Went to deposit my paycheck and guess what? Both ATMs were Out of Order AND they were closed. Now, I am perfectly fine with them being closed on the 26th, because Christmas fell on a Sunday this year. What I find ridiculous is that BOTH of the ATMs were not working. Thankfully, I had some cash on me, but what about the half a dozen people that showed up to those ATMs within that two-minute time span when I drove by and saw the machines weren't working? This is not the first time their customers have been abandoned and their ATMs were non-operational. It is frustrating enough to have only one ATM accepting check deposits, but to have both of them not working after a holiday weekend? Bills still needed to get paid. Groceries still needed to be bought. This branch needs to get their act together and fix those machines, so that they work consistently. This is in response to the credit union itself, not necessarily the location. I was the victim of fraud on my checking account. Thieves stole over $1,700 from my checking account via ATM transactions using my pin. I physically still had my card, but was told they must have used a device (skimmer) to steal my pin, too. All the money was replaced by the credit union, (as it should have been) except $50. I was charged $50 as the victim of fraud. The lame excuse I was given was that if fraud is done using your pin, your liable for the first $50. If fraud is done using your signature, you are not liable . Really?? Fraud is fraud, I don't care how the thieves did it, why am I responsible for ANY amount? A very rude and unpleasant woman in the administrative building/ call center named Janet said that its VISA's rule and they are allowed to implement it. I told her, "Just because you can implement it doesn't mean you should. You shouldn't, because it's just simply not right." Im a 39 year old woman and I've been victim of fraud in the past with a credit card company as well as a bank, and I've never been charged before, nor has any family member or friend I've ever spoke with. This makes Valley First look really bad in my opinion as they nickel and dime me for something that was through no fault of my own. We recently sold a home and dropped over $100,000 in my husbands savings account, but we're seriously considering closing out all accounts and finding an institution that will support us in every manner if fraud occurs again. I would like to give a shout out to the branch manager Kimberly!! She was extremely professional and informative when it a came to opening up a personal loan for 15k. She made me feel super comfortable and at ease considering the fact that this was the first time I have ever pulled out a loan. I was very nervous at first because this was the first time I have ever opened a loan and I was already stressed out because my wedding was approaching fast. Her service was great as she addressed all my needs and answered all my question. She showed me how to use the mobile app step by step and how to bay my pill online because it can be a little confusing. Overall, I'm really pleased with the service I got at this branch because of Kimberly she was very professional and most importantly very knowledgeable when it came to pulling out a loan. She even went above and beyond by congratulating me on my new bankers positions with Wells in Sacramento. Talk about a bank that feels very friendly and family oriented because of Kimberly. I been with this credit union for about 7 years and hadn't experienced any problems...until recently. I joined in 09 because I was tired of BofA constantly raping me with all these fees, where it seemed like they were changing the rules every month. There was all this hype at the time to switch from a TBTF bank to a credit union, so I eventually made the switch. Signed up for a basic checking account and for a time it was good, I never had any unexpected fees charged to my account. Would have stayed a happy camper. Then recently I tried to apply for a credit card. I had stayed away from them for a while after hearing countless horror stories of being thousands of $ in debt. But I figured now was the time to get my credit score raised, since it had never been good, but I didn't owe anyone money. So I went there with my recent pay stubs and sat down to a mid-thirty something named Ann. What a cold fucking bitch. As soon as she learned I was a temp, she denied me right there on the spot. Refused to even fill out the application. I tried to mention that I been a customer here for 7 years and never overdrew, fell on deaf ears. That experience soured me a little, but I wasn't one to give up. Few months later I returned with my mom. She was going to be my cosigner for a joint account. We were helped once more by the ever insufferable Ann, who couldn't be anymore disinterested in helping us. This time the app was completed and sent. So, that's it right? I figured it was done, card would be in the mail. Wrong. After another week of having called Ann 3 times (Since she never followed up with us) we heard back from her saying we were denied again. Reason: credit limit too high. We show up there a 3rd time, this time we were helped by another woman (We had just about enough with Ann). I forget this lady's name, but at least she appeared more willing to help us. We lowered the credit limit by more than half, re-sent the app. There, that should be it this time, right? No, denied again, what a fucking nightmare. By contrast, a week later we both went into Golden 1, I had an emergency account made with them a few months ago and decided to give them a try with this. Surprise, surprise, not only was I approved within 15 minutes, but it was also put in my name, no need for a cosigner, card appeared in the mail within 8 days. I was both amazed and appalled by the difference between the two CU's. If this is the way VF wants to treat its long-term customers, then I will be taking the majority of my money out soon and going with Golden 1 instead. I guess not every credit union is better than a big bank. And yes, this branch never seems to have enough tellers despite the numerous windows it has. read more

I would not recommend this credit union or this branch to anyone even their own employees. We joined about six years ago and have been disappointed ever since. They charged us $25.00 to open an account with them that by contract was 100% refundable when we closed the account. I got a letter that said that we were going to be expelled from the credit union because when we paid off the car loan we had not used the account frequently enough. When I called to see what was going on the person at the call center said that they had been taking out $5.00 every so often and had no excuse why we had not received any notice of the withdrawn amounts or dates they occurred. We went in to the office today and got back the $25.00. **Note banks and credit unions who misplace money should not be in business. Also credit union managers should not have to say that call center people do NOT know what they are talking about. read more
