8/8/2026. I was super excited to return to Heislers to try their food and we did!! My daughter and I both opted for the double smashburger- the sandwich only and my beautiful granddaughter opted for the children's chicken tenders. We also got to snag a French fry off her plate. They sure look to be fresh cut fries! Tasted so fresh but very salty for my taste. The young man who took our order had been the sunflower attendant when I had visited the lovely sunflower field. He was polite and efficient. I like how the order takers read the order back to you for verification. I also like how Heislers gives an electronic beeper to summon you when your food is ready. This is an added value enabling guests to pick a spot to sit, relax, and get the condiments/napkins/plasticware while not having to stand and wait in the blazing heat. Thank you!! When my food was ready I went to claim it. No need to show a receipt etc. It was very organized! I did have to request honey mustard sauce even though I had mentioned that at order placement. The guy was happy to accommodate my request. The food quality was EXCELLENT! It tasted homemade. We loved the burgers so much. Our sweet girl enjoyed her chicken tenders, fries especially and apple juice that was included with her meal. It is a beautiful place to go and eat if it's not roasting hot. Even if it is- cool down with a great frozen treat! I can't wait to go back and try more food! I was talking with another customer who simply raved about the buffalo mac and cheese. I love everything the new owners are doing!!! Don't forget to go into the small room at the dairy bar and buy yourself some merch!!! One suggestion- please have prices of things in the merch area clearly labeled. I had been in there twice and the staff seemed to be at a loss as to how much the ice-cream was and how much the shirts-sweatshirts were. Prices should be clearly visible to patrons. Each time the staff helped me but had to go look up pricing somewhere. I may go after work and try to cut down the last few sunflowers- . Keep up the amazing work!! The only downside to our visit was a rude ignorant customer tying up both the food and ice-cream window- that was not Heislers fault. Stopped in on the way home from Lancaster County really looking forward to some homemade ice cream made from local dairy cream. Baby bees swarmed everyone waiting on the slow-moving line to place order. Fortunately, the bees were too young to sting but if they don't fix their bee infestation problem then it's just a matter of time before people are attacked and stung. Finally got to the window and asked attendant what was in a certain flavor and she had no idea and had to go look at it and ask someone else. Waited about 10 min for ice cream pickup at a second window after placing order. It seems they use a production line method for each order made by clueless teens. Went to seating area to eat (more bees there) and was disappointed with what tasted like grocery store ice cream. Won't be returning here. read more

Hate to leave bad reviews but all around disappointing. Been coming here a long time and I am ok with change, but not sure what or if that was meat on that smashburger. And when I have to wait 30 minutes for One milkshake and 4-5 other groups behind me get their order first there is a problem. Could list a bunch more but just wont be going back. It was a summer tradition every Sunday evening. Nice new look. Unfortunately, downgrade in service and product. And of course, huge increase in prices. Stood in line 20 minutes to order. Then 45 minutes to get my one scoop of ice cream and milkshake. Did seem like any sense of urgency as tickets fell on the floor. It will be a while before we go back. I cannot believe I paid $9.94 for two small cones?! I also cannot believe when I paid with cash the cashier says $9.95! I get the penny thing but never round up on a customer! What a disappointment! I did not expect to pay $38.00 for the same order I paid $20.00 for last summer, 2 burgers 2 shakes and an order of fries. Outrageous price for mediocre food. The "smash" burger was overdone- the fries, cold and flavorless. The milkshake still tastes the same but appears to be smaller and is topped with whipped cream, was not given a choice on that addition. It's still a beautiful setting and they have made a successful effort to refresh the property. Sadly, I am afraid the high prices will discourage most people, I can't imagine what the bill would be if you brought the whole family! I would suggest going back to the simpler menu (and crinkle cut fries) that kept Heisler's so successful in the past. Okay so first, price increase, insane. Pop corn chicken, non-existent. The tenders a quite dry and the mac and cheese is pretty bland. The milkshake tastes the same but it's just annoying how much the prices really changed especially when they got rid of so many of the food options and the quality of them. The service was okay some seemed sweet some seemed annoyed. The really only plus is the upgrade is ambience with the lighting, canopy and sitting areas. Also not really a complaint but the lack of logo on the cups really kills the original heislers feel. read more

75 Mi drive for the memories! Hamburger BBQ fries and hot dogs! Definitely desserting with Ice Cream! Their freshly made Dairy Ice Cream is delicious I had the Vanilla Fudge! We played so miniature golf I definitely need more practice! The kids working the windows were all great pleasant and fun to talk with. A ride to Heisler's means you meander through farmland and a landscape similar to that in the opening scene of Last of the Mohicans, appropriate because Heisler's is in Schuylkill County and Schuylkill is a word with Native American and Dutch influences. The creamiest ice cream and the best sundae is a CMP, vanilla ice cream with dollops of Chocolate, Marshmallow and Peanuts. But the service was bad, the lady we spoke to didn't get some orders right and gave either nothing or the wrong item and still charged for it. Heisler Cloverleaf Dairy is an affordable family mini golf with landscaping and some interesting holes. This mini golf course is off the beaten path, and it definitely has some potential. There are 2 18 hole courses here along with Ice cream and food, a small game room, a driving range and a large parking. These mini golf courses (there are two) are both very well done; beautifully landscaped and well maintained. Greens are in okay condition some could use a little TLC. The difficulty varies but none of them are so difficult that children can't participate. The lower course has more shady spots than the upper course so that is important to note if you don't like the heat The cost is 7$ for adult and 6$ for kids with no discount for playing both. Of the 2 courses the lower course is the harder of the 2. The Ice cream was good and basic, but it hit the spot on a hot summer day. They also have the typical burger, fries, and chicken fingers type menu. I did not get to try the driving rage or the game room they were both closed when I came. The staff were extremely helpful, explaining the course and providing tips to younger players. The service for the ice cream was also quick. Just a tip this is a cash only establishment so hit up the ATM before coming here. Overall a nice place to go the enjoy spending some time outdoors with some mini golf and ice cream, if you are in the mood for either of those and are in the area I would stop by. read more

Heisler is one of those cool interesting hang out places that rural PA seems to have a lot of. I should amend one thing that when I say rural in that I really, really mean rural. As other Yelpers have mentioned, there ain't jack around the place for miles in any direction. Trees, fields and deer until voila, an opening on both sides of the road and Heisler's appears. On one side of Catawissa Road you have their waffle shop building which is now closed and their driving range which on the day we went was deserted. On the other side of Catawissa you have their two mini golf courses, the gift shop (closed the day we went), the arcade (closed the day we went) and the dairy bar where they serve food & ice cream. I'm sure the food is perfectly fine for a place where everything is fried but we weren't there for that. No, this was mini golf time on both courses with an ice cream chaser at the end. Let's skip ahead to the ice cream. Certainly not the best I've ever had but it is very good and the prices are more than reasonable. They have a stable of thirty plus flavors plus some sherbert and frozen yogurt as well. The flavors with one exception are non-noteworthy as nothing is "out there". The one exception would be Teaberry. That is a PA Dutch favorite which is dying a slow death as it''s progressively harder and harder to find. Teaberry looks like Pepto and tastes like minty Pepto. I hate it but I know plenty of people over a certain age in the area who lose it whenever they see it on a menu or even hear about it. As for the golf, they have two mini golf courses which can both be described as classic putt-putt style. None of the holes have any moving objects but water does play into some of them and overall a few holes in one are very possible. The upper course has a quasi mine theme and the lower course has a ?? theme. If you had to play one I would say pick the lower course as the holes are a bit more challenging and interesting. The upper course is more themed but also far more monotonous. On a brief sidebar, the old lady at the mini golf course is a bit shall we say...intense. Lots of you can't do XXX signs on the windows of the building where you get your clubs and balls. We paid for both courses and when I initially asked if we could get ice cream/a drink in between rounds she frowned at the idea and said that she normally wouldn't allow that but we were "lucky" since no one else was playing she would allow it but not before marking up our score card that we paid for another round as if she would forget about us with all of the non-existent people on the course. She also said that if you wanted to play both courses you could only pay for it in the beginning. If you paid for one and then wanted to play the other course there would be no discount. She would charge full price again. I've played a ton of courses thru out the area and I've never heard of that. That's fucking asinine. That's like a golf course run by The Gestapo. I have never been here on the crazy summer nights that other reviewers talk about but I can imagine what it must be like as the place has a ton of benches/seating and a lot of parking. It's a hell of a hike for us which is why I'm not sure that we'll be back anytime soon but overall Heisler's is a winner that is worth a try if you're in the area. If you go: Their website to a point is useless. While it does list their offerings (food & ice cream menu, mini golf courses, a driving range and an arcade) there is nothing on the site regarding current prices or hours or that they close seasonally or that they're cash only. While they have a FB page it is equally useless (the last post was three months ago) in that it also does not list prices, hours or that they are currently closed for the year. For 2016 mini golf was for one round $6.00 ages 11 and up and $5.00 for ages 3 to 10. To play both courses it was $10 and $8 respectively but don't forget to pay for it in advance as no discount will be given if you change your mind later. read more

4 stars for one of my favorite places in the Pottsville area. Mini golf, driving range, arcade, gift shop, ice cream, milkshakes, bbq, pizza, burgers, fries. If only it was closer to home! I only get here when I'm visiting the in laws. The place is in the middle of nowhere, but it draws people from miles around on a nice summer night. The mini golf courses are pretty good, but they can get crowded. The lines for food\ice cream can get long, but they move quickly. I'm a HUGE fan of the the burgers and bbq they serve here. bbq sandwiches out here are basically a "manwhich" served on a little burger bun. Quite tasty! Seems to be the standard for bbq in this area. This is a dairy and their ice cream is great! Many flavors available all made on site. They also have good sundaes. Check out the website to see what flavors they have going on. I've never used the driving range or played the arcade games, but have seen people doing both. Also never stepped in the gift shop, but can't wait to get back this summer for some BBQ, Heisler's Ice Cream, and some Mini Golf! read more

This is a very large dairy store selling ice cream and milk shakes, also serving food such as burgers and dogs. It's a sprawling, white, clean, attractive complex of buildings .... ... in the middle of nowhere! If you happen to drive by, you'll be surprised, because this big facility is surrounded by farmland as far as you can see. My wife and I arrived 8pm on an August weeknight with rain in the forecast, and the place was not crowded. But it appears to draw big crowds, judging by the large parking lots and the numerous picnic tables and benches that are provided. Very nice place! Hidden gem. Fun place to visit. read more

I have been going here for over 40 years and it was truly my favorite place to go as a child to ride the old fire engine through the woods behind the driving range. A great place to take the family on a warm summer night or on the weekends. Food is delicious and it's the only place I can still get my all time favorite teaberry shake. Heisler's is a fun place. There is nothing in that area, so it is a local hangout for the surrounding towns; kind of like Friday night football in Texas-- it's the thing to do. When I was at Heisler's, on one of the benches had 5 generations of a family all eating ice cream wearing suspenders. It was cute. Food was pretty good and reasonably priced. Burgers were good and ice cream was nice to have. I was leaning toward a 5 star review but there were 2 things that bothered me. 1. The place needs an update. I feel like I am back in the late 70's. 2. The girl behind the counter said they did not take credit cards, even though I saw the machine there. And looking at Yelp, others have stated that they do. Although the machines could have been down, the girl said it was cash only. I only had like $10 on me and the nearest atm is 30 minutes away. 15 minutes each way. Very frustrating. Anyway, this is a place where if you live in the area, you would know about it. I have a feeling this review is for the people visiting family in the area or passing through. I have been going to Heisler's for some good ice cream and mini golf for years as it's close by to our mountain house. When we got there it wasn't crowded and we chose to do a round of mini golf first. I think the courses are well worth the price because they are pretty challenging and the mountain views are spectacular. Afterward, we headed inside to grab some food. Beware, this place is cash only but they do have an ATM inside. The line was long but moved quickly. I had a small scoop of cookie dough ice cream in a dish and my boyfriend ordered the popcorn chicken. The girls behind the counter were kind of miserable and the popcorn chicken took long to get. I was disappointed in the cookie dough ice cream...it was mostly mini chocolate chips with very few little pieces of cookie dough. I wish I ordered a different flavor. My boyfriend's popcorn chicken was enjoyable. I'd recommend going at an off time to avoid lines and remember to bring cash. Hopefully our next experience will be better! read more

Now the prices might seem high if you live in the area. But I think they're sort of reasonable considering everything is local, fresh, and the cost of everything has risen over the years. At least once a summer I need to make the trek back to my hometown to go to Heislers for a teaberry milkshake. Their food is good as well, with the pizza (located in the little gift shop) being particularly good. It gets packed here on nice days/nights, but I've never really experienced it being overwhelmingly crowded. Their mini-golf is great, but I often opt for the driving range. The milkshakes are my faaaaaaavorite. They're like, an entire day's worth of calories, but don't think about that and just drink and enjoy. So so so good. The food is typical grill food (chicken, burgers, fries) and it is all delicious - but it has gotten a bit overpriced the last few years. Still, the place is constantly packed as it's basically the only thing to do in the area when the weather is nice. It's great for families and young people who want a day/evening out. Mini golf is fun and really reasonable priced. They have two different 18-hole courses, and there's usually some specials throughout the week (ex: $2 Tuesdays). They also have a driving range which is consistently packed. Heisler's is awesome. Just try to stay away from peak hours (Saturday evenings, Sunday afternoons) or you'll be waiting in line for a loooong time. read more

A summer classic for me, Heisler's has mini golf, a small arcade, gift shop, candy, pizza, cheesesteaks (don't call made with sheets of beef a Philly cheesesteak), popcorn shrimp, Guers products, and of course, homemade ice cream. The crowds may be daunting on dollar scoop nights and the weekend, but they go quickly and you won't be disappointed. There are different lines for hot food and ice cream, so be prepared to divide and conquer or do the whole thing twice. There are plenty of picnic tables and benches, both covered and uncovered. There is no indoor seating now that the waffle shop has closed (you can still get a waffle sandwich at the ice cream counter). Many people bring their dogs along for the ride. They have all sorts of ice cream and sundae flavors. Plus milkshakes! There is a two course mini golf and driving range. Our favorites are the wAffle sundaes, Banana split, milkshakes and CMP!
