poblano and the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp. Everything is very fresh, from the Chips/Salsa(warm) to the Guacamole, to grilled Jalapenos, Charro Beans are so good, and the Rice is also really good, especially mixed with the Beans. Drinks were on point. Everything about both meals were perfect. We will be coming to Bay City from Lake Jackson from now on. My birthday is next week and this is where I want to go. I am already excited. Staff is super friendly. Could not ask for anything more. I cannot imagine anyone giving any rating less than 4 stars even if you are picky and arrogant. There are always people who love to hate and I am always happy to ignore them. Best Beef Fajitas I have ever had. Even better than El Toro in LJ. The food is simply awesome. read more
