The fact that multiple teachers leave after a year (or two) and people tend to pull their kid out of this school speaks volumes for itself. This is a school where the "name" exceeds the experience. As a very involved parent, whose child is was also a minority here, there was a lot of nitpicking that went on and pointing out things in my child that I would see in other children volunteering yet it doesn't seem like anything was done for the other children as far as disciplinary actions. Ms. Wallin is also a problem, she plays favorites and watch out if you or your kid isn't one of them. There is unfairness that goes on with administration and some teachers. They hold kids accountable for things they did in Kindergarten, even if it's been years, unfavorable kids must be perfect. I remember being so excited when my child got into Uplift North Hills feeling like he was going to be supported mentally, emotionally, and academically. I've had teachers tell me they take their children out of this school before middle school and high school so 'their kid to be a kid'. If you don't want your kid to be well rounded with sports, social skills, and experiences, along with academics, welp.. this may be the school for your child.

He is a very gentle, sweet, loving, and jovial boy who is non-verbal and pre-mobile (meaning he scoots on his butt or walks with a gate trainer to get around). In order to "protect him from the more rambunctious kids", he was tied down to a chair designed for a paraplegic allowing him no movement for the whole 8 hour school day. Week after week his teacher would report that he was always tired and sleeping in class as if I was doing something wrong at home. I couldn't figure out why when he had never had any issues going to bed early. Then, one day I got the day for kindergarten graduation mixed up and popped in on the class unexpectedly only to find him tied down, separated by himself, and parked in a corner. (The quotation at the top of the paragraph was the teacher's excuse.) I returned with the police to do a wellness check, so that his condition would be reported. The front desk receptionist (who was related to the teacher), called the teacher and told her to bring my son to the office so she wouldn't be caught red handed. Too many times during the school year, I was informed AFTER school that my son didn't eat that day for one reason or another (food allergy related mostly) instead of telling me to bring him something so he wouldn't have to starve all day. I spoke to the principal, vice principal, ARD committe, etc. and nobody cared about my son only what was convenient for the staff. I pray everyone involved reaps what they sowed into my poor helpless boy who suffered deep depression that school year because of their evil hearts. Including those teachers and staff members who watched this abuse and neglect only to make smart comments to me when I'd drop him off or pick him up to say, he needs to go bed earlier. Who wouldn't sleep if they were tied down, for 8 hours a day? Who would eat from the hands of people who treat you like the scum on the bottom of their shoes? Lord, please heal me and my baby. We deserved so much better.

I was so hesitant about leaving my baby girl... she is my first child, and I'm a total worrywart. But at Primrose Coppell, I know that she is getting the three most important aspects of childcare, to me at least: 1. Her basic needs are met. She is fed, changed, and given naps on a consistent basis, and those are all included on a daily report for me. This should be pretty standard for any daycare. 2. She is educated and encouraged to develop milestones. This unfortunately isn't provided at all care centers. At Primrose, children are read to, taught sign language, listen to music, venture outside in good weather, and care providers do little art projects like handprint paintings with them. You might think a three-month-old won't benefit from all of this, but studies show that the first three years of life is crucial for brain development and exposing them to all sorts of new experiences and education at this time is highly beneficial. 3. She is loved. I have seen many of the staff snuggle and play with, make silly faces until the babies smile, and generally delight in my child's and other children's interactions. I couldn't leave her with a cold, uncaring staff, but that does not happen here. I am a bargain shopper, so the pricetag is a little higher than I originally wanted to pay. However, it is 100% worth it. I haven't second-guessed this choice since Day One, and I love watching my baby girl grow and thrive in this environment.

The curriculum is solid, and it's clear they focus on learning and development. That said, there were a few things that could have been better -- communication wasn't always consistent, and at times it felt like there was a lack of attention to individual needs. It's not a bad place by any means, but with a few improvements in leadership and parent engagement, it could be much better. Overall, it's okay -- right in the middle for me.

While my background is admittedly very limited in this subject matter, I would be more inclined towards the Creative Curriculum (like our daughter's previous school) or HighScope. I also provided a critical review on another forum, and I was met with retaliation from the owner, demanding over a phone call to me that the post be removed. I was simply sharing my expectations, and how the academic standards fell far short of how our children were developing. The owner proceeded to publicly divulge private, personal matters in his response, and even sided with and made concerted efforts with the mother in an effort to diminish me, and dismissing my valid concerns. We had an in-person appointment on Friday at the school to discuss further, which I have now cancelled, because of this public demonstration of retribution from the owner himself. Is this the kind of place you want to entrust your child's development? The unprofessional manner in which the owner, the director, and the teachers all combined their efforts in order to denigrate me, especially on a public forum, is very concerning: a company was unable to handle criticism, and in turn, publicly shamed me as a parent.

I love that they have a longer school day (8:45 a.m. - 2 p.m.) but you can do extended hours (7:45 a.m. - 4 p.m.) if you want/need to. I also love that you can customize your schedule and it's not just a Tuesday/Thursday-type thing. In addition to regular classroom instruction, the kids go to literacy, gym, Chapel, computer and library. They also do such adorable annual events like Mother's Day Tea, Donuts with Dad, Thanksgiving feasts, Christmas and Valentine's parties, etc. Totally worth every penny!!!

Called before going and expressed what days I was interested in and that I would need my son to start Monday. They told me that was great and to come in person to tour the place. I also had sent two emails previously one expressing the cost for previous schedule I needed and one asking if cloth diapers would be okay and also letting them know my son is non verbal. Well got a response for my first email but not the second. Anyways as I get there the front desk lady immediately begins to print out emails to show me which I didn't understand why and then I proceed with asking questions about cloth and ratio in the class and let them know my son was in the process of being tested for Autism. Well not only was I told cloth diapers are not permitted ( which I was willing to switch to disposable if needed) but I was also now told that now they didn't have full time availability anymore. Along with a paper that they printed for me that had other daycare numbers that they said would fit more for my child's needs. Julie the director also proceeded to tell me that maybe I should look into the public school system and try to get him in their as soon as I can. ( my son is 2 1/2 years old ) I was also asked where do I live which to me that's totally irrelevant to all this. The only thing I got from this experience was they now didn't have availability because my son is non verbal and in line for being tested for Autism. How sad that I had to go to my car and cry that my son was being rejected because of his needs after dealing with this suppose Christian facility. We are children's directors in our church and I would never reject a child no matter what his needs are.

We attended NTLC for about a year and a half after coming from another daycare where we had a…read morereally difficult experience. When we first started, my son was 3 years old, and we truly loved his teacher. He adjusted well, was happy, and we felt like we had found a good fit for our family. Things started to change when he turned 4 and moved into the Pre-K classroom. During his time in that class, there were 3-4 teacher changes, and the lack of consistency was very difficult for him. We started seeing more behavioral struggles and tried to work with the school to figure out how we could support him together. Unfortunately, we often felt like communication was lacking, and we weren't getting a clear picture of what was happening during his days there. By the time we were made aware of the full extent of the issues, his behaviors had escalated to things like hitting, biting, and trying to leave the school. Even then, we felt the severity of what was happening was not fully communicated. A few months before they decided to unenroll him, we started receiving more details about what had been happening. These were things we felt should have been documented and communicated on the days they occurred, rather than being shared months later. We provided multiple plans and suggestions and truly tried to partner with the school. However, it often felt like our ideas were dismissed with a "we can't do that," or they would try something once or twice and decide it wasn't working. There was no consistent approach, and we never felt like everyone was working toward the same goal. This experience was disappointing because we genuinely wanted to work together to help our son succeed. Unfortunately, I would not recommend NTLC for children who are strong-willed, struggle with transitions, or need additional behavioral support. If your child does not fit the expectations outlined in their handbook, it felt like the staff struggled to determine how to best support them. While there were staff members we appreciated, our overall experience was that the communication and support from administration were not what we needed during a challenging time. We also found that questions and feedback were often met with defensiveness rather than an open conversation focused on finding solutions.

We even recommended them to several of our friends. NLTC made becoming parents so much smoother. We learned so much from the staff and how wonderfully they run their program. We moved out of state and leaving them was the hardest part. A special shout out to all of the girls on the management team (Chloe, Taylan, Akhia, Liz and Karina) and our favorite teachers Miss Ashley, Miss Blayne, Mr. Francisco, Mr. Spencer and Miss Quinn. Truly all of the staff is so incredible though!
