Went here for an emergency visit. Called the morning of and got an appointment within 2hrs. It was my son's first ever dental visit and Dr. ElFarra was absolutely outstanding. He took his time with my little one to make sure he was okay and feeling comfortable, as well as making sure my husband and I was understanding everything. His level of compassion, knowledge and keeping us informed every step of the way is 5 stars. All of the staff from the front desk, financial dept and the dental assistant was outstanding. Regrettably writing this review based a recent crown cementing. I will say in all my years of going to a dentist, this has been the most painful experience I have ever had. I've had crowns, root canals, extractions,etc. in the past but this has been the worse. This is the second time I've left with a swollen face and soft tissue sores/cuts. The last time I saw Maryanne my gums were left completely raw. While I do expect a certain amount of pain & healing after dental procedures this experience by far stands out. I was spitting out buccal tissue and still am even after a few week. The soft tissue area under my tongue is burned in addition to both sides of my gums. It's like a drying chemical/agent was used and pooled in that area. It has been a week, and I have been unable to move my tongue which has made speaking, eating, chewing or anything involving the mouth incredibly painful. I haven't been able to eat hardly much of anything but yogurt and this is just a crown. I was discharged without any instructions or communication about what to expect. I won't be returning and neither will my family. read more

This place is a joke we're supposed to get our teeth cleaned twice a month but they failed to schedule me and ended never calling me back to reschedule me, when I called they were supposed to call me back but never did! Dr.Ciccarelli was my dentist I didn't have any issues with him but the staff wasn't as nice, he wanted me to do 3 fill ins. My wife got her done by him. Her jaws was hurting for 2 weeks, we didn't knew what he did wrong. Because of that I wanted another doctor. So I went to Anita Williams she said she doesn't do silver fill ins only white, instead of 3 fill ins she said 4 what??? So I asked to be changed to another doctor because one of the doctor is telling me 3 the other is telling me 4 ??? What's going on here?? The Administrator sent me a letter saying they can no longer have me there that they are willing to transfer me to a different dentist so I called her and left her a voicemail for her to call me back once you did I wanted to tell her what had happened and how I was treated she didn't want to listen at all she kept cutting me off she said it doesn't matter anymore you are no longer our patient and hung up the phone with me read more

Literally the best dentist and team I've ever had. Dr. Khorsand helped bring my teeth up to date.... I've been putting off many cavities--two of which became abscessed and needed either a root canal, and or a crown. They were able to get me in every time I had an urgent matter, and were so good about following up with my dental plan. Dr. Khorsand is so friendly and gentle, and he always takes time to get to know his patients. His whole team is amazing, especially his patient coordinator William. I used to hate going to the dentist and would put it off until small problems become bigger problems. This is the first time when I don't mind scheduling routine check ups and going to every appointment. Thank you Dr Khorsand and team, and Valley Oak for taking care of my whole family! HORRIBLE OFFICE!!!!! The want to run up your insurance coverages but don't want to clean your teeth!!! I've NEVER been to a dentist office and not had my teeth cleaned. According to Dr. Amandeep Bara, the scheduler checked I was made aware that they do NOT CLEAN TEETH on the 1st visit. That was NEVER mentioned to me. Had I been advised of this I would have never scheduled an appointment with this office. I scheduled an appoint for a cleaning and exam. This was the 1st dental appointment I've had in awhile because of COVID. When I advised Dr. Bara that no one ever told me of their policy, her dental assistant chimed in saying that "they don't know me." I didn't understand that comment as they had no problem taking every x-ray possible immediately before this conversation. Dr. Bara begrudgingly agreed to clean my teeth. She was VERY VERY rough and intentionally caused pain. I winced in pain and she'd occasionally ask if I was ok. I said "no, that hurts", yet she didn't change or attempt to be more gentle. They presented me with a "Treatment Plan" that I would not sign because it included treatment items I had not agreed to. I asked for a copy of the proposed treatments and was told I could not have a copy because I would not sign it. I was presented with a revised plan that only included the items I'd agreed to have done that day and I signed it. If you want a written estimate for work the dentist has proposed, forget getting it from this office. They refused to give me a print out with proposed treatments and associated cost because I would not sign saying I agreed to have treatment performed at their office. At that point, I hadn't decided I would have that work done at all. Why would I obligate myself by signing. Finally, I was directed to the check out area. While waiting my turn, I heard the man in front of me say he'd received a bill for something he'd already paid for. When it was my turn, I was checked out but not provided with an itemized receipt for the days services. When I asked for it I was advised that she hadn't received the billing information. I wanted an itemized receipt to use to verify treatment against the insurance company statement of benefits paid. The lady at the check out counter went to get the lady that refused to provide me the written estimate and together they managed to complete the billing for the days services and provide me with a receipt. Aesthetically, the dental office setting is antiquated. read more

Today was my sons first visit to the dentist. He is 2yrs old and I was definitely nervous! I had no idea what to expect except I knew for sure there would be lots of tears! The woman who cleaned our little guys teeth was so patient and kind, stopping a few times so he could catch his breath from crying. The pediatric doctor, Dr. Farra was wonderful! He took the time to point out things like lip ties in my sons mouth and what to look for if they cause problems. He too was patient and kind when checking out my sons mouth. Our son ended up needing 2 molar extractions. While we were waiting the child patient next to us was getting a tooth extraction as well. All I have to say after being witness to this child's ordeal to her procedure is Dental Technician Rosemarie and Dr. El Farra are amazing. Rosemarie kept her cool and stayed focus while our kids freak out to needles and numbing paste and being poked with cleaning tools. I've been coming here for a few years. I started off by seeing Dr. Shereef. He is very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. I'm extremely scared to come to the dentist due to my past experiences. His assistants were so sweet and gentle. This year I decided to try Dr. Brar. She is great as well, her assistant is amazing too! I would say the one negative is that there always seems to be a billing issue. I always have to call and figure out what's going on, it usually is fixed pretty fast. But I definitely would recommend this dentistry. read more

This dental clinic is magnificent. I had great experience with Dr. Brar. I had an excruciatingly painful tooth. Inside office the very experienced dental assistant took x rays and answered all my questions. The doctor arrived; very politely, knowledgeably and empathetically explained my issue and alternatives. Right off, I knew I was in excellent hands. Tooth extraction was performed with very little pain, promptly and efficiently. I have already informed family that they should seek dental treatment and care here. The entire staff is extremely professional and kind. I would give this place 5 stars but I have 2 problems . 1st off I love my Dr Ciccarelli and his assistants they are absolutely amazing . Words can not describe how amazing they are . So nice and compassionate they let you know exactly what happening and make sure you are comfortable . Just wonderful !!!! Can't say that enough about them . However the financial assistant Joanna never return calls never answers her phone . The front desk or whoever answers the mail line always transfers my calls to her and I hate it because I never get a hold of her and like I said she never returns my calls . I have been a patient for almost a decade with Dr. saini. After he left the practice about 3 years ago, the level of care has gone extremely downhill. The dental hygenist, Mary, has an extremely rude demeanor and does not communicate well. She has little to say to ensure you understand your care plan and is very quick to get things done. It is almost like every task that is required for patient care is a nuisance. Would not recommend. Please request any other assistant. Edit: I have had a bad experience with Dr. Brar as well. When receiving a cavity filling, a metal piece that is used to separate teeth fell to the back of my mouth as Dr. Brar did not properly handle the hardware, thus leading to a potential choking hazard. If this was a pediatric case or someone who may be physically or mentally disabled, it would have resulted in serious injury. read more

Wow so this place is extremely overpriced and when you call to cancel a surgery because you have the raging infection in your mouth and you don't want to die because of them cutting into you they charge you $200 because you canceled due to AN INFECTION!! Sadly enough I do have to take my daughter there are 2 more times then after that I will never take my family here again and they will never get another sent out of me!! read more

Well, through the years I have been to many different dental centers. This is by far the best one I have ever been to. I had to get a couple crowns put in. The financial ladies were excellent to deal with. They try to make sure you can handle the costs. The dental surgeon that put in the posts was great to deal with with. The dental hygienist is amazing. The dentist that put in the crowns was also incredible. Even the dental assistants are very nice. The front desk ladies are great as well. If you hate going to the dentist, then you should come to Valley Oak Dental. They will make you change your mind completely! This review is specifically for oral surgeon Dr Greco at the Valley Oak Dental. I had a molar extraction and implant prep work done back in June 2022. It was my first experience with IV sedation. I was nervous and Dr Greco, unlike other dentist I have been to, thoroughly explained the implant procedure and other options that I can have if I don't want to go with implant. He had all my questions answered before I asked. The extraction and prep went well, all the stay over there were tentative and pleasant, made my experience as painless as it can be. I went back in yesterday to put the stud in. The staff and Dr Greco explained everything they did as they were doing it without me asking in. The should be procedure was made as painless as it can be again. I was done in an hour and went home. This morning I woke up expecting to see dark circles and bruises on my face like one of my friend had when she got her implant (from somewhere else of course) and there was barely any swelling! With a work note to be excused from work, I am resting quite comfortably at home. Dr Greco just called me and checked on me to see how I was doing, on a Saturday. Can't ask for a better dentist. Went to the office to have a bridge replaced. Upon meeting Dr. Shareef the visit became unpleasant. He asked me why I didn't go to the dentist that did the bridge originally to fix it. Now not such a bad question but his tone definitely threw me off. Nonetheless I answered the question. I noticed when he came back into the room to set the bridge I could feel the cold sensation. He was rough when setting it. He seemed upset, a little frazzled, like he really didn't have time to see me. Before he left the room I ask him if installing the bridge would hurt as I remember being numbed when having it done before. He said there were 2 reasons getting numbed wouldn't be a good idea, 1 it's irritating to have to do he doesn't have a lot of staff and 2 it's probably not going to hurt. I said staff, I don't care about staff is it going to hurt or not? He said alright I'll do it, I'll do it. When I tell you I've never had such a horrible experience. He shoved the needle very far down in my gums, and then proceeded to inject my tongue and inject the medicine in my tongue. It felt like a zing. In all my years of going to a dentist I have never experienced such pain. I tried to tell him to stop and he didn't acknowledge me, he continued. The assistant said it's okay, it's okay. When they took all of the stuff out of my mouth, I told him that was the worst experience I've EVER had while being numbed. I told him it hurt and that was unusual. He said I just wanted to make sure you don't feel anything, I said I better not! So now they leave the room. I'm sitting there stressing because I may have to cuss out the dentist if he continues to handle me aggressively and I really didn't want him to touch me at all but I needed this work done today. I was very upset and he could tell. He leaves the room. While I'm waiting for him to come back I could hear what sounded like another patient saying stop. He was having a bad day for sure. Thankfully a RD, Maria came in and I was able to share my concerns and she put the bridge on. Dr. Shareef never came back into the room. His bedside manner, and technique needs much work. This was only my 3rd visit to this office and I will be going back as to date I've had great experiences with my primary dentist. Be careful who you choose. read more

I'm in the world is the worst dental patient. Dentist see me come in and cringe. I recently had oral surgery to extract three teeth. Dr. Mark Grecco is who performed my . I have to say that I am impressed. From the moment that I knew that I had to have this procedure I've been worried about it. The procedure went just as Dr. Grecco explain it would. Dr. El Farra is amazing! Took my 5yro son in for his first appt with him, and he was wonderful. My son was so relaxed, he fell asleep as we discussed our treatment plan (a few mins) then because my son was having pain in his bad cavities Dr. El Farra wanted to have his work done ASAP, but the office was going to be closed for a week, while we finished getting xrays they were making plans to squeeze my little guy in the next morning! He went through his extractions like a champ! Dr. El Farra kept talking to him, explained to him how to brush better, and to let mom do the brushing! LOL.The only part that was "rough" was when they had to do the impressions for his spacers. He cried at that part. Very pleased with the staff as well, everyone was great, and helpful. This place has the worst customer service of any dental place I've been to and in the valley, that's saying a lot. I need my wisdom teeth removed, so they referred me to their surgeon who is great, but not contracted with my insurance. I've been trying to find a contracted surgeon, finally did and called Valley Oak to have a referral faxed to them, the person at the front desk said he couldn't do it and that I had to be transferred to a patient coordinator (who never answers). I was transferred and surprise! There was no answer. I left a message waited a while and called back and was able to get help from someone else who told me that the referral had to be made out for the specific place I wanted to go to . So basically if this next surgeon didn't work out and I wanted to go elsewhere, I'd have to go through the whole process again, instead of giving me a general referral that shows what teeth need to be extracted, so they've made it very tedious. So, the person tells me she'll fax the referral over to the office I chose and will call me right back to let me know it's been faxed. I got no callback. Today I got a call from my referring dentist's patient coordinator who told me that he had reached out to the surgeon's office who said they can extract all but my lower left. Not thinking I was like ok, it looks like I'll have to find another place and go through this whole process I get, but when I got off the call I remembered my dentist saying SPECIFICALLY that the lower left didn't need to be removed, so I'm not sure why that was even mentioned. So, simple, I can just call back and confirm, right? WRONG. No one answers the phones, not the front desk nor the "patient coordinator" who can't coordinate. I left a voicemail which I assume they'll get to tomorrow. I ended up getting the print out of the estimate from the last surgeon, looking up the teeth numbers to be extracted and was able to confirm that my lower left isn't to be extracted. I then called the surgeon's office and was able to make my appointment. My dentist at Valley Oak was nice and professional, but their staff leaves a lot to be desired. After years of not seeing a dentist out of fear I finally HAD to make an appointment because of a hole I found in my tooth. My anxiety was through the roof! As soon as I called to make an appointment Joanna had already started to make me feel better! After I got there the staff and Dr. Ciccerelli made me feel so much at ease!! This place is a joke. I went with my friend and wanted to experience the place before making appointment for me. Dr. Anita Matthews is very rough, not sure about her treatment plan. She kept telling my friend the treatment can change for most of her teeth. She could not give a definite opinion. The staff cared equally less. Very inefficient. My other friend went in for an emergency as he doesn't have insurance and Dr.Morehead was very rude. He does have bad teeth but due to lack of insurance, couldn't care well for his mouth. Instead of encouraging a better care in future she kept criticizing him for not taking care of his teeth. Also charges a very high fees compared to other places. Very disappointed! read more

Recently, we have had the opportunity to visit this dentist in HOPES to have a great experience. We found out quick this wasn't the case as since miscommunication and disorganization are their main issues. Being late to one appointment by 1 MINUTE exactly to then be turned away as the doctor wouldn't even look at us for check ups. This resulted in them making us a new appointment weeks later. Of course this was fine since it was TECHNICALLY our fault we were there at 12:01PM, but what wasn't our fault was their miscommunication for the next appointment. They're void of all common sense and think they are on top of the world, making patients feel like a burden. They have the mentality as if the dentist is what the customer had planned for the whole day. We have lives outside of our dentist appointments and their time management does not appeal to their customers. OVERCHARGING happens at every appointment and anything financially will be miscalculated. We have had to fix unnecessary charges by confronting the staff to which they respond with "oops, sorry." Do not come hear. It is a head ache every time and we do not look forward to the dentist on top of the fears that come with it anyways. read more

They alway over charge you. And have you do procedures you don't need' and are not covered under your insurance. One time I told them I needed a root canal done. They instead gave me a gold crown cap. My tooth still hurt for weeks. I came back' shame on me! They drilled through my new crown. For a root canal that I told them I needed in the beginning. Now My crown looked bad with a silver filling on top of a gold crown. Which cost a lot of out of pocket cost. I don't go there anymore. read more

Valley Oak Dental doesn't care about protecting patients from Covid. The office manager Maya refused to allow me to see a dentist and hygienist who have been vaccinated for Covid 19. Further, she said I am not allowed to even ask them before they work on me. She said this is all because of HIPPA. Cleary, she is uneducated and uninformed about HIPPA laws and the pandemic. All I wanted was to be paired with a hygienist and dentist willing to disclose their vaccine status. This is so sad because my entire family adores Dr. Ciccarelli and he is truly the very best dentist we have ever seen. We were not allowed to talk to him, email him, or have him email us to ask him personally if he was vaccinated. It is just heartbreaking that now we have to find a new dental office. There are other reviews complaining about Maya's behavior which isn't surprising. She was so rude to me I was surprised she had a job there. I called my orthodontist in Pleasanton right after she barked at me to see if they were crazy too and Surprise! They IMMEDIATELY disclosed that the ENTIRE office has been vaccinated and she said I could call and personally talk to my orthodontist about it at any time:) So yeah, it's just Valley Oak that is bonkers. read more

Broke a tooth this weekend, so had to scramble to find a new dentist. After seeing a few neighbors rave reviews, I chose Valley Oak. They got me in the next day! And after only two hours in the chair I have a new tooth! This has to be the best dental experience I've ever had. They were terrific from the front desk to the back checkout.
