Super cute ice cream joint. Have some candy and other knick knacks to look at. The girl behind the counter was such a sweetheart! Got to sample a few flavors, and she suggested mixing to flavors for my shake, which was a great idea!! I would diffently give this place another good, only 5 bucks for my large shake.

The ice cream was very good and fairly priced; good portion size. We all had soft serve. I will go back.

However, the candy was still delicious. Teresa, the owner, contacted me to make sure I received my order. When I told her what happened, she replaced it in much stronger packaging at no charge. First, I was greeted by a locked door and a women outside smoking stating she would be inside in a min to let me in. It was all down hill from there. The Sweet Barista is in fact MISSING A BARISTA!!! the gourmet coffee they were refering to on the website was a Keurig Machine! Not to mention there were zero cakes, and pasteries on display. In the middle of the floor I was able to find a folding table housing a small covered container of 8 stale looking cupcakes with a mound of pretzel rods sticking out of the top. I saw the picture online and thought they were cute.....looks way worse in person! I felt completely dooped by the descriptions on the website! The decor was old, dusty and outdated.....I think they were trying to go for the vintage tea room look but missed hard! A couple of my friends sampled the only 2 types of cupcakes they carried, and were not pleased in the least. The cupcakes were stale, and had no flavor. Best described as a box cake mix gone wrong. Overall, don't waste your time!

Incredibly Delicious!…read more This review is for their food truck, which recently visited our development on a Sunday morning. First, I thought it was a great idea to have a food truck on a weekend morning, because you can tap into a different group of patrons than on a Friday night. Service was spot on with each type of croissant and food item was explained (with pride) to me while trying to choose. On this visit we sampled the ham and cheese croissant, the apple croissant, and the savory bread pudding. Everything was delicious! The croissants were some of the best ones my wife and I have eaten. So much so we contemplated walking back to the truck for seconds. If you see their food truck stop and you will not be disappointed! We are looking forward to visiting the shop and trying some of their specialty chocolates!

Frederic was incredibly warm, welcoming, and friendly throughout our visit, making the entire process so enjoyable. We sampled several of the chocolates, and every single one was absolutely delicious. We ended up selecting Red, a red berry-filled chocolate, and Hedonism, a hazelnut and sea salt chocolate. The chocolates were a huge hit at our wedding! So many guests commented on how delicious and elegant they were. We made sure to let them know where they could buy more. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. The chocolates are incredible and the customer service is outstanding. My husband and I cannot recommend Frederic's chocolates highly enough!

Inside the chocolate shop, the store is very organized, unique items, and an impressive chocolate counter. They were doing chocolate dipped strawberries when we went, they were AWESOME! How did I not know about Macris Chocolate until now?! This place has been hiding in plain sight on…read moremy daily route--and it just might be my new favorite local gem. I discovered it thanks to their Harvest Party over Labor Day weekend: $42 for live acoustic music, endless wood-fired pizza by Perry Pizza Co., a grand dessert display with seasonal fruits and chocolate fondue, custom-made maple ice cream, complimentary beer and wine, lawn games, laid-back backyard vibes, a sneak peek at their fall chocolate collection, AND an exclusive caramel apple favor to take home. Um...shut up and take my money. I was so in. The shop itself is gorgeous. The historic stone house has been beautifully redone--warm, inviting, elegant but simple--designed to put all the focus (and all the scent!) on the chocolate. Behind the glass cases? Endless chocolate delights. Freezer? Penn State Creamery ice cream (apparently the only vendor on the West Shore). Shelves? A foodie's dream: teas, jams, jellies, spices, trays, utensils--you name it. One of the biggest highlights for me: their sugar-free selection. Coconut clusters, vanilla marshmallow, peanut butter, caramel, butter creams, cordial cherries, peppermint patties...the works. For anyone looking for sugar-free sweets locally, this is gold. The Harvest Party itself was fantastic--wood-fired pizza, hummus, chocolate-fondue-covered desserts, and the star of the show: exclusive Maple Cream Ice Cream by Urban Churn. Sweet, rich maple flavor that made an 80° summer day feel like fall had arrived early. Then came the chocolate caramel apples. Huge. Heavy. Chocolate bliss in every bite. Their website says, "105 years and three generations of small family business and chocolate expertise." And after this experience, I believe it. Beautiful shop, incredible chocolates, and one hell of a party. Bonus points: plenty of parking (thanks to the shared strip mall lot), pristine bathrooms, and a beautifully maintained property. Prices are what you'd expect from a family-owned chocolate shop (about $16 for a 9-piece sampler), and worth every penny for the quality. Now that I know Macris Chocolate exists, I'll be back--often. Can't wait to see what kind of magic they whip up for the holidays!

The atmosphere was fun, utilizing retired ride vehicles as booths and playing into the park setting. As expected in Hershey, the menu explored how chocolate can be integrated into a very American menu. I enjoyed the pulled pork grilled cheese: the chocolate barbecue sauce reminded me of a lighter molasses-based sauce so it worked with the barbecue. We had the Ferris Wheel appetizer which was mostly a win, but the items could have shown up on a TGI Friday's menu. The next day, to escape the millions of middle schoolers in the park (I have a whole travelogue brewing for that) we came back because I wanted one of their gigantic milkshakes. The Reese's peanut butter shake was peanut butter to the Nth degree, and it was topped by an entire slice of peanut butter pie. My friend got a stomachache but I love anything peanut butter so this was a win for me. Both times the service was really good. Our servers were friendly and attentive so we never felt we were being ignored or passed over. A+ in the service department.
