I went to see Dr Allard last fall for an exam and ended up waiting on the surgery until I absolutely had to. Long story short, I broke my wisdom tooth on a snickers Ice Cream bar and had an emergent need at that point. They took me as a walk in on a Wednesday and had me scheduled first thing Thursday morning to complete my procedure. I don't usually let someone with a sharp instrument near me, let alone my mouth. Dr. Allard is the exception. I needed a wisdom tooth extracted. The initial appointment was simple, and the details and options were explained thoroughly. The day of surgery went far better than I hoped for. I took a mild sedative at 11:00 am before I went in, arriving at 1200 pm. Taken back at 12:15 p.m., Prep was done quickly and efficiently, with a big part of the goal of keeping me updated and comfortable (read "not anxious"). I don't even remember being "knocked out,"... and I sure didn't remember ANYTHING of the actual procedure. I was awakened at 1:00 p.m. and asked a few simple questions. I was back fully aware within about 5 minutes. I was wheeled out to my ride and home 15 minutes later. Over the next week, I literally experienced NO pain. I took one pain pill when I first got home, but that was only in expectation of some pain when the numbing agents wore off. When I say there was "no pain, " I mean there was no pain. You are in the very best hands. I'm a complicated patient, and two other physicians were not comfortable performing my oral surgery due to my health history. Then I found HIM! He is incredible! I trusted him, talked his ear off, had a slight medical emergency, had to cancel an appt. and I'm sure there were a few other "situations" he had to deal with as my Doctor/staff and.they were all amazing, understanding, funny, very caring, and down to earth! I have been to MANY dental practices in my life. Dr. Michael Allard helped me with a horrible situation with 6 misplaced implants 4 years ago, BTW don't go to a general dentist for implants. I am grateful I found Dr. Allard who took them all out and we moved on. Now, Dr. Allard is helping me again with a few implants. I have very bad anxiety in general; but it is worse with ANY kind of Dentist. My overall experience from the consultation to the actual procedure was of the highest quality care. The entire office is courteous and professional. Covid-19 safety precautions and procedures are beyond expectations. Dr. Allard and his care teams' bedside manner was as professional as can possibly be. He was detailed in my particular situation. I had to get a coronectomy, everything was explained to me and was made very understandable. I was sent home with instructions and the explanation of costs was thorough. Beginning with the consultation x-rays were taken, based upon the review of results it was explained that I would most likely need a coronectomy. A CT scan was taken in office which was to map out my nerves and how close my wisdom tooth roots were to them. From there I scheduled my second appointment to review my CT scan results and review instructions on what medications to take prior to the procedure and what would be given during the day of procedure. After that everything was up to my body to heal and manage my care at home. Dr. Allard's care team followed up with me the week of my follow up to see how I was doing. My daughter injured her lip pretty badly and of course we're worried about scarring and whether the ER had done a good job with the sutures. Dr. Allard and his office staff were great, they got us in right away, reassured us and scheduled a follow-up appointment right away. The doctor and the staff is what matters most of course but his office was nicely appointed, clean, and unfortunately located close enough to the Disney store at the Arrowhead Mall that we didn't have an excuse to not take our little one there because she behaved so well for the doctor. read more

If you want free meds, definitely come here. They will load you up with Xanax before any procedure and then give you Vicodin to take after the procedure. My son was numb and loopy for hours after his procedure so I can only assume they pushed as much as they could through that IV. For the first consult we told them, meds were stopped since pain subsided and they proceeded to tell us that meds are still needed even if it's OTC because that is the only way swelling will subside. Well, I'm not a doctor, but Dr. Allard is not my sons parent so he should at least look me in the eye and stop to explain the recovery to me and tell me what he is doing before he performs any procedure on him. During the post op appointment, Dr.Allard reached for suture scissors, I asked him what he was doing and why the scissors are needed. He mumbles oh good gets caught.... and snips away at sutures then asks my son to bite down on gauze. I reasked the question and he passed us off the assistant and left the room. His only concern was to keep taking OTC meds. And on a final note, my son was on a liquid diet so I am still not sure what "food" he was talking about. read more

This is going to be a long one BUT if you have issues with dentist office then please read. It's well worth it. Here's a back story: i am petrified of dentists. I feel they care more about money and their customer service sucks... well I cracked my root canal tooth I had done 2 year ago by another DR, then it got extremely infected. I tried to see a dentist on Sunday but it was Easter. I went to ER instead. Got some antibiotics and a pain control shot. Which didn't work for long. I was referred to Dr. Allard by a nearby dentist off who was equipped to handle my issue. Now to the expletive at DR. Allard's office: The second I walked into the office everyone was SO kind and sweet. My face was very swollen and I was in excruciating pain. Like worse than childbirth and I had a 10.8 lb baby. The front desk associate Candace was SO sweet and helpful. I loved her spirit and energy. When I went back to the room this lovely young woman, (I'm terrible with names but omg was she the sweetest!!!) she helped me and kept me calm. They got me on an IV for antibiotics right away. I came back next day for my emergency surgery and they made me feel so calm. It was a little expensive for me however with the OUTSTANDING customer service I received, I would pay it all over again. 5 stars all around. I won't be seeing any other dentist. I started crying because of how kind everyone was. They never once made it about the money. They just wanted me to be out of pain. I had been crying for 2 days and by the time I saw them I could only explain what was happening while in tears. Thank you to Dr. allard and his staff for this amazing experience. What an amazing surgeon and office staff! I called this office after an unfortunate experience at another practice. A week after having 4 wisdom teeth pulled and some bone grafting I was still in a lot of pain and just didn't feel confident in the work that had been done. This office got me in the same day. They were caring, listened to my concerns, and carefully explained what I should have known in the first place pre-surgery. After my initial appointment they even offered follow up appointments if I was still having pain and concerns. When returning to the office, the staff even asked how I was doing since the last visit and you could tell they were genuine in doing so. I would recommend Dr Allard to anyone and everyone. I had my very first experience going under general with Dr Allard a couple years ago when I had my wisdom teeth extracted. He knew and understood my anxiety around it and made me feel so at ease and comfortable. I would never go to anyone else for any of my oral surgery needs. He performed the surgery flawlessly with no complications and even followed up with me several times post op to make sure I was healing properly. He also specializes in TMJD (temporomandibular joint disorder) which is something that I have and endure pain from it daily. I can't speak highly enough about Dr Allard and his staff. I have been struggling with compacted wisdom teeth since my early 20's and have been screwed over by dentists for years- some wanting upwards of $80,000 to remove my teeth, and up to $20,000 in Mexico. Being in my 20's there was no way I could afford that and just dealt with the pain/issues of having impacted teeth. At 36, when I couldn't handle it anymore and I looked up dental surgeons and found the very highly rated reviews of Dr. Allard. I hesitantly went into his office, told him about how other dentists had tried to scam me in the past and he assured me that it wouldn't be anywhere in the ballpark of what other dentists had told me the cost would be. He was extremely reassuring that he could remove my wisdom teeth. He took phenomenal x-rays, went over the procedure in great detail, and then had his staff come in and quote me a price. I was worried, but the price came in at a very small fraction of what others had told me. It was reasonable and something I could afford. The surgery went exceptional well. The staff followed up multiple times by calling to check on me to see how my recovery was going. Dr. Allard even took time out on Christmas Day when I was in extreme pain and needed reassurance that all was going well. The follow-up was a week later and Dr. Allard was very happy with recovery. It has now been nearly 3 weeks. My body is taking more time to heal because the roots of those wisdom teeth were deep but recovery has been great. 3 impacted teeth removal, with 1 almost into my sinus cavity and 2 bone graphs on my lower jaw, and I am feeling great. I only wish that he were a regular dentist, but as his nurse said "honey, if he were a regular dentist he'd be so busy you would never get in to see him!" So true! His personality and skill keeps his office very busy in a specialized field of dentistry. But his busy office is wonderfully caring and attentive. From the front desk to the scheduler, the dental assistants, the doctor and the anesthesiologist- everyone was great! I'm still on the lookout for a good dentist that can just clean my teeth, but if I ever need any dental surgery done again, Dr. Allard is my first/only choice. read more

The procedure to remove a large, abscessed, molar, #3, was quick, painless and high quality. Dr. Allard is kind, informative, intelligent and takes time with his patients. The anesthesiologist was also professional and kind. I had minimal discomfort after the extraction and the office made several follow up calls to assure that I was doing well. The best oral surgeon. I had a crown break off and needed to have an implant on one of my front teeth. I had started the process of the extraction and bone graft in Mexico, which was fine but I couldn't get the required documents from them to file a claim with the insurance company so I decided to save myself the travel time and just have it done here. Having an implant done is very expensive even with insurance but the cost has been worth it with Dr. Allard. He and his staff are absolutely fantastic. They explain every step of the procedure and show examples. I was able to see my current x-rays, example x-rays of each step, then the x-ray of my implant. They referred me to a general dentist who will attached the implant crown when the time comes (the last dentist I had seen was not great and the office made appointments for your without your consent). They even contacted the insurance company to make sure the referred dentist was in the network. He even spent time getting to know me as a person and not just another mouth. I don't care how much it costs, I will go to Dr. Allard for any oral surgery that I may need and I will refer him to anyone who needs an oral surgeon. I just wish he did general dentistry as well. read more

Dr. Allard is easy to talk to, gives you his full attention and is an outstanding and confident surgeon!!! Overall I had a great experience. I've had a number of teeth issues and have seen a number of different dentists and oral surgeons to compare experiences with. Although I'm not an oral surgeon myself and can't really judge surgical skill, I got the feeling that Dr. Allard is very good at what he does and I feel very confident in his work. What also stands out about this place is that they are very organized. They have their systems, paperwork, and care routines down. The only thing that wasn't to my personal preference is that it was sort-of assumed I'd want to go with IV sedation for bone grafting/extraction procedure rather than first laying out all the different options and just asking me which method I preferred (I ended up not doing the IV sedation). However, some oral surgeons prefer to work with the patient under conscious sedation as it minimizes movement and minimizes a risk of a bad experience for the patient, so I understand. Dr. Allard himself was also sort of in and out and I did most of my chatting/asking questions with the assistants or office manager. But he was great when I did see him. What was most important to me was I felt I could trust in their care and everyone was friendly. read more
