I came across 2 yelp pages for this event and I'm leaving my review on both because this is the…read morefirst page I came across for it and this was doesn't have any reviews from last night so here is a copy of my other review Wow ok so I clicked interested in this event on Facebook and my boyfriend prematurely bought tickets to surprise me. After I found out we were going I looked up the yelp reviews and was severely disappointed. We went ahead and downgraded our ticket from vip to GA since we figured it would be a bust and didn't wanna throw away more money. This event was nothing like last years! We had a really great time. There were no lines for anything. The tots were like buffet style? And I never saw people waiting for them. There was a little alley with fun old games and there was usually one open. They had a larger scale Jenga. Not the huge one but much bigger than the standard. There was a main stage on that floor and lots of fun seating around there. Mini golf we did not check out. It looked small and my boyfriend said it wasn't free. There was lots of music and fun seating all around. Nice large pillow fort where the karaoke was. The munchie station there was giving out cereal. They had an inflatable horse race I wanted to try out until I saw someone fall forward on their face (would have been me too!) the guy running that was really fun and nice, thanking us on our way out. They also had this weird room where you draw on everything including men in bodysuits plus another area to play with play-doh. There was a cool old hippie bus to hang in. We didn't take part in the silent disco or the prophet but the prophet always had people in there and we didn't want to interrupt. Cool concepts on both though. There was also a cool smokers lounge. There was lights and visuals everywhere that really make it feel like a kaleidoscope. They have obviously stepped it up significantly from last year and I wish I would have had some good photos to prove it but they also had good bars with strong drinks ( and I did I mention the cool smokers lounge?) I HIGHLY recommend this event and would even go next year if they keep it at this level and maybe add some different experiences. (Keep the mini golf, wanna try that 4/20/20)

WOW!!! So much to…read moresee. It is a magical evening of what I can only describe as a Renaissance Fair meets a Weho Halloween. The amount of imagination that goes into the bulk of these costumes is nothing less than incredible! I can only begin to fathom the cost it takes to fabricate these elaborate breathtaking creations. The ticket price alone (about $60) is worth it just to see everyone. A costume/formal evening wear is required for entry and trust me you don't want to show up in any old thing. People spend moths on their costumes and it shows. The ball is split up over numerous rooms and spaces. Some inside, some out. A major downside was how uncomfortably warm it was. People are in huge costumes, heavy make-up and wigs and there was no AC. They do have bars serving alcohol set up with average prices for such an event. There were food trucks located outside as well. We saw a few different performances with singing and dancing. Be warned there is a lot of walking if you want to check everything out. There are chairs here and there to catch a quick rest though. I'd recommend you check this out if you're into dressing up and the fantasy world.

A nice night to be at Hansen Dam for the lantern festival. It was during Mother's Day weekend, so I…read morebrought my mom along with me to enjoy this event. We got here an hour after it started, so we had to park in the further parking lot which was an easy walk over. As we approached the open area, food trucks and vendors were all around the parking lot and checkin was easy. We got to chose from four different colors of mandala bags, which had our essentials inside to making our lanterns as well as some extra goodies. We grabbed some ice cream and then found a spot in the sun near the stage to enjoy the live entertainment before the lantern meditation kicked off. As the sun was setting we walked over to the lake and waited to let our lanterns float in the water. I added some sayings, drawings and in remembrance for family who passed away. It really was a magical night and I'm glad I was able to do this with my mom to celebrate an early Mother's Day. We let our lanterns go and walked over to the doc to get an overall view of everyone else's. We didn't end up staying till the end as it was getting chilly and there was still an hour left of setting the lanterns off. **I also want to say thank you Yelp for the giveaway tickets to this event, I would have never thought to check it out without discovering it here. They have the lantern festival in different lakes across the states so be sure to check out where they'll be next!

It would be best to post signs around the area and in other places around the other parking lots that the park has. Second problem were the portable bathrooms... half way through the event there was no toilet paper in any of the stalls and the sinks ran out of water. At least post a sign saying there's no water and toilet paper since there's no one maintaining them. Also I'd suggest y'all consider taking back the complimentary backpacks and marker that y'all give out with the lanterns. I know they come with the ticket and some people want to keep the bags and marker. But personally I would have wanted to give it back to y'all to use for the next event. Anyway it'd be a nice optional choice is what I'm saying. The food trucks were good.

It's a free event, so a long line is understandable -- just something to plan for. The overall vibe inside was fun and worth checking out if you've got the patience. My only suggestion would be for them to open more than just four days in October. That would help spread out the crowds and make it easier for more people to enjoy the experience without such a long wait.

October 2021 is their…read more30th year anniversary, and as my first time visiting, I am hoping for many more so I can visit for years to come! The theme this year is "Evil in the London Fog," and right when you enter, you feel like you've stepped into a foggy, cobblestoned, Victorian London of the past. This was my first haunted house I've ever done, and I don't like being scared. It is the perfect intro to haunted houses for someone like myself who is a scaredy cat - it was light on gore and very brief which made it manageable to walk through. There was a bit of a line, but it moved quite fast. The haunted house is built on their front yard (amazing), so you will get through it quite quickly. It is free, which is incredible for the amount of work that goes into it. However! There is a box where you can leave donations, and all proceeds go to Volunteers of the Burbank Animal Shelter. Everyone who was working the haunt was so friendly, with fantastic themed costumes to boot. Absolutely wonderful vibes all around! They deserve no tricks and ALL the treats!

I advice to take the subway, the stop is very close by and it makes the planning way easier! You can walk everywhere after wards. The parade lasts for at least 2 hours, it's a multicultural celebration of the city. This year the special guest star was the Dragon, so that was fun to witness. Lots of dragons, music, bands, firecrackers, very enjoyable and lively. Lots of local shops to explore and grab food from, as well as a stage set up in the main squares with food trucks and more entertainment! The parade is always a good idea!

There were a variety of dragons & lions, all sorts of floats & exhibits including the local martial arts schools, local high school bands, pageant winners, LAPD, local politicians, local community organizations, and even low riders!!! So much to appreciate and celebrate in our diverse city! What a great, fun, inclusive, safe event!! It's the highlight LNY event of LA... such festive atmosphere, unbeatable ambience, great food galore, and good 'ol JOYFUL FUN! Love it!! Highly recommend!
