BONUS: He gave me great tips on how to troubleshoot my key fob if it got wet. Told me not to press any buttons cause it'll short circuit the key fob. I higly recommend Valley Isle Lock & Key if you need to program your car key fob. Nissan would've charged ~ $560 for a new fob and programming. I ordered a new fob online for $25 and Valley Isle did the programming for $100. I was able to have an appointment right away and it took around 10min to do the work. Absolutely amazing and exceeded all expectations! I have a 2014 Toyota and needed a new key programed for it. I went to the Toyota dealer on Maui and bought the key and the Toyota dealer tried for a couple of hours to program the key. They could not program it and could not tell me what was wrong, just told me they would have to charge me $250 to try and diagnose the problem. I decided to try my luck elsewhere and called Valley Isle Lock and Key. Within an hour they had diagnosed that the dust cover on my ignition switch was sticking, and this cover has to be working to program the key. Valley Isle repaired the ignition and programed the new key no problem. I was amazed at their knowledge and diagnostic abilities, and even more amazed that they didn't give up until they solved the problem. 3.04.19 My husband lost our only car key on the beach. So we first called Maui mobile lock Smith. A man named Kevin came to us. Tried to get the door lock code doing something for about half an hour. Talk about customer service! I had just bought a used car about three days prior, when I managed to break the key off in the driver's side door. Needless to say, I was in a seriously foul mood on my way into work. I found Valley Isle through the yellowpages.com - they were the first local locksmith that appeared in my search. They very courteously called me when they were on their way, and it took me about 10 minutes to meet them at my car. By the time I got there, they had already extracted the broken piece of key out of the lock, and proceeded to lube my locks so they worked even better than before. Valley Isle Lock & Key saved our anniversary. We were in Maui to celebrate our anniversary, which is on Halloween. We had planned a day of snorkeling, followed by an evening in Lahaina. The day started beautifully - we drove to the dock, we parked, and we saw all sorts of wonderful things. When we returned to the car, I couldn't find the keys. We searched and searched. No keys. The car was a rental, so we called the rental agency at the airport. Surely they would have a backup set of keys? No luck. The best the rental agency could offer was that we call a tow truck and pay to have the car towed back to the airport, then they would give us a new car. We would be out a huge chunk of money and lose the entire day. I'm stressing out at this point. My darling is upset, I'm upset. Talk about customer service! Yesterday (Saturday) my key got stuck in the tailgate lock of my 2006 Honda CRV. I called every locksmith listed in the Maui yellow pages, and not one was available. Some didn't even have voice mail. Some were closed on Saturdays. Finally got to Valley Isle Lock & Key, and spoke with Tau (the father in this father & son team). After describing the problem to him, Tau let me know that he wouldn't be able to fix it himself but that his son Terry could probably fix it the next day. Since Honda no longer has service hours on Saturdays, I decided to wait until Sunday and I am so glad I did. Though it took a while for us to catch up to each other, when son Terry arrived I could tell I was in good hands. He is an exceptional communicator, and when he started looking for the source of the problem, he found and resolved several issues quickly and reasonably. I can't say enough about the level of customer service these guys provided - true professionals with aloha. Both father & son were a pleasure to talk to; I didn't meet Tau, but Terry was clean, presentable, well-spoken, efficient, and a total pleasure to interact with. Synchronicity led me to Tau and Terry when I needed them most - to help fix a Honda Civic passenger door lock that had hardened beyond functioning... These guys came to my house with the right technology and the right attitude and *did not give up* until the problem was fixed.
