Dr. Pelekanos is truly a rare find. From the very beginning, he has taken the time to really listen, not just to my symptoms, but to me as a person. I have never once felt rushed, brushed off, or minimized. He is thoughtful, patient, and incredibly thorough in a way that makes you feel genuinely cared for. What stands out most is how invested he is in his patients. If something is not working, he moves appointments sooner or personally calls to check in and adjust the plan. He is easy to get ahold of, responds quickly, and never makes you feel like a burden. He cares about overall health, not just symptom management, and does not prescribe casually or unnecessarily. I started off with Valley Sleep center with a virtual appointment at another office. We had a good chat and overall the nurse I had talked to was interested in helping me, but did not have my test results to be able to recommend anything. A few days later I got a call saying she had gotten information/testing from my last sleep specialist and their scheduling team got me an appointment at the Scottsdale office due to my insurance. Their Scottsdale office should be avoided at all costs. My appointment started with nurse only bothering to print out my sleep record. She took (quite literally) two minutes to explain my sleep record to me and asked if I had any questions. At this point I was confused, as this was supposed to be a follow up from my last appointment. It was clear that the nurse did not care at all; she was clearly not prepared (she didn't go over any of the test results or other medical data the last nurse was sent), could not even answer my medical questions (she admitted she was not a pulmonologist which made me question why she was working here or doing my appointment in the first place??), kept mishearing my questions intentionally (I asked if my lung issues might have been allergy or an infection, she kept going on about how "soap can't cause infections" which I DID NOT ask at all???) and just honest to god, completely wasted my time. All she did was order supplies for me and wrote down information for a referral to a specialist. It was insulting and I felt like she literally did not want me to be there. There was then the issues with David, their referral specialist. He has the audacity to call me and tell me that the nurse who had wasted my time earlier that day did not even bother to send him the information for the specialist so I had to do the leg work for him and send the information to him instead of emailing or asking her for it. The next day he couldn't even find the specialist I had asked for and again, I had to do the leg work and tell him to just send my information to a specialist group. The specialist receives the referral a few days later and calls me to tell me they cannot admit me because my referral was missing diagnosis codes. I have literally waited months for this appointment due to having lung issues and I am no where near closer to finding out why I'm having problems. If anyone who works here is reading this; these two are horribly, dangerously incompetent and need to be fired. They do not care enough to be working in the medical field and are one careless appointment away from harming someone. read more

Updated on March 6, 2024 Poor customer service! Wow! Today I texted to hopefully, reschedule my sleep study that I cancelled, for this Friday evening, now in two days. They can't reschedule me by text, even though I cancelled by text. Here I am on hold well past 22 minutes, now. I was the first in line. But I'm waiting 22 minutes? Still waiting. This is a joke. Everywhere I call anymore, I'm always on an endless hold. They need more than one person answering the phone! called in response to two separate text messages. I was on a long hold. I guess Infinity Sleep Centers closed their locations, so now I have to come here. If you want forms ahead of time, request them when you schedule the sleep study. The website doesn't over the forms on my phone. Split night sleep study is the worst. They want to make sure you still can't breathe while you sleep! Every time you change Medicare advantage plans, you have to have a new sleep study. read more

I really hope that whomever owns this place reads these reviews and actually does something to fix this practice because its completely broken. If you're an individual, do yourself a favor and DON'T go here. They constantly book you out very far in advance, like we are talking 3-4 months in advance, so then as you get closer, they cancel your appointment and tell you it's going to be another 3 months. This happened to me 2x already. There's a crossover with the people that actually give you the cpap machine, but all they want to talk about is insurance. Then if you call them, they threaten you with claims that your insurance won't cover it if you don't follow up with them, but how are you supposed to follow up if they keep canceling your appointments!? There must be other options in the valley, and if there are, I will be finding them. This place doesn't respect your time or your MEDICAL ISSUE! My God imagine this was a terminal illness clinic? My doctor referred me to this center for testing. I was able to make the appointment okay but was not able to find out what my insurance would cover, if anything. I called a week prior to my appointment and was told they verify insurances a week prior so I should call back or check the pt portal. Two days prior to my appointment I called the office again, after a 14 minute wait time I was told the billing office was working on it and I should know in a couple of days. I told her my appointment is in two days and I wanted to prior to the appointment and prior to their 24 hour cancellation period. She just repeated that I should know in a couple days. It scary if that's the kind of people they have in their office and billing department I concerned on what happens after the sleep study. I cancelled the appointment. read more

It's just weird sleeping in what amounts to a Red Roof Inn room (that's not that clean) with dozens of wires attached to you. Then they wake you up at 2 to attach an iron lung (cpap) machine to you. The attendant was nice enough. She was ok with my warped sense of humor so that's a plus. Could not wait to go home and get a hot shower. read more

They'll send you a text telling you to call them to set an appointment, and then they don't answer their phones. So you leave a message, and they send you another text. Lather, rinse, repeat. Once you're signed on and they're collecting a monthly fee from you, they couldn't care less about you. Got a doctor referral to them from my doctor. Not too difficult in making an appointment. Office staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The doctor I saw was pushing the overnight sleep study but acquiesced to me doing the at home sleep study, which I did. The results were right on the border line of "needing treatment." The next doctor I saw was incredibly pushy about having their in-house sleep study, not to see if I needed a C-Pap, but to determine which settings to use. She had pre-determined that I definitely needed one. I told her we were doing nothing at all. I said IF I changed my mind, I would contact them. Apparently that wasn't clear as they began calling to "schedule my appointment." Twice I said don't call me, I'll call you if I want an appointment. Still getting calls. They have no regard for what their patients want. I wouldn't go back to them if they were the only providers available. Stay away. Stay far, far away. read more

Such a joke. After long wait times on the phones, I finally booked an appointment. I made an appointment with Maria Izdebski after waiting for over 2 MONTHS. Valley Sleep Center called me at 5:30pm THE NIGHT BEFORE my 10am appointment to let me know the provider was going out of the country. Out of the country but calling me less than 24hrs in advance? Okay. No worries- I am an understandable person. I was willing to reschedule thinking they would get me in ASAP after waiting for so long. Nope. They told me the next available appointment, with any provider, on any day- was at the end of August; an additional 2 months of waiting! My other options were to go to their Goodyear or Gilbert locations, well over an hour from my house in one direction. Mind you, had I cancelled my appointment within 24hrs, I would have had to pay $100 to them. Apparently, this business can cancel less than 24hrs prior and push you off for over 2 months and truly give ZERO CARES about actual patient care. ABSOLUTE JOKE. 0/10 recommend. read more

One of the worst experiences I have ever had at a medical facility. The front staff were nice people and had their hands tied. My nurse practitioner told me that they work with Lincare to set up my CPAP machine and provide the CPAP hose and breathing masks. The nurse told me Lincare would be getting ahold of me the next day. Well the next day came and went without any communication. On Friday I called Lincare because the people at Valley Sleep Clinic couldn't seem to get my order over to Lincare to process. My question to them was why as a consumer am I paying for a service to then do their work? Well, I called Lincare and they didn't have all the information from Valley Sleep Center and were unable to have my order processed. I then had to manage the situation by calling Valley Sleep Center back to inform them of needed forms they didn't send. This went on and on and after awhile I became frustrated. I asked to be called back for updates but no one ever did as they promised to do. A manager wouldn't even call me back. It's been over 1 week now and no one has reached out to help me regarding my medical condition failing to provide me with medical help. This place is a complete disaster and if you like managing your health care this place is for you because most of the employees at Valley Sleep Center or Lincare don't have a clue or could care less. I am doing what is necessary to make a formal complaint regarding the 2 health care facilities. This is not the type of service people expect when you are charged for services. This is the first review I have ever done and Valley Sleep Center and Lincare need to be avoided! read more

Absolutely horrible, waited on hold everytime I call them for 20-30 minutes, HIRE PEOPLE!

Every aspect of Valley Sleep Center is awful, from scheduling, the sleep over, ordering supplies, customer service....EVERYTHING! The Sleep study room was dated and the linens and blankets were old and had holes in them. When I checked in they demanded I pay my Medicare deductible to them. They had my money for 4 months that should have been sent to Medicare. This caused problems with other Dr. appointments and them saying I haven't met my deductible when I did. Valley Sleep Center had the money. Prior to the sleep over, I was hounded about the appointment and what the fee would be if I missed it, emails, text messages. Not just a friendly reminder, constant messages. They woke me in the morning and when I met with the Doctor to go over my results they said I didn't spend enough time there and needed to go back again for another sleep over. I got there at 8:30 they woke me at 5:00. This is not acceptable. I just got a reminder that I can re-order supplies, I did and that again is an awful mess. I have no trust in the company. read more

I certainly wish I had seen the reviews of this office BEFORE making an appointment for my husband's sleep study! Horrible customer service, non-existent follow-up. The distinct impression is that they want to do the study so they can charge your insurance company. As for follow-up....WHAT follow-up? It has been 3 weeks since the study and we have received sketchy, technical information, no comprehensible explanations whatsoever, AND no contact from the supplier of CPAP machines that was recommended by our insurance company after Valley Sleep Center tried to send us to a supplier with an abysmal BBB record! "Get the money now, to heck with whether the patient receives any real treatment for the problem." They don't even return phone calls when we try to get answers....just a promise that "someone will call you," which never happens. read more

Unfortunately and while the physicians may be qualified, Valley Sleep is a "patient mill", where you are simply a number. And good luck if you need to call them to rectify a bill. You will be on hold forever and then told you have to leave a message. It's really disappointing to see the lack of personalized service here. Also they made us pay what was supposed to be our portion of insurance upfront only to find they made errors and owed us money back. Of course we were not permitted to see the doctor until we paid the "ransom" first! It's a shame that this such a non personal experience! Unbelievably poor customer service. I've been promised someone would return my call now 3 times w no response what so ever! I've even stopped in their office & voiced my frustrations w the receptionist who offered to look into my issues & call me back. CRICKETS! This has all happened (or not happened, depending on how you look at it) over the course of the last 6 or 7 weeks. I get the impression they are just a factory that has to turn as much volume as possible to make money. All of which I don't have a problem with as long as the customer service doesn't lack & this place is one of the worst I've ever seen! They just don't care! I wonder if this review will get a response from the owner of Valley Sleep Center. I've noticed in reading the reviews here on Yelp, she is selective in who she responds to. I'm left with a bad taste of Valley Sleep Center even though it started out well. Nice waiting room; nice front desk staff members. I went for a sleep study, which was scheduled pretty quickly. It turned out I had sustained a shoulder/neck injury that day of the sleep study, so it was very hard to have all those wires running down the left side of my neck. It was very painful, yet the technician didn't have any suggestions and would not change the wires to the right side of my body when asked. The technician didn't listen very well, and talked very quickly, hard to understand his accent. When I needed him to assist me, he came and left before I knew it. The room and bathroom didn't seem very clean. Kind of gross, actually. Old TV with poor picture quality, and remote control very hard to use. I probably shouldn't have used it, as it was likely dirty. The worst part of my multiple experiences with Valley Sleep Center is just that -- they require many appointments that are minutes long, seemingly so they can bill me and my insurance, over and over again. During the sleep study night, I was billed an extra $155 for "medical services." There were no medical services rendered by a tech who is trained in wiring up people -- not trained as a clinician. After the study, had to have an appointment just to say, "yes, you could use a CPap and we'll set you up with our sister company at this same location to get your equipment." The sister company, Valley Sleep Therapy, made me feel like Valley Sleep Center is pulling a fast one on government rules that say you cannot purchase sleep equipment from the Sleep technicians, so they spin up a different company name under a different tax ID, and have all the employees work at the same center, use the same front-office schedulers and so on. My representative who showed me how to use the equipment seemed disengaged and just wanted me to get out of there quickly. He kept saying that since I've been a cpap user previously, that I know the drill, I know how to work these things. Actually, my new machine is quite different than my old cpap. This one is an "APap" for "automatic" -- it turns on and off by itself after detecting that it's hooked up to my face, or no longer on my face. It's a nice machine that I can get info from by looking at my phone app. At any rate, I was charged an extra $100 for "training" on how to use the machine. These extra charges are ones that my insurance won't pay. I've had to have five appointments, all with large price tags, which seem about three too many. I just now cancelled my one-month follow-up appointment after using my machine for a month. They'll charge some fees that are sky high just to say, "yep, we see you're using your machine; all good?" .. seems a waste of time and money to me. I don't know how to prove it, but it seems some kind of insurance fraud is going on with this place. Too many appointments with too many hidden fees. Not my kind of place. I'll likely go to Amazon when it's time to order new supplies. read more

I would have given them 5 stars up to and until I received my machine. Since then they are definitely 1 star! I almost feel duped. They were attentative and everything went fine up until I received my machine. Ever since then no one answers the phone or texts when trying to order supplies for the machine. They tell you to text CPAP to a number and I do that - They immediately respond asking what I need and once I tell them then there is radio silence. I am so frustrated that after 6 months of having this machine I am ready to return it and go somewhere else even though that will probably mean having to redo tests and start all over again... What is even more frustrating is that I received an email the other day stating that they understand there has been a problem in the past with long waits and that they are correcting the problem - Well, I just contacted them again for supplies and literally nothing has chanced - It has been three days now since I inquired about getting supplies and no reply... read more

This place saved my life and my relationship. I have had issues sleeping and as a result my girlfriend has suffered as well. After the in home sleep test it was determined that I was having 24 sleep interruptions per hour which caused significant snoring episodes, and keeping my girlfriend from sleeping as well. I went to Valley Sleep Center based on a recommendation from a friend, I could not be more pleased with their professionalism, genuine concern for my wellbeing. Their facilities are very nicely appointed and their staff is caring and compassionate. They had to take an in home sleep as my insurance would not cover the more in depth sleep test at their facilities. I have seen the sleep rooms and they are very warm and look very comfortable. As I stated earlier, the in home test showed I had 24 sleep episodes an hour, essentially telling the physicians I had sleep apnea. They asked several question regarding my sleep style, how I slept, and provided many options and their effectiveness. I settled on a CPAP. The unit I have is very quite and turns on automatically. It also sends all my sleep data to the doctors office and to my phone, with detailed reports. I chose the nose pillows for the air delivery which took a few nights to get use to, but it is routine now. The person who trained me on the CPAP was amazing, and patiently walked through all the steps and answered all my questions. He showed me the proper way to install the tuning and wear the mask and had me test all the mask options. The best thing is, my sleep episodes are down from 24 am hour to averaging 1 per hour. I have not felt better and more testing in a long time and my girlfriend could not be happier and is well rested, which makes me happy as well. read more

If you are looking for a professional level of care, this is the wrong place Lincare provides the equipment and is also not the place to depend on. My Dr evaluated my sleep study and ordered my equipment to be delivered to me immediately. Three MONTHS later I still do no have it. No one has ever contacted me, I have to call them for updates. I run a business in Arizona where communication, customer service and listening to the client are the most important elements of any company. When I first went to Valley, the service and attention to detail were exactly of what I would expect from a health care professional. For some unexplained reason, those elements of this medical provider have disappeared completely. As an operation/medical provider where a web portal is only operational half the time, communication is nonexistent when it comes to vital or critical information, there is no follow through on urgent medical needs or requests... "and" when a patient/customer calls to make an inquiry only to reach a "call center, not the office", only to be disconnected twice by the operator....! This is completely unacceptable. In order to resolve an issue and having to call three times, being on collective hold for over an hour, then to be disconnected twice (even though the person at the call center knew I was on the phone), I physically visited the Scottsdale location to obtain the document that was told to me would be sent in the patient portal on the first call, but never was. The counter staff at the Scottsdale location are warm and wonderful, but that does not make a company. To make matters worse, as I was in the office, the other patient that was there in the office also expressed the very same experience on the phone with the call center as I did. Medical providers need to ensure a level of trust, competence and customer service with a patient, not a feeling of "once they have your money from a visit, you are just another number to them". We realize that staffing needs are tough, even a serious challenge however, when a business fails to understand the simple operational structure of customer/patient assurance, it is time to bring your business to another provider who appreciates your patronage. read more

Back in 2015 I went through their entire sleep study for Sleep Apnea, stayed overnite hooked up to about 15 wires, it was ridiculous. Naturally, I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and was sold a $400 + Resmed Airsense 10 sleep machine and had to pay for 2 separate doctor appts. Fast forward 4 years and my machine needs a new hose and a new mask because the hose has a hole in it. I allied Valley Sleep center and was told I couldn't order these pieces without a dr's. Prescription. When I got there I was told that because my ins plan had a deductible I would be dunned for $185. The "doctor" who it turned out was not a doctor but a nurse practitioner took all of about 4 minutes with me and then told me he would have the rep from the Resmed company call me to order the pieces, almost a month later They have still not called. What a joke!!! But, the good news is I went to Amazon and found out I can buy the items online for about 1/2 I would have to pay to the Resmed people. Don't deal with these clowns and maybe they'll go out of business. read more

Won't even qualify for in-clinic test until in-home test is inconclusive, which pcp predicts will happen. Each step is additional cost. Will seek other options before I wear the gas mask. Our HSA dwindles even though we seek preventative care. Awesome. I know some will say, well that's your insurance. But look at that initial visit cost they are charging and you tell me what's happening here. read more

I was especially impressed with Andrew the Respiratory Therapist who reviewed my study with me and answered my questions. Andrew thoroughly explained everything about the Cpap machine-from start to finish. I never felt rushed and was assured I could contact him with any additional questions or needs. Andrew told me he would follow up with a call in a week and he did. I believe this center performed the study appropriately and the added benefit of having Andrew teach me about the machine and what to expect was a bonus. read more

This place is a complete rip off. They take advantage of the poor and elderly as their in the process of trying to rip off my mother who needs help not a crooked scheme of a business. She had ordered a sleep study a few months ago. She then was told she had to do another one. So I had to pay for this one because she just couldn't swing the 150 again. This was a couple weeks ago. Now their saying that she has to come back again (surprise, surprise) for a consultation to get fitted. Are you serious? What is wrong with you people.
