I can't say anything except compliments about Valley Tree about the quality of the work, their work ethic and teamwork, and their knowledge of their work. Valley Tree has a certified Arborist on staff.  The arborist is Jon Greifenberger.  He is one of the principals of the company. He is hands on, and did the climbing, and also took the time to explain what he was doing and why, and to answer all our questions. When we took our hedges down, before replanting, we had to get rid of all of the roots and stumps and vines left behind. You'd need the Hulk to dig it all up.  Valley Tree came with their secret weapon (my characterization not theirs) a special machine and got most all the vines, stumps, and roots out by grinding them. Now that all those obstacles to growing healthy plants have been removed, we are now happily free to plant new life there!  Valley Tree's entire staff that worked at our home were so polite and accommodating.  The cleanup after trimming our trees was as good as the quality of their work. Several weeks before, we had made an appt with Valley Tree.  They called, kept the appointment as promised, and were prompt as well.  I'd have to say it was a joy doing business with them. ​We asked an arborist we had consulted a few years ago, to take another look at our "forest",​ which was getting taller and wider. We were concerned about wind damage to property. He recommended Valley Tree as the outfit to address our concerns. John came out, did an assessment and wrote a proposal which we accepted. We love our trees for the shade and privacy they provide. Today, Valley Tree gave our trees a "haircut" which we are confident made our trees more resilient in high winds, and yet left them thinned, but still beautiful. John was up in our 35' trees, secured with ropes, and trimmed the branches away from our house. Some haircuts look terrible and need to grow back before they look good. A good hair stylist understands hair, knows how to cut, and that haircut looks good from the beginning. Valley Tree's arborists left our shorn trees looking really good. I hired them to trim a couple of tall oaks out back, and a Japanese Red Maple and a Japanese LionsHead Maple out front. Jon came with an assistant right on time. I liked that Jon had been the one who gave the estimate, and was the one completing the job. They did a great job and cleaned up well too. He also trimmed up some shrubs and pulled out a dead arborvitae for me. I'm very pleased with their work and would hire again. I found his price reasonable. What can I say about Jon and his crew... they were fantastic! I am so happy that I was referred to them by another company in the island. They were fast, experienced and well equipped with all different types of machines. With all of these qualifications, they gave us a reasonable price. We removed many trees, but one monster tree was the big challenge. One company walked away from the job and another one quoted me a higher price to rent a crane in addition to the labor fee. Jon and his team took care of the monster tree with a better price despite all the difficulties that they faced.
