MILKING PATIENTS FOR MONEY - I went to establish care - I liked the PA I saw, but when I had a question regarding the appt and meds so I could fill the RX (2 days after appt) they said I would have to have another appt. They won't even this VERY simple question answer in the portal. I have NEVER ever had a clinic or health care clinic do this. So I was not able to talk to the nurse or doc or fill my prescription. It was a waste of money to go here! read more

So disappointed in our experience this morning. Tried calling to make an appointment for my daughter ( she is sick). Was on hold for almost 90 minutes( went from being caller number 1 to caller number 4, bizarre). So we drove over. The front desk gal told me that their scheduler's last day was yesterday and a new person starts on Monday. So, nobody is answering their phones today... at a doctor's office!!! Unbelievable!! They didn't feel bad or apologize and... they could not get her in for today... soonest appointment is Monday. We have been coming here for years. But after today's experience, we may have to find a new office that has better customer service. I'm so sad. 2 of our fave PA's have left, so maybe it's a sign to go elsewhere. This was a great practice. In the past approximately 18 months it has gone horribly downhill. Inefficient and unorganized staffing. They have decided that endless robo calls and unclear portal messages are the new way of running their practice. The providers have mentioned that they receive many complaints about this new direction. I am joining the many others that have chosen to find a new provider. read more

I called your office today on behalf of my dad. I was placed on hold for 25 min the first time and second time for 20 and still couldn't get a hold of anyone there. This is NOT acceptable. I have been a patient for about a year. The doctor who diagnosed does me with some stuff quit, left and no one picked up my chart. My medications get denied because the dr is. It there anymore. Maybe I need blood work. Who knows. That's the problem. I don't know what I need to do. It's been three days since I called for pressure renewals. Haven't heard a peep. Main doctor has never seen me. I was so grateful to find this place a year ago. Something has changed and I don't feel like they are providing adequate care for me. read more

Aveon tries to do a lot of things but it unfortunately doesn't do them very well. I was very hopeful that this clinic would be the primary care provider for my household but I've had two negative experiences with them that have left me feeling uncomfortable about continuing to receive care there. In January, I had a routine physical with a standard blood panel. The blood panel came back with some very scary and surprising results. I called Aveon to ask questions but was repeatedly stymied about actually speaking to someone who could answer my question. All the medical assistant would do is repeat the lab results. When I requested to speak with Chantelle, the PA, I was told I needed to make an appointment. I was (and still am) completely flabbergasted that they wouldn't speak to me on the phone to answer a question about a test they ordered. I wrote a letter to Dr. Fereidouni detailing my experiences and dissatisfaction. I received a call from the office manager who was apologetic and said they would review their procedures. (I never did get any answers from them and ended up following up with a specialist because I certainly didn't feel confident about the care they were - or were not - providing.) My second experience was attempting to get my family flu vaccinations. I called in August for flu shots and was told to call back in September. I called back in September and was able to make appointments for flu shots. We arrived at Aveon for our flu shots only to be informed that they were out of flu shots. They never informed us AND they caused my family to have additional potential covid exposure (we are still quarantining except for medical appointments!). I found that to be highly irresponsible and not even remotely patient-centered as they claim to be. There are a lot of appealing things about Aveon but they are not enough to keep my family or myself there. read more

The doctor had me do blood work and never called back with the results, The office said they had the results and that I would be called back, Several days later still no phone call. The Doctor also never told me about a prescription that she wrote, I learned from the pharmacy that I had a Prescription to pick up. read more

Use "policy" as a bridge, not a barrier.   Which of the following phrases to you think is deadlier for a customer to hear: "It's not my job!" or "It's against company policy!" Though you may be surprised, "It's against company policy!" is far worse than passing the buck. Why? Because "It's not my job!" leaves open the possibility of service, since it implies that the matter is somebody's job, and therefore there's hope for a solution.   A great example of the potentially devastating impact of "policy" appeared some time ago in a Wall Street Journal article. The article told of a gentleman who visited his bank in New York to cash a small personal check and asked that his parking ticket be validated. The teller explained the bank policy that cashing a personal check "was not considered a banking transaction" and, therefore, she could not validate the parking ticket.   Understandably questioning such a "policy," the gentleman asked to see the manager, who immediately parroted the teller, emphasizing that this "was not considered a banking transaction." The gentleman asked if he might write one more check. After receiving a condescending "Certainly" from the manager, the gentleman wrote a check for nearly two million dollars, with drawling all his money from the bank. Before going across the street to open a new account, he was overheard asking the bank manager, "Does this constitute a banking transaction?"   Policy should be a bridge that allows you to cross over to the customer, allows the customer to cross over to you, and when necessary, lets you meet somewhere in between. All too often, though, policy, becomes a formidable barrier to service excellence. If you have a policy that confuses employees, inconveniences customers, or worse, both, that policy needs to be seriously reevaluated.   "Because we've always done it that way" is not in itself sufficient reason to do it that way now.   "If it ain't broke, fix it anyway." About 96 percent of unhappy customers won't tell you they're unhappy. This rather alarming fact comes from a White House Council on Consumer Affairs report published some years ago. Do you know what's really scary about this statistic? It's the fact that these folks won't tell you they're unhappy. Who then will they tell? They'll tell everyone else--friends, neighbors, even people they've just met. And if positive word-of-mouth is one of the best ways to attract new business, you can be sure the testimony of an unhappy customer is one of the best ways to repel it! read more

Went two weeks ago for a physical with a specific complaint. Blood work taken, etc. No calls back regarding any test results, and was supposed to get a specialty referral which I never received. Called today, told test results on the portal (pretty sure I am not qualified to interpret the results, neither is the receptionist). Asked to speak to the doctor regarding the results and my specific complaint (which was never addressed). Told I would have to make an appointment. Speaking to the doctor by telephone not an option (although I could talk to some kind of assistant, which makes really no sense in that the doctor could answer my question in less than a minute). This place is the poster child for the state of healthcare in 2022. read more

Dr. Fereidouni, Kim Brabentz and the rest of the staff are absolutely AMAZING! As big as our city is and with all of the doctors that are out there, it is super hard to find a place like Aveon Health. They were my little gem when I found them. The staff truly cares about you and your health, they are educated, easy to get in touch with and fast at returning calls. Their online patient portal is regularly monitored too, which makes communication easy. I can't say enough about Dr. Fereidouni, Kim and the entire staff. They are definitely worth the drive! Most definitely need a change. I wrote the previous review, shortly after starting seeing them and meant every word. I had a problem and waited and waited in 2023 to see a change, thought I did, but didn't, so to be honest with everyone, it needs a change. I still believe that AnnMarie Chavez, PA-C is a terrific clinician (if she wasn't involved in the latest fiasco), Chris - the practice manager also seems to care as do several of the staff. If not for them, it would definitely drop to a 1 star review. The problems seem to begin and end with the medical director, Dr. Sam Fereidouni- who I never met. Let me explain. Earlier in March of 2023, after coming out of the hospital, I needed a medication refill that I have been on since the 1990's! This Dr. again without ever meeting me, or knowing me or my condition decided that I should come off the medication and not by tapering, which is normal, but just by refusing to refill! STRIKE 1. There were several emails that went back and forth and I was increasingly frustrated. Eventually was told that it would be called in. Of course by that time, I had been off the medication for a week! Not a smart move and it caused many problems. When it was called in, it was called in wrong... and wrong for several months. STRIKE 2. I had to bring in over 20 pages of notes and letters from several previous and current specialists, going back to the 1990's. . Then they had a "meeting" about me, but failed to include my primary provider! STRIKE 3! She assured me that it was worked out, but it wasn't. Seems to me, it was decided they didn't want me there. You know squeaky wheels make a lot of noise. Then I went to the office in the last few months and could hardly walk. I actually needed a wheelchair and after xrays, I was sent to the ER for what they thought was a serious problem. Now the problem was on my right ankle...you know what you drive with for the gas and brake. Well , no problem for them to have me drive on it, and in a lot of pain. Unfortunately, I then had a problem with ADOT and they needed a medical report that my medications were not causing an impairment. Now again, there was NO PROBLEM, refilling my prescriptions for a year or 2, so obviously they weren't impairing my ability - because if they were, then they made medical error after medical error after medical error by refilling them. Remember, they also let me drive to the ER using a hurt driving foot and while in a huge amount of pain. In fact, my provider said she had "never seen me in that much pain"... but I was OK to drive (and I was, or wouldn't have driven). Chris, the Mgr even watched me get into my car. Now, there is this form for the state. I went in for an appt, had to see someone else, and the next day after not hearing, I called them. Suddenly, the prescriptions they had been refilling for more Than a year, and was taking while driving to annual physicals, blood draws, etc... now were a problem and they couldn't or I should say wouldn't fill out the state form, even if they listed that I should retake the driver s test. Not needed, but I had no problem. There was no accident or anything, fortunately. I was told that my provider, AnnMarie agreed. STRIKE 4 and more. I WAS "OUTTA THERE". I left the practice faster than you can say HIPPOCRATIC Oath you know, "do no harm" etc. and found another practice where the doctor listened, examined, and yes... filled out the form, even after seeing my list of medications. Now, I know many don't like long reviews. I feel, give all the info and let people decide for themselves. That is why details are given. Again, I don't know if AnnMarie Chavez was actually involved in the final decision. If she was, then she isn't the clinician I gave her credit as being. If not, it is just another reason for you to stay away from this place, if her view was not taken. I once wrote to the doctor that he should go back and read his mission statement that is in big letters on the wall of the waiting room. Apparently, he hasn't done that. My advice to any who sees this is: "if you just have normal problems and nothing out of the ordinary, you could probably still go here, although I still can't recommend a place that treats patients this way. Know that your clinician's advice though will likely be overwritten at some point by a medical director who doesn't know you and doesn't want to. If on the other hand, you have ANY kind of unusual symptom or problem... if you are smart, don't trust your health to this clinic. As always, this is the truth. Stay away. read more

I had some billing questions so called them multiple times to discuss. When they eventually returned my call I was provided with very limited information. When I questioned further they said they would send the bill to collections and hung up on me. Unsurprisingly I will never visit Aveon again. I do feel bad leaving a low review, as my in-person doctor's appointments have always been fine. But good lord trying to get anything done online or over the phone is an absolute nightmare. I can't think of a time I called in and actually received good information or genuine help for my problem (currently in the process of trying to undo their most recent botched prescription). Even something as simple as getting an appointment can be a pain, and if you have any questions you might as well not even bother. It's extremely frustrating, and it's a shame such a seemingly simple thing has made it harder and harder to justify coming back when the actual doctors have always been great. read more

I think I just found my new family physician office. The employees are sweet, the clinic is clean and the Dr. was very patient with me and was not rushing. What makes it the best is she listened to two different separate issues and they didn't try to tell me I had to book another appt because they can only resolve one issue per appt. I am very impressed with this practice! After hunting for a new family practitioner I settled on Aveon, I had fairly high expectations going in and I'm happy (and a bit shocked) to report that Aveon met and exceeded all of them. First of all - I was in and out in 25 minutes. This includes wait time (perhaps 3 minutes), seeing the doctor and getting my blood taken. Incredible! Before I arrived, I was able to fill out all the new patient forms online and submit them. I know alot of offices let you download and fill out the forms to bring in with you - but this is an actual form you just fill out online and submit- no printing, filling out, signing and then forgetting to bring them in with you. Very convenient! They also have an online portal where you can see your results (blood work etc), which was available within 1 week of them taking blood. I also got a prompt call informing me of my results. I am very glad to have found a doctor that I trust, who values my time and provides great and convenient service. read more

Truly the worst. It's so unfortunate because I love the doctors, but this place cannot for the life of them get it together. I cannot tell you how many times my husband and I have had labs done where we end up having to call them over and over weeks later to get result. Both my husband and I got into separate arguments last week with the office manager who, by the end of both calls, said he was going to go over the recorded call where we were told that the Doctor would call my husband with his lab results to explain (because nobody had any idea what the labs were testing for). The most comical part about this is that even HE hasn't called us back over a week later. I had a swab lab done by the practitioner a few months back and the only thing I heard back about it was from SonoraQuest to let me know that the collection was done wrong. I never got a call from the office to come back in or anything. Nobody cares to follow up. I'm also told that it's protocol for their office to have so many people to get back to with lab results that they quote 2 weeks for you to hear anything back from their office... when I get the email from SonoraQuest within 48 hours. This is especially infuriating when you have something urgent going on and they just shrug and say "meh." I do want to disclaim that I told the office manager that if this didn't get resolved and our last visit was not credited that I would be reviewing and claiming fraud on the account because we never got results for our visit. He said "Go ahead and claim fraud, we have documentation." Okay... well here we are. They are truly lab happy because I'm sure they have a quota to fill considering they have a SonoraQuest lab in the office, which is ridiculous because they can't even get back to patients with their results. At the beginning I recommended many family members and friends to go to them, which they did. I regret that because I've gotten complaints from all of them and almost every person has found a new provider. My question to the practice: Why would you make an already stressful and potentially scary situation worse by making people think you're there to help when all you do is add more stress and frustration? Dr. Fereidouni is an amazing doctor. He personalizes health care to the patients needs. He is very informative and personable. My husband is a diabetic, and this is one of Dr. Fereidouni's many specialties. Other physicians wanted him to take insulin immediately, but Dr. Fereidouni has controlled his diabetes well with no insulin (which my husband loves). He is very in depth and always explains everything. I am a nurse, so I understand the disease but my husband doesn't. He always takes the time to explain everything to him in terms he understands. As a RN, I work with a lot of physicians who have bad bedside manners, NOT this one!!! Dr. Fereidouni is a special physician how has the best interest of the patients up front, I would recommend him to anyone. GO TO AVEON HEALTH...you wont regret it. read more

I have lived in AZ for 11 years now and I have had a hard time finding a doctor I like and trust. I was starting to give up hope. That was until I came to this office!!! They are friendly, professional and Dr. Fereidouni is one of the most ethical doctors I know. It is so nice that I have a doctor I can see the same day I call the office. Went in and saw my PA, Kim, which was fine. I asked her about managing my 93 year old mother, she said she'd be happy to. So I set up an appointment. I spent 20-30 minutes filling out new patient paperwork. My mom gets a voicemail confirming with some other provider in the office. So I'm a little upset about it, I call. They tell me it was a mistake, but Kim's not even in that day. I smell a rat, but I ask when the next appt is (keep in mind we already waited around two weeks). It's two days later, so I'll take it. I asked the lady, "I'm not going to have this problem again, am I?" she assured me sarcastically I wouldn't have to worry about it again. Next day, guess what? Another voicemail confirming for a different provider. So I call angrily, they just don't know what happened, but Kim's not available that day either. Now I'm really mad. This lady transfers me to the office manager, I leave a message, and I haven't been called back. It's been almost a month. Never got an explanation as to why I was pawned off. Similar problems with lab work as described - I got a callback from someone other than my provider who couldn't answer questions or say anything other than "eat more lean protein". duh! Loved Kim but that operation is a disaster. What's going to happen if I REALLY need them? I have no confidence. I don't plan on returning. My mother will not be a new patient. read more

Horrible experience!!! They would not see my teenage daughter unless she agreed to get vaccinated within 30 days! This was after we checked in and were taken to the room!!! And, we drove 30 minutes each way. First of all, this is not a communist country, I/we can do our own research, maintain our own religious beliefs and make our own decisions in this matter. Second, why wasn't this business' rule' disclosed when I made the appointment? Third, they never called/emailed with an appt reminder, I had to call them to confirm the appt. Two weeks ago I went in for blood work with a suspected case of mumps. Despite calling them daily and requesting the results, they still haven't called back. The worst part is that I was in contact with my elderly in laws and wanted to alert them of my (confirmed) condition. Evidently, new patients are not a priority. Being new to the Scottsdale area I was recommended to Aveon Health. When I arrived, (8:45am) the main receptionist was not at the desk and a girl that had her back towards me, finally turned around a minute later and said "you have an appointment?" I answered "yes" and in the same dull tone, she said "ID and insurance card" she then asked if I filled out the paperwork online and told her I was not instructed to which was following up with a gratuitous eye roll and I was instructed to download the app. I almost walked out, but a very pleasant receptionist walked into the waiting room, gave me some papers on a clipboard, and politely asked me to fill out both sides and return them to her when done. After finishing up paperwork, I approached the desk again at 9:25am asking if I would be taken back sooner for my 9 AM appointment. She told me they had me down at 9:30 and I explained that I had made the appointment weeks in advance and they offered me an 830 or a 9 o'clock and I took the nine. Due to another appointment scheduled, I had to leave prior to even being seen... but they did take my CoPay!!!! I told the receptionist I was hesitant as to whether or not, I wanted to be seen at this location due to my first impression. She politely apologized and said that she would have the nurse contact me shortly, during the time that I should've been seen for a follow up phone call.... NO ONE EVER CALLED. read more

People like this should NOT work in healthcare especially during such a challenging time. This has to be the best primary care office in N. Scottsdale! I have been a patient now for many years and see Dr. Cooper. She is highly knowledgeable and has a great bed side manner. She understands all my alignments and talks me through many different medications. During COVID and now they have a place to park in back, call in and get tested. I have talked to all my friends and none of their doctors offer this for their patients. I am very thankful to have an office so close to me and have Dr. Cooper as a PCP. read more

I do NOT recommend Dr. Fereidouni for Type 1 diabetics. He may have overall book knowledge but he has NO idea how it works in practice. I've been successfully managing Type 1 for a long time yet he was rude and condescending. He actually refused to review the information I had for him which detailed all of my issues. When I walked over to show him something on my cgm he told me "I could sit down now" as I was explaining the data. He has NO idea what living with Type 1 is like 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. (The reason I went to him was simply to get his input into a new diabetes medication that he supposedly knows about, according to the manufacturer of the medicine.) read more
