We had an appointment today to have him cleared for a dental appointment in September. Our experience was absolutely top notch! Our appointment was at 4:20pm, but we arrived a bit early so we would have time to locate the place and figure out the necessary procedures. There was a note on the door instructing patients to call to check in for the appointment from their cars. I was informed that the receptionist would return my call and let me know when a vet tech had a vacant room available. I received a call at about 4:40pm. Everything was pretty quick after that! We entered the facility and were greeted by the staff. They asked me about any concerns I had and then the doctor came in. He was so amazing with our chunk. I truly have never had such a patient-centered veterinary experience. I felt that the cost was pretty affordable and definitely much less than the old practice that we frequented. They have our business for as long as we stay in this area!

My senior cat took a very very sudden downturn in health that affected her ability to eat, maintain…read morehydration, jump up on a bed, or walk. She was clearly suffering. Vet explained everything that she felt upon examination (very lumpy kidneys/end-stage renal failure that my cat hid very very well), and explained what had likely been going on as my sweet cat declined rapidly over 48 hours. This was a complete opposite experience of Rossmoyne emergency, who either never palpated her kidneys, or, they did but this is a way they found to make money: omit details the pet owner will never ask about. They wanted to run $1k of tests acting as though they had no way of figuring out what was going on without them. They still got $500, which was the cost of my stupidity and trust. I encountered different staff at Shores both times I've been there, both times consistently compassionate, didn't appear out to make money which would result in prolonging a pet's pain and suffering. The whole process of ending my cat's suffering, including placing her on a fluffy blanket next to me during the process, the little memento with her pawprints, the way her ashes were given back in a cedar urn which was in a decorative bag...all handled very well. They do a great job vetting employees.

Following these tests, the clinic stated they "couldn't rule anything out" and recommended invasive exploratory surgery. ​Based on our medical records, the diagnostic evaluation omitted a standard Canine Parvovirus test (such as a CPV ELISA or Fecal PCR). The test was entirely absent from both the reported lab results and the written list of differential diagnoses, despite our dog presenting with severe hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. ​In our opinion, omitting a basic, rapid fecal test was a critical gap in protocol. While the clinic pointed to elevated white blood cell counts, secondary sepsis and inflammation in severe viral enteritis can also elevate cell counts, making a dedicated viral test essential. We believe that wasting critical time without ruling out Parvovirus deprived our dog of prompt, targeted care and contributed to a tragic, potentially preventable loss.

We drove from Buffalo, NY to get a CT scan for our dog, since the waiting lists in Buffalo, and the prices, were astronomical. From my first phone call with Rye, I knew they were good hearted people who are in animal care for the right reasons. Every person I spoke to on the phone was SO kind, thoughtful, and understanding. It was very easy to get through to schedule, no run around. They were able to schedule us a week out (which was quick compared to what I'd found), but since it was urgent, I was put on a waiting list and they called me back to get me in two days later. I drove down with my dog and stayed overnight in a hotel and then went to rye first thing in the morning. We had a consult with the Dr (who was amazing) and left our dog Rocko for the day for his scans. They called me just over an hour later that he was finished already! He is 12, so sedation scares me, but they did not over sedate him and he was jumping around (and making quite the ruckus for them ) when we came to pick him up. The doctors and staff are AMAZING. They have also sent his reports over to multiple referrals for us, which I know can be time consuming, but have never once made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. The only issue I have with this place, is that every other Vet isn't just like them! THANK YOU to the team at Animal Hospital of Rye. For making a very tough situation, so much easier for us.

so I don't wanna read it not good. I just wanna share my experience. We had Dr. Rubuffo who did…read moresurgery on my Doberman for his ligament. I dropped him off at 8:15 in the morning. He did not get surgery until 10 o'clock that night. They did call me and keep me updated and he sat with the catheter all day, I was told emergencies. Brought my dog home we went back twice for a cast and on the third time which was a Friday night. I was told he was having a slight reaction and showing some pictures, but that was normal. I had noticed bandage coming out of the cast, didn't think of it until the next morning. Saturday morning he was freaking out. . Unbeknownst to us the front of his leg had a big gaping wound with dead skin. I ended up at the emergency room and they took very good care of him. This was the third bandage change. They said there is no way that skin could have died that quickly from less than 14 hours before so I was sent home Friday night under the impression he was having a slight reaction. I was mortified when I saw and smelt that wound. I contacted the veterinary hospital and they said they would look into it. I sent pictures of how gruesome it was and it got back that it was my fault. Because I let him lick it hard to do the cone on your head. All the doctors there could be wonderful. I do not know, but I did not take my dog back nor will I ever take my dog back there. I am very grateful to all the vets that have helped him since then , all of our process has been delayed by a month and a half because of that big gaping wound.

He literally didn't touch my dog the whole time. I will say the assistant was as sweet as ever. I've visited many vets all over PA and this was the coldest I've ever seen a vet.
