We also got to snag a French fry off her plate. They sure look to be fresh cut fries! Tasted so fresh but very salty for my taste. The young man who took our order had been the sunflower attendant when I had visited the lovely sunflower field. He was polite and efficient. I like how the order takers read the order back to you for verification. I also like how Heislers gives an electronic beeper to summon you when your food is ready. This is an added value enabling guests to pick a spot to sit, relax, and get the condiments/napkins/plasticware while not having to stand and wait in the blazing heat. Thank you!! When my food was ready I went to claim it. No need to show a receipt etc. It was very organized! I did have to request honey mustard sauce even though I had mentioned that at order placement. The guy was happy to accommodate my request. The food quality was EXCELLENT! It tasted homemade. We loved the burgers so much. Our sweet girl enjoyed her chicken tenders, fries especially and apple juice that was included with her meal. It is a beautiful place to go and eat if it's not roasting hot. Even if it is- cool down with a great frozen treat! I can't wait to go back and try more food! I was talking with another customer who simply raved about the buffalo mac and cheese. I love everything the new owners are doing!!! Don't forget to go into the small room at the dairy bar and buy yourself some merch!!! One suggestion- please have prices of things in the merch area clearly labeled. I had been in there twice and the staff seemed to be at a loss as to how much the ice-cream was and how much the shirts-sweatshirts were. Prices should be clearly visible to patrons. Each time the staff helped me but had to go look up pricing somewhere. I may go after work and try to cut down the last few sunflowers- . Keep up the amazing work!! The only downside to our visit was a rude ignorant customer tying up both the food and ice-cream window- that was not Heislers fault. He was apparently complaining about something when there is nothing to complain about. Remember your right to refuse service!

Fortunately, the bees were too young to sting but if they don't fix their bee infestation problem then it's just a matter of time before people are attacked and stung. Finally got to the window and asked attendant what was in a certain flavor and she had no idea and had to go look at it and ask someone else. Waited about 10 min for ice cream pickup at a second window after placing order. It seems they use a production line method for each order made by clueless teens. Went to seating area to eat (more bees there) and was disappointed with what tasted like grocery store ice cream. Won't be returning here.

You just don't see gluten-free cones anywhere, so kudos to them for trying to be allergen conscious! They also have a lot of vegan options, all of which looked fantastic. I went for my classic 2 scoops: chocolate & peanut butter since they didn't have a chocolate PB flavor... That would be my only "criticism" ... keep the staple flavors in stock. This particular location (they have a few) is tucked back in a cute little downtown shopping square which looks to be brand new. This is the first year the new owners have it and they REALLY changed the layout of the store. It looks much more open, modern, and trendy. My main issues come from knowing how the store was before, what is missing now. Diet guers tea is a staple of ours when we're here. They have been out all week. They serve Heislers ice cream (literally the best ice cream around). I'm so grateful they didn't choose another ice cream, but its disappointing when you go to order and they are out of 5 of the flavors. We also buy a locust lake shirt or hoodie every year, but the amount to pick from are slim. Most of us will not be getting one this year because they don't have the sizes we need. This is a really nice store and I'm hopeful when the new owners get a season under their belt they will be able to keep things in stock. When we ask when they are getting more guers/ice cream/shirts in the answer is probably tomorrow but its been a week. Also there used to be picnic benches outside the back of the store. I'd love for those to return as going over to the pavilion or down to the lake to try and get the bench is near impossible when someone in your group has a mobility issue.

This is the creamiest, most flavorful ice cream I have ever had in my life. No like seriously. This ice cream is small batch and it's AMAZING. I had the chocolate peanut butter egg (their Easter flavor), my husband had coffee, and my son had chocolate. Each was phenomenal in its own way.
