Dr. Anand Shah and his staff provide excellent customer service. They are truly all about the patients and the care they are providing to you while you are there in their establishment. As someone who works in the healthcare industry it is imperative to have great customer service. First impressions are everything; the office staff immediately greet you, check you in and begin the intake process. Actual waiting time was less than five minutes. Within minutes you're called back for x-rays where the x-ray technician is very mindful of your limitations based on your injury. You are then placed in a exam room where you are greeted by clinician who walks you through your previous health history, very efficient, kind, pleasant and most of all welcoming. It wasn't minutes after finishing with the clinician that Dr. Shah comes in and immediately greets you. His bedside manor is one of the best! Very thorough, explained all options and next steps. More physicians and office staff should model Dr. Anand Shah's patient experience. read more

I have been getting single shot Durolane injections in both of my knees every 6 months. It seems to work really well. Booked an appointment more than 2-weeks ago for my next shots. Arrived yesterday to learn that they no longer carry Durolane. Nobody bothered to call and tell me, at any time during the 2-weeks I was waiting for my office visit, that they no longer used Durolane. Instead they tried a bait and switch for another product. Why on earth would I want to go from 2 Durolane shots (one in each knee) and switch to a product that requires up to 10 shots for the same effect. Greatly, increasing my risk factor for something going wrong. Why? Because they can charge my insurance for 10 visits instead of just one! This is about them making money - not my well being! read more

I previously had a good experience and they even did a surgery for me, but after waiting a long time to see dr Taylor for another problem the day finally arrived and I walked in for my appointment The staff told me I must wear one of their masks and I replied what's the difference between your mask and mine, they told me it's their policy. I declined the offer and was told to wait outside while they consulted with dr Taylor. After awhile they walked outside and told me the dr refuses to see me unless I obey and wear their mask, which wasn't a N95 mask, just another type different than mine. I believe the dr violated his hypocritical oath to treat me. I'm very disappointed with his decision to uphold an arbitrary administrative policy rather than fulfill his professional oath to help patients. I obviously DO NOT recommend this office. read more

I was referred by VA, supposedly have my 1st therapy session @0720. Waited on the car for 5 mins. Therapy clinic still closed. A receptionist came and open it @0725 let me answer the score sheet done in 2mins. Another patient came in @0733. Don't waste your time unless you want to get ripped off!! They charged me for a 2nd visit in which Dr. shah should've NOT charged, since I didn't even set the visit up/ appointment up. Only consisted of Dr. shah telling me to keep care of my injury for 5 weeks until it is healed properly, so I don't understand how less than 5 min of me being there is a charge if HE clearly told me to come back. I could've been fine with the information given at the 1st visit and came back for a visit if I had problems or concerns. Never coming back nor am I recommending anyone here. read more

I have had one Rotator Cuff surgery on my right shoulder and a potential surgery or replacement coming on my left shoulder. Dr. Taylor has been involved in the process of both. My right shoulder was repaired completely with wonderful results. I had heard horror stories about the pain, but to my surprise, there was very little pain involved in the whole process. Dr. Taylor was thorough, efficient, and with me through the whole process. I have never had a doctor that was more compassionate or more willing to take the time to communicate and listen. I can't recommend him with high enough praise. As I chose a doctor to go through the process on my left shoulder, it was a no-brainer. What can be more reliable then someone who has been through a process and choses the same physician to do their second procedure? read more

And he has PPO insurance and all they did was do 2 evaluations and they didn't even give him an estimate beforehand , you would think they would considering they've had this issue before (based on their reviews) . All about money not care. High office staff turnover and half the time refers you to other doctors to do the actual work but have you do return visits to them and do their physical therapy system. Its a recycle mill to self perpetuate income with little desire to help the patient. Office staff is rude and sometimes borderline suicidal with patients. read more

VOI and Dr. Taylor are are absolutely phenomenal! My entire experience has been great. The office is very clean and the staff is so professional, from the front office to the x-ray tech and lets not forget the nurses that work with Dr. Taylor (I wish I remembered their names) they explain everything so thoroughly they never make me feel rushed and my paperwork is always filled out quick (this helps with EDD disability). I can't say enough about how great my experience has been Dr. Taylor is very thorough, professional, well educated, nice, patient, and does great work! My surgery went flawlessly. Less than stellar, for sure. I went in with a hurt foot and they took a weight bearing X-ray then sent me off for an MRI to double check my tendon. I was told to come back the following Monday for the results and further instructions. When I got back, they charged me another co-pay. I understand being charged for an appointment but they told me to come back, so I wasn't too thrilled but I dealt with it. That same morning I'd called them twice to let them know that the MRI technician said they didn't have a "stat" order for my results and that they'd need to call to get them. When I arrived, they didn't have my results and I had to wait 20+ minutes while they called and got them. Then all they did was tell me to stay off of for 4 weeks and to come back. When I went back, all they did was say "how do you feel?" They touched my foot and said "progress to weight bearing." I don't feel like anything significant ever came out of my appointments and I never returned for a follow up. I've just been managing my care on my own - my foot it fine and my pockets feel heavier. Dr Taylor, himself, seemed educated and like my well-being was his number one concern but, for my three appointments, I spent, probably, 15 minutes with them and 2 hours in their office. When a friend got injured earlier in the year, off we went immediately to see Dr. Shah. How did we end up here? Somebody in the Urgent Care center recommended him as somebody they'd send their own family members to, and our PCP was happy to provide a referral over to him. He doesn't mess around, gets in and gets out and tries to get to the basic facts of the case and what needs to be done. The staff seems professional. He has a gentle manner about him and that's a good thing when a person is dealing with something traumatic and needs calming as well as help. My friend had to pull him back into the examination room to answer a few more questions, and the doctor was quite happy to provide an additional case management referral to a vascular specialist as well. Overall, I think he would do a very thorough job although I hope never to have to find out personally :)!!! read more

I was having issues with my thumb joint, so I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Shah, best decession I ever made. After examining my thumb he said the best treatment would be a cortisone shot. I just finished steroid packet with my primary doctor and did not help. Did a follow up visit a week later and the improvement is wonderful, can actually use my hand again. Dr. Shah has a great bedside manner and takes his time with you. His staff is also great from the time you check in until you check out. Would highly recommend Dr. Shah. read more

I was scared to death to have surgery on my shoulder, but Dr. Shau explained it carefully and answered all of my questions. I woke up to NO pain My husband had an issue with not knowing my surgery time until the day before but it all worked out. Note: This review applies only to the attached physical therapy operation. Not to the orthopedists. I'm not pleased with aspects of their physical therapy. When I arrived the first time for my evaluation, the physical therapist told me my problem was not what the doctor had determined. Really? That was ridiculous. Secondly, when I explained I would be going out of state for a few weeks, and asked if he could prescribe a few exercises to help with my recovery, he refused and said I'd have to wait till when I returned and met with the person who does the regular patient visit exercises. That was really disappointing, and seemed counterproductive. My assigned regular therapist was great however, and taught me some very helpful exercises. read more

I saw Dr. Taylor for shoulder pain. His personality was very dry and humorless which I thought was fine if he would help me. He didn't. He diagnosed me with one thing he saw on an MRI without listening to what I was telling him. My last visit he said I had tendinitis and that "your pain is not indicative of your exam". He made me feel like I was a hypochondriac when in fact I hurt so much I want to gnaw my arm off. After getting a second opinion I found out I I have frozen shoulder which does not always show up on MRIs and can be caused by auto immune disease which I have. I feel Dr.Taylor disregarded my feelings and my pain. I will never see him again. read more

Back in April 2017 , I took a terrible fall and broke my wrist, and was told by the hospital ER department and the Radiology department that I would probably lose 30-35% usage of my left hand, and that I would need surgery immediately. After much research, and asking doctors who they would choose, the winning doctor was Anand Shah M.D. He's an excellent specialist with hand surgery, and upper extremities. My hand has 100% usage, no pain at any time, and looks like there was never an injury. Finding my scar isn't easy. Perfect repair!! Well, today I took my 87 year old mama for his opinion regarding her aging wrists with tendinitis, and he was amazing with her, making the best possible plan for her success, explaining her options, and concluding that physical therapy, hand exercises, and custom braces would be best, and that surgery would be the last option. I appreciated his honesty, and his kindness and sincerity with my mama. So we are of course going with Dr. Shah's plan for success. I show everyone my success story. Had 2 surgeries by Dr. Taylor I had my right and left foot planters fasciitis surgeries about 4 months apart. I had been suffering in pain for about 4 years, I couldn't even sleep, I would wake up a few times a night in pain and with my both my feet curled up, After4 hours on my feet I was limping, in pain, feet swollen and miserable. Dr. Taylor treated me a few months before my surgeries. I want to thank all the staff at VOI for there kindness, patients, help thought it all. Dr. Taylor has amazing bed side manners he would come and verify my procedure and ask if I had any questions before surgery and right after surgery he was at my bed side letting me know how everything went during surgery and he would also contact who ever accompanied me that day for an update on my surgery, great communication. And the surgical team and staff at gateway fantastic every time. ( I had been there at gateway 3 other times before. Lol) The facility was nice and clean. Had pt with Troy but was a waste of time. Has me do exercise and then had a helper just put ice on me. One time he did it he didn't even put it on the correct shoulder. I could Do all exercises at home or Get a gym membership. Didn't feel he cared about what I was doing but cared more about the sports on TV. I've heard good things about this place. However I've never been so this is based on the phone conversation. I called the office to see if blue shield was accepted they said yes as long as it isn't through covered California. It isn't, so I said it wasn't. Understandable, I wouldn't want paid less for my services either. But I have a feeling that all doctors offices assume that ALL silver plans through blue shield are indeed through covered California. But my plan is the only one that clearly says it's only available through blue shield right on their website. So after going back and forth with the lady over the phone that it isn't and she insists it is which I actually started to believe I somehow got scammed and snuck into cc when I didn't agree to that. So I call blue shield and rip them a new one and like I said it's not covered California. Then I called back and she transferred me to someone in billing and she agreed it isn't. So them not taking my insurance is fine but if you don't know transfer me to billing at the beginning and say that and ask me if I'm willing to be a cash patient because people with true pain in need of surgery will have no problem with that. Maybe eventually I'll muster up the patience to call back and make an appointment as a cash patient but I'm slightly peeved at this point. read more

I will recommend VOI to my friends and family. I had arthroscopic knee surgery and had 28 photos to review with Dr. Taylor after my surgery. Dr. Taylor and his staff have taken the time to go over everything involving my surgery and recovery. I did experience some post operative blood clots. Members of my family have seen both Dr Shah and Dr Taylor. Each experience was great. Both Doctors were professional and showed sincere concern. Appointments were easy to obtain and the wait in the waiting room was never long, which I love. I can not stand when Dr's offices are overbooked and the wait times are extreme. The assistants as well as the front desk staff are always friendly. I also had physical therapy done next door and it was a good experience as well. I had one slight issue with the physical therapy portion, which was once I used all of my insurance approved visits they had to request more visits for me. I received a letter from my insurance stating how many more visits they approved, yet I never heard back from anyone at the physical therapists portion to schedule these appointments, even though they said they'd call me when they found anything out. Luckily I feel completely better and do not feel I need anymore PT. It wasn't a big issue, but I would think they'd be on top of it. I'll definitely return for any future orthopedic needs. read more

Dr. Shah is an amazing doctor. He patiently listened to my questions, gave thoughtful responses that addressed exactly what I was asking for. I never felt rushed or overlooked (which is often the case when dealing with doctors) and in fact, felt that everyone on his staff was super friendly, helpful and efficient.
