A musician's dream!…read more Per the recommendation of our wedding planner, we worked with Hella Fitzgerald for our wedding in Big Sur, CA in August 2023. One of the best decisions we made for our wedding. I am a musician myself and had a lot of specifications for what I wanted throughout our ceremony, first dance, and dancing portions of the evening. And I mean a LOT of specifications! Music is something I am very particular about. Lilan worked closely with me on everything from which 2nd singer to hire to match the feel we wanted (the band works with various singers) to learning new songs that we had requested to adjusting songs to specific BPMs!!! She never seemed to lose her patience with me and would text me randomly with ideas or singer leads. One time she even texted me a couple vocal riffs she sang into her phone to see what I would prefer. We wanted a fun, sexy, big band feel and a talented group of musicians who could perform soul, Latin, swing, R&B, and everything in between. That is exactly what we got. He was available by phone and email and seemed to return calls within minutes. He invited us to hear the band perform, came to our walk through, and worked with us to make things happen just as we wanted. They learned a song for us free of charge and played music that we requested during their break in order to incorporate some cultural music that we wanted. At the end of the night our guests were begging the band to keep playing, and if the museum wasn't kicking us out our friends would have kept dancing all night. Perla was so good to me during the planning of my mom's funeral as she helped me with song choices. They even took my special song requests. They are extremely professional, they play their music wonderfully and sing beautiful. They have a harp player that is also outstanding and that is very unique for a mariachi group to have . I only wanted an hour- and I paid more since the weekend rate is a 2hr minimum. It was a surprise for my mom's 60th birthday and it was more of a seranade. He did change the time the day of, but I was okay with that since he was going to get another hour at his other gig and I was waiting for my sister to get home from work. They arrived at the same time my sister did, which worked out because my sister yelled for me and I went outside. Aurelio asked if they could come inside (I wasn't prepared for that so the house wasn't as organized as it could be) and they walked in singing "Las Mañanitas". My mom broke down crying from how emotional she got which in turn had a trickle down effect on my sisters, dad and I. Aurelio then presented himself said happy birthday to my mom and that he knew it was a surpise for her and gave them a list of songs they could choose from or that they could just play songs. Since Aurelio had sent me "Señora, Señora" that was the next one and then my parents and sister all chose different songs thereafter. The end was very sweet as they played "Tu Sangre en Mi Cuerpo"- mom version (the video didn't come out nice). And that's actually one of my favorite songs and they made it more special singing it the mom version. My dad wanted an extra hour but honestly, I wanted to go to bed. Needless to say, I will definetly consider them for my parents wedding anniversary (and if we have a party or just a serenade).
