I will not be going here anymore, as setting an appointment is completely fruitless and frustrating. I set an appointment online and then was told that that appointment was not actually available. So then I spoke to a human and rescheduled for the next day at 9 AM, only to be told six hours later at that appointment also wasn't available. They would not give me the option of seeing a different provider, and now I can't see anyone for an urgent issue for another two weeks. I'm not sure what the problem is, but the service has gone very downhill since I have been there. read more

I've been going there for two years. Huge change of staff. The phone is rarely answered it goes into voicemail, then no one ever replies. The appearance of the office has deteriorated. It looks dirty, the floors are not clean but smeared with dirt! There was such a turnover of staff it is not the same. I do not recommend them anymore. I have gone elsewhere. First, if you are considering this practice I advise that you put these reviews in date order to see what has been happening. I have been a patient at this practice since 2007. Sadly, I am looking for a new facility. Although for some reason I haven't been scheduled with Dr. Spieldoch for several years, the providers I've met with along the way have been really great. Most recently it is Leighton Mendez and Jennifer Kolle. Both take their time to listen and work with you and I will miss them greatly. However, for the past year and half I have had SO MANY issues with prescription refills that I can no longer afford their mistakes. I have had to go without meds on at least 2 occasions due to the office not calling in refills even after multiple phone calls and faxes from me and my insurance and my pharmacy. The newest med I am on costs $100 for 1 month or $199 for 3 months. After many conversations about this and many mistakes, they have just cost me another $99 dollars by calling it in incorrectly a third time. I am now out of pocket a total of $300 over the course of a few months. I used to be able to leave a message for the practice manager who would call me back. But I believe she must no longer be there. I have left NUMEROUS messages about this most recent $99 and I finally got 1 return call from a gentlemen who sounded angry and said it was the pharmacy's fault and he was calling them right now and he would call me back. Well, he quicky found out it was NOT the fault of the pharmacy but once again their error. And he still has not called me back even though I've left 2 or 3 messages since that time (nearly 2 weeks ago now). It's truly unbelievable to me that a place I've gone to for 18 years won't even pick up the phone and call me back. If these issues had subsided after a couple months and after all the phone calls with the office manager, that would be one thing. But the fact that it's been going on for nearly 2 years tells me they don't care to fix the problem. To Rachel, Jennifer, and Leighton, thank you for your care for the last 18 years. I hate that I have to leave due to such an incompetent staff. And as for Ross's canned response, you've had nearly 2 years to fix it. As of 6/18 no one has reached out at all. Shameful. read more

I've been meaning to leave this review for some time, but hadn't had the chance. I had been visiting this office for years and, surprisingly, had never met the doctor herself, only her PA for my annual visits. Which her PA Jennifer has always been very kind. Last summer, I brought my daughter in as she was exploring birth control options. The front desk was extremely rude to her and provided no instructions about important steps, such as leaving a urine sample when a procedure required a full bladder. Without providing further personal health details, there was a lot of miscommunication while we were still waiting in the waiting room, from the person who was supposed to perform an ultrasound to the front desk staff. This was also a 2nd appointment that was made a month after our original appoint was cancelled because they were short on staff. Our frustration with how my daughter was being treated eventually turned into a screaming match between us and the front desk. When we raised our concerns with Dr. Spieldoch, she told us to find a new doctor if we were so unhappy. Our new doctor and their front desk staff have been wonderful. The one star is actually for Dr. Spieldoch's suggestion to leave; otherwise, I would rate this office zero. I understand working with the public can be difficult, as staff must handle all types of personalities. However, I suggest not working in healthcare and dealing with patients who are feeling vulnerable and upset if you cannot maintain a level of professionalism and care. read more

I found this doctor through my insurance provider. After attempting to call and make an appointment, but only getting voicemail options, I went online to schedule an appointment. I scheduled the appointment based on the availability they offered online. I completed all of the pre-registration questions and insurance information and submitted it. When I showed up for my appointment 3 days later, I was told that I did not have an appointment because an appointment is only confirmed if the office calls me to confirm the appointment. Yes, I was equally confused by that logic! I asked how long I should wait for a confirmation of an appointment and I was told that they usually confirm those appointments within 24 hours. I had set the appointment several days prior. Additionally, it would make sense that an appointment would be confirmed or declined prior to the actual appointment that I set. I was given the reason for the delay of them being understaffed and shortstaffed. I was offered an appointment three hours later that same day. Unfortunately, I had taken time for this appointment and could not take any more time off due to work obligations. I called and left a message for the office manager, but have not heard anything back. Surprise! Considering they couldn't call me within four days to confirm an appointment that I didn't know needed confirmed. I couldn't tell you if the doctor is good or not, because I couldn't get past her incompetent staff and procedures. read more

The entire office at this facility is amazing. I've been going there for many years and would never go anywhere else. Dr. Spieldoch is not only completely competent as a physician and surgeon, she's also extremely thorough and compassionate. This Dr. Literally saved my life. I went in for a office visit, due to some abdominal pain. 1 hour later, we were in emergency surgery for a hemorrhagic ovarian cyst. This woman is amazing. Canceled her entire day to perform a 6 hour emergency surgery on me. Grateful is not the word. I Highly recommend them. I can't believe that anyone would have anything negative to say about the facility, the care, the team. Nor would I ever believe anyone if they did. I refer them every chance I get. read more

Who really wants to go to the gynecologist... right? I am taking time to write my first Yelp review for an extraordinary gynecologist with an equally exceptional staff. I have been going to Rachel Spieldoch for many years. She has twice operated on me, both times with excellent results. This past month it was for a hysterectomy utilizing robotics. The operation went splendidly, and two weeks later, I feel amazing. I received plenty of pre- and post-preparation, and had not a concern in the world as I knew for certain that I was in good hands. Whenever she meets with me, whether for a regular appointment or operation day, it is if my health is all that matters. She listens, does not rush the appointment and truly cares that I feel better. The staff treats me as an old friend when I walk in, for which I could be no less thankful. Whether Kim, Liz, Savannah or and of the girls, they are true gems. Rachel Spieldoch is my pick for gynecologist and practice of the year any day. read more

If you need surgery, Dr. Spieldoch is not the doctor to trust to cut you open. I was referred to her by my PCP for a consultation to get a uterine fibroid surgically removed. A little background - many years ago I had laparoscopic surgery to remove an ovarian tumor, performed by another doctor. This procedure left me with scar tissue adhesions which have plagued me with other health issues to this day. Needless to say, I was excited to learn from her website that Dr Spieldoch is a specialist in many forms of non-invasive surgery. However, my excitement ended there as she quickly suggested removing my tubes entirely, without asking if I wanted to preserve my fertility. We then moved onto other recommendations but with no explanations as to the benefits or drawbacks between them all other than their relative level of invasiveness. I agreed to schedule a hysteroscopy, the least invasive procedure, which yes, on the surface, is what I wanted. It wasn't until a follow-up appointment with my PCP that he explained that a laparoscopic surgery would be better for discovering, diagnosing and potentially treating other issues that may interfere with my fertility. I had mentioned my fertility goals to Dr Spieldoch in our first visit and yes, she suggested laparoscopy, but without the backing my PCP offered, which caused me to still desire the hysteroscopy. I then called Dr Spieldoch's office to seek more answers and potentially change my procedure to laparoscopy, but was told I would have to make an additional appointment (and travel time and $180 copay...in addition to the pre-op already scheduled). Krisette, the office manager, was very helpful and assured me all my questions would be answered in this additional appointment, even noting so on the appointment record. However, Dr. Spieldoch entered the appointment with a defensive and accusatory attitude, admonishing me for not taking her initial recommendation, and cut me off mid-question every time I began to express my concerns and ask for more information. After a mere ten minutes she started to head for the door, telling me someone would be in to reschedule for laparoscopy. I had to bring up the note Krisette left about my questions being answered, to which she told me she didn't have the time, and that I better ask quickly to get through them before she had to go. I guess you could say I got my question answered - do I want Dr Spieldoch to cut me open, without feeling like she treated me and my concerns with respect and decency, offering me the courtesy to thoroughly explain options she offered, or simply making me feel like I mattered more than her schedule? No. As a healthcare provider myself, I understand there are sometimes patients that require a little extra time to help them feel comfortable about their healthcare choices. If you too need that from your OB/GYN, Dr Speildoch is not the one for you. read more

I had enjoyed going to Dr. Spieldoch for 2+ years but am beyond disappointed with her office support staff. I have been working with the office for over 3 weeks to try to get a temporary prescription as I have moved out of state and could not get into a new OBGYN until April. After 3 weeks of working with this office, I still have not had my prescription refilled and my old prescription has expired. I have received different responses from the office depending on the person I speak with. As of late, I was told the office could not help me with my prescription refill unless I came into the office. That is hard to do when I have moved out of state over 1500 miles away... My job has required me to move a lot in the last 5 years. I have never had so many problems requesting for a temporary prescription when I have relocated and need some time to find a new doctor. Moving is challenging enough, but to have to find new doctors and ensure your prescription coverage doesn't lapse in the time being is incredibly difficult. The lack of support and delayed responses I received from this office has been flabbergasting. Unfortunately for Dr. Spieldoch, she is a great doctor surrounded by terrible office staff. I highly recommend finding another practice that supports customer service and quality care. Update 3/19/22: After 3 weeks of trying to work with this office, the only reason I was able to resolve this situation was by calling my PCP who filled my prescription the very same day. Although this office staff may report a prescription was filled, I never received it. Until week 3, I actually had never provided my new address (RXshipping) or a new local pharmacy (pickup) to the office in order for them to even have the ability to process it correctly - we hadn't never gotten that far. There is clearly a lapse of communication and follow through. I hope this office spends more time learning and improving based on the feedback patients provide them. read more

Ok, so I don't typically leave reviews for doctors BUT this place has to be put on blast for its amazing customer service and truly qualified doctors. I can honestly say that I have never had such a positive experience receiving medical care as I have had here over the past few months. Here's why... - Appointments always run ON TIME every time (even the time I was five minutes late, they didn't bump me to end of list) - Dr. Hartzfeld LISTENS ... not just hears enough to get the gist of what you're saying but actually listens to every word and fully addresses concerns instead of a quick answer and out the door - The staff is always upbeat and they go out of their way to be friendly ...let's be honest ladies...going to the Gyn is right up there with getting a root canal - they make it a pleasant experience. - Convenience... in office ultrasounds, in office blood work, in office procedures. I really appreciate having everything located in one place and not having to deal with new staff when I'm already worried about result outcomes. read more

The back office of this place is terrible!! 2 years in a row they scheduled me before my 1 year and didn't realize it until I was in the exam room. 3 years in a row they didn't prescribe enough refills to get me through the year and then ignored my pharmacy's refill request. So now I'm stuck without my medication and of course there is no one there to take a call. I'm so upset that I don't have enough time to find a new Dr before my next appointment. read more

I am having MAJOR problems with the office she used to work at Desert Jewel (DON"T GO THERE) and I spoke with Dr. Hartzfeld's medical aid. She gave the most incredible service and was so helpful in trying to help me. She even called the office to try to get them to help me. Very fractured office. First saw Hartzfeld, who gave a diagnosis & did an (unnecessary) biopsy, which was quite painful and expensive. Three weeks later saw Spieldoch who disagreed with Hartzfeld & the treatment plan. So essentially I had a worthless, inconclusive biopsy that Hartzfeld said would give "clarity" on my condition & was treated with a strong steroid cream for three weeks for a condition I didn't have. After meeting with Spieldoch, who provided a different treatment plan for a different diagnosis, it was clear Hartzfeld was a waste of time, pain & money. When I asked Spieldoch how the diagnosis could be so different, she replied, "We aren't robots." Good to know! Spieldoch quickly pushed laproscopic hysterectomy on my first visit. After bailing on this group went to Mayo, which I now consider gold standard of care. Was seen by two gynecologists who both agreed there was no evidence for Hartzfeld's diagnosis & stated that a hysterectomy may actually worsen my condition. Beware of doctors that immediately push surgery. I've learned the best docs consider surgery as a last resort. As one doc told me, "There's nothing that surgery can't make worse." He was a Mayo surgeon. read more
