My fiance had oral surgery today and this place was wonderful, the front office staff and oral surgeon were great, the only reason one star is taken off is because of the assistant that was helping with after care and wheeled him out had a really bad attitude . Her tone and demeanor could use some work. She was young but spoke to people like they were beneath her, my fiance even said she was pretty rude and snippy in the back. To myself she literally ordered me around the second she started wheeling him out. I work in the medical field myself and I would never talk to patients or family members the way she did to me. I kept my mouth shut and allowed her to continue with her orders, but I really hope management gets to see this and gives her some constructive criticism. Just because you wear scrubs, does not give you the ok to talk down to people or be short and abrupt speaking to patients, we all understand being busy or overwhelmed, but that is your job to be professional, polite and caring. read more

We came in for a 9am appointment and sat in the kiddy for over 2 hrs to be then sent to the back room to wait another hour before anyone came in to ask us if anyone had been in to speak to us or get CT scan. We then advised them that no one had been here. They then asking if anesthesiologist had been in to see him a which was hey had Not been either. After 3hrs he finally got brought back to do the surgery. They need to be more attentive to times as we then had to wait another 45-55min for him to come out. So our entire day was wasted as this place. Versus we had hoped he had been already recovering by 10am instead of 1pm. Go somewhere else, unless you like to wait and waste all day for something that was scheduled for 9am and took place at 12pm ridiculous! read more

I came here straight from another dentist because the other dentist didn't make me aware that i would feel everything as she was pulling my teeth , i left the other place in so much pain and so overwhelmed, i came to valley oral surgery in a rush trying to just get it all done and over with and they made me so comfortable i was in the worst head space and felt so unheard they took such amazing care of me and made sure i was okay through it all Dr Chen and the other dentist that did my surgery are the most amazing dentists I've ever met I seriously have never had such a bad experience change to such a good one will definitely be going here if i ever need a tooth removed again instead of the first one i went to! I'm sure the dr is fine but the staff is rude and the prices are gouged up. The original quote came back twice as high as another place and when I questioned why they came back twice with lower quotes. Overall they dropped the price $783 and was still about $700 higher than the place we are going to. And they charged me over $100 for that exam which they require to give me a quote. read more

I was still sitting in the waiting room an hour after my appointment time and it still took another 30 minutes before seeing Dr. Velangi, so two hours total for wisdom teeth consultation. Dr. Velangi didn't convince me about the necessity of additional procedures and I wasn't fond of a quote for $1600 out of pocket plus the $1000 insurance reimbursement (and I have great dental insurance). I upgraded to 2-stars because another dentist said Dr. Velangi's surgical skill is good, but the other dentist also gave me a referral to see a different oral surgeon for a second opinion and they were far better--respected my time, everything was 100% covered by insurance, and the other oral surgeon did a great job. I wasn't even nervous at the other oral surgeon, because I felt I could trust them. read more

After kicking my primary dentist while he was drilling and causing an injury to my soft palate I was terrified to go to the oral surgeon. I am so glad this one was excepted by my insurance because I love this guy already. I will update this review even further when I have my implants done in three months. These people have no heart what so ever. They care little about keeping you as a patient. They do not explain throughly there policy for late appointments and if your 1 minute late they will make you reschedule. "0" compassion. I made a 40 minute drive to have my daughter seen here and I personally chose them and trusted them to take care of my the person I love but they do not see that, you just have suck it up because they don't care for anything about us, it's just business, the older lady in the front desk is nothing but "inhuman". We now have spent four months trying to get this office to send a doctor's realease to our cardiologist. They could have walked to the cardiologist and back in faster time. The customer service is horrendous. They made an appointment stating they had received we get there and of course they didn't. A total waste of everyone's time. read more

I got all 4 wisdom teeth removed on July 11th 2022 the staff is wonderful i had no complaints. It was a little bit of a wait time to see dr when i got the consultation but he explained everything that needed to be done. On the day of the procedure everything went smoothly but the dr did not go see me before i just got put to sleep and never saw the doctor at all but they told me everything went smoothly. Fast forward to one week later i have swollen cheeks that begin to worsen i called and got seen the same day. Turned out i had an infection he told me that it just happens but the odd thing was that the side i got an infection my stitches did not dissolve so he had to pull the stitch out so im thinking that could've been the reason of my infection, anyways he did a mini procedure cleaned out my wound and that was it. The doc got right on it and answered all the questions i had. I asked one of the MA if this happened to other patients he's had she said no its very rare. Other than my infection he is a good doc i do recommend this place the staff is extremely nice. read more

I was more than pleased with the whole process. I've been in pain for more than 5 weeks and my regular dentist could not figure it out. Finally I have an answer. I experienced a 3D cone scan for the first time and it was a simple procedure that gave me the emotional relief I was looking for. Dr. Velangi took my son's wisdom teeth out last week. I waited to write a review so I could give you the whole detail about recovery etc. My son had 4 impacted wisdom teeth. The entire staff, including the front office manager Heather and front office Melissa were very friendly, keeping me updated during the entire procedure. After surgery, Dr. Velangi personally came out to let me know how everything was, and went over what to expect after the surgery. His assistant also repeated the information and gave me a post op sheet of what to expect. Recovery was amazing, granted the first day was difficult as expected, but he recovered so quickly with minimal swelling, I was expecting chipmunk cheeks! As horrific as that experience sounds to most people, I had an excellent experience with the front staff and the Oral surgeon Dr Velangi. His assistant was very thorough with getting my vitals and she made me feel comfortable in that environment. Dr Velangi went an extra mile to check on me later to ensure I was feeling ok. Horrific experience with Dr. Velangi. I felt utterly disrespected the last time I was there, went in the day after I gave them a call as I had some bubble appear where they did an extraction and when I got to the office the next day, you could still see the bubble, but by then it looked less round, and flatter, but still very apparent, the doctor there made me wait for over 30 minutes, to go attend to someone that had been sat in the room next to mine, and had arrived later, I let the nice young ladies at the desk know that I was still waiting at 45 minutes after my appointment, and to make sure I was not forgotten, then shortly the doctor comes and tells me I have nothing, that he saw nothing, I looked in the mirror he had there and told him, you can still tell there is something there and that it was causing some discomfort, and he said, I don't see anything, in a very rude and condescending manner. I would never recommend this experience for anybody facing dental issues, as it's already bad enough to have them, go somewhere else. If I could give 6 starts I would! I was extremely nervous about getting my wisdom teeth out because this was my first ever surgery, but Dr. Velangi made my whole experience nothing but comfortable. My surgery and recovery went extremely well with only a few days of swelling and very minimal bruising. Any questions I had post surgery, Dr. Velangi answered within hours. I was sent here in the middle of one of the worst dental experiences in my life. I was in severe pain where I called and Crystal was able to work me in on the same day seeing Dr. Kogan! Crystal was great at check in and check out (even though she is managing benefits eligibility and authorization as well as check in and check out). She was multi-tasking very effectively. I was taken back at my appointment time by Israel who is very professional and personable. He prepped for Dr. Kogan who performed further testing of the tooth and began the root canal. Dr. Kogan explained the process as well the treatment and follow up care very thoroughly. He and his team were very detailed ensuring all the roots were treated as I did have a bad infection. Who loves getting their teeth worked on? Most people don't, I hate it, gives me sweaty palms and a sour stomach. I have been in need of a tooth replacement for about 20 years, but it was one of my back teeth so I put it off, obviously. I finally bit the bullet, (snort) and decided to get and implant. I can't believe I waited this long!! My experience was amazing. They agreed to see me after hours because of my hectic schedule, it took less than 30 minutes for the procedure. You would think drilling a metal screw into your mandible would cause swelling and severe pain, but I had minor throbbing at best. I was able to eat the next day and less than 48 hours later there is no sensitivity. I took one pain pill the night of the implant, but didn't need anymore after that. Highly recommend getting your major ortho work here!! read more

I was referred to this oral surgeon by my dentist to have a molar extraction. I went in for my consultation April 18th and seen the actual oral surgeon during that time for less than 5 mins, at which time I asked to be sedated for the procedure. He tried to convince me that I do not need sedation, but since this is my 1st time having an extraction, I felt it would be best. He said someone would call me once they received authorization from my insurance company. It's been two weeks, I'm in pain, and I had not heard back from anyone, so I take it upon myself to call the office. I'm told they got my authorization in today and that my bone graph will be $500 out of pocket and my sedation will be an additional $500 out of pocket. I was shocked. I can not afford that, so I said to go ahead without sedation. Now all of a sudden I'm being told that the surgeon will NOT do the procedure without the sedation I requested that HE tried to talk me out of! This seems like a complete SCAM to get more money! I'm in extreme pain and now I have to start all over and try and find a REPUTABLE oral surgeon! Don't waste your time, like I did! read more

I was able to schedule my appointment with ease and they offered to get me in same say which surprised me. When I went in this past Friday June 29th I was informed of all the costs and informed of how the procedure was going to be performed. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out all in 45 mins it was extremely easy and I felt fine and able to walk, but they weren't having that which I understand ;). If it was possibly I would give this higher ratings, even now I am not having any lingering pains so to be this well off means that the person who removed them did this very well. Dr Amogh Velangi and his staff are great. I had a large lower molar extracted. Previously, 20 years ago, the tooth had an apicoectomy. It had been giving me issue for about six months and extraction, grafting with an implant was the next course of treatment. The staff is all very calm and professional. I was anxious and a bit nervous, so there attention to explanations from payment, to procedure and follow up care were awesome. I felt very comfortable and confident with Dr Velangi and I proceeded with the process. Dr. Velangi was able to remove the tooth as well as excess filling materials from the old apicoectomy. The freezing of the tooth actually took longer than the entire extractions. Today I am taking regular Tylenol and most of my discomfort is in the jaw joint which feel similar to a long day of chewing gum.
