The only reason why they are getting one less star is because they close so dang early, lol. I actually came to this thrift store after I went to Fresno Auction for an Authentic Hermes Bolide Bag. My $50 did not go far there. Haha. However, it did go far at Valley Veterans Thrift. They are right next to Emerald Thrift Store. They seem small from the outside, but as you walk in, they are extremely big. Not only that, they are very clean and organized. They do have some nice items and i scored a Lee Sands Eel skin purse and little mini bucket bag for only $10 altogether so my $50 budget went far here. They do have Coach, Michael Kors and other items. I saw a Coach Poppy bag (my least favorite style out of coach) for $25, but it was not worth it due to ink stains. I'm on the search for Vintage- not Y2K, but Vintage Vintage Coach bags, but i love all bags. I know when a bag is genuine leather by touch. Definitely a thrift store to check out. read more

I called for a pick up. A living room chair That was in good shape structurally. It needs an addition of fluff in the back cushion (pillow) and a shampoo. The driver refused it because of the back cushion. Do they not rehab furniture anymore? If it had been perfect I wouldn't be donating it! Now it will most likely end up in the landfill. read more

I used to love checking out this downtown thrift store. Since the recent remodel there seems to be a lot less shopping space. The front area has some clothing displays. The furniture in front is also more like a display area now, like in a furniture store. There are still a lot of rows of clothing on hangers. There's not much in the home decor or household/kitchen item categories now. They do have a parking lot now, so you no longer have to feed a meter while you're shopping. read more

First time in and today's special was 25% off all items. I browsed and found some stuff for myself. I had my hands full and was ready to check out. The cashier was leaning at her stand on her phone. Since it was my first time I didn't know where exactly to lay my stuff so I laid it on a case on side of register. Cashier didn't acknowledge me AT ALL so after awhile I gather my stuff and went over to where she was leaning. She didn't acknowledge me and just rang up my stuff and that was the end. Employees are always nice; the store is always neatly organized, and Manny I believe that's his name (owner, Manager, or something of the sort) is always so helpful. If something doesn't have a price he will figure out one for you so that you can take your item and he can continue turning over the product in the store. Many of my best finds are from here. What a Disgrace this company is. I waited 5 days for them to pick up practically a whole contents of a two bedroom two bath house. They arrived and the Two in the truck just Complained about stuff to heavy or wasn't sure if it would sell? I had to go down the street and 5 minutes later I returned and they were gone and they Left Everything???? I will Never Donate Anything to DAV again. read more

I liked the selection available. There is a lot to look through and a wide variety for people with different niche interests. I don't have a great nose, and I went in the winter time so I cannot say anything about smell for people who care so much about whether a thrift shop smells. I found a couple nice pieces, a sweater vest, a car shirt, and a pair of navy dickies pants that were my size. The men's section was a majority of larger sizes in both pants, but pretty spread out size wise for shirts. I'll go again at some point. read more

Books are the only things here that are well organized. But they write prices in permenant marker across the covers, no bueno. It's a very large warehouse type building, and full of stuff. And there are sections of clothing, but nothing very convenient like other thrift stores that put things together by color or size. You have to have a lot of time to really pick through the huge amounts of stuff they have. read more

When in on 1/3/17 to the new "thrift boutique" and had the most frustrating experience with two of their employees. The boutique was very inconsistently priced but I found a few pieces in the back thrift store. They have WAY less clothes than they used to to accommodate the new boutique in from the old store which was a bummer. (PS they still don't have a dressing room. I'm not paying boutique prices for stuff I can't try on). The frustration started when I went to check out. There were two young women at the front. One was trying to check me out and the other was laughing at her failed attempt. The one checking me out didn't know how to use the system and didn't have the password for when she messed up. She asked the other girl multiple times to get (who I assumed was) the manager and they other girl just kept giggling and walking away. The manger finally walked by and put in the password then walked away before the transaction was completed and the check-out girl was still having problems. Then she tried to blame my card and asked me to try another. Ugh. This went on for like 10-15 minutes. I was about ready to walk away when the girl "pushed the right button". Ugh. Not coming back until they train better. read more

This place is outrageously priced. Almost full retail. I like the appearance after the remodel but not worth the added cost to items. There are cabbage patch kids there that have been for months on the shelves. All filthy and stained. They wrote $18.00 on the necks in red grease pen and prices are firm. A wall mirror was $65 dollars. same you could get at ross for $25. A nude baby doll in a tub with other broken toys was $ 40, yes you read that correct. $40! and written on the neck too. Small Stuffed bunnies for easter with tags were $20 dollars each. I dont know who is in charge of their pricing since the remodel but they are using ebay "dream" pricing for reference. The should use SOLD ebay listings or even Goodwill. Their pricing is more realistic pricing. Goodwill used to be the ripoff thrift store and now they dont look so bad. read more

You really learn to appreciate Fresno vintage/thrift stores when you go to bigger towns where everything is expensive, even the vintage/thrift stores. This is probably the best thrift store in this little strip: it is the biggest and probably the cheapest. The back has a bunch of old cheap appliances and electronics. I found some awesome briefcases there and some cassette tape holders that I had been looking for. Stop by when you have time to look around. You will probably find something good! read more

One of my favorite thrift stores in downtown fresno - especially after their remodel, making the shop more open and organized. I've found countless gems from their furniture showroom area. My favorites have been their mid century modern pieces. I enjoy stopping by here every few weeks to see the new inventory. Visit here every once in awhile , always surprised on the amount of people inside, so much stuff in here, from antique to , OMG, that's the same lamp my parents use to have..lol lots of really cool items if your truly looking fir odd or late household items or rustic things! Came in real quick to see what was new. As you walk in you always kind of feel like the place could use some cleaning. Feels a lil dusty-and the goodwill is more organized. The service is usually good. The lines can be long but they can move fast which i appreciate. I see the workers are always doing something and if i have a question they don't hesitate to assist. I go to Amvet to thrift and it does offer a great variety and there's always a sale. Come in and take a peek, i found a small cabinet today and it was super affordable. Thanks for reading! read more

Honestly one of the best thrift stores here in Fresno. The music playing is very modern and fills up the whole store as if you're at a mall. Very well conditioned and pretty clean and organized. They have AMAZING SALES. Like their 65% off everything for about 2-3 weeks is honestly the best. You'll find a lot of great finds there spending less than a dollar to at most $2 each item with discounts like those. Wide selection but no dressing rooms (but trust me you can just do a quick try on right then and there).Totally recommend this store to everyone! -I will be coming here way more.. read more

This is a good location to drop off items for donation and pick up home goods. I liked it because it's right off the 41 and I was able to pull around the back easily to offload my loot for donation. The staff were helpful (both on the phone and when helping me unload). It was cool too because they took a window A/C unit. The person helping me with the donation also made sure I had a receipt for tax purposes. The store itself is nice too; I had previously got a great deal here on a bedside table. read more

Th customers here are vultures. I found four pairs of designer shoes and grabbed them all to put in a basket. One lady saw what I had and asked to see them. Sure why not? She told her other friend who also wanted to see them, sure why not? Then they followed me around for the rest of my shopping time and even got ballsy enough to try and grab a pair out of my cart while I was seaching through frames! Thank god my boyfriend came back and stood gaurd the rest of the time. They have good stuff here if you dig. I came out of there with 8 high end designer items and a $30 bill. Which is not even half the price of one item, but I really had to search. I spent 1hr in there and had to gaurd my stuff the entire time. It was really fun though. I love this place. Every time i go i come out with something. I've found awesome 80's music cd's and vinyl records. As well as home decor stuff. I recently found some awesome black catchall bowls i had been looking for a while for but found to be too expensive in regular stores, well i got them here for $6 bucks! What a find! :D I also love looking through their scarves and bags section, i always find something cute and little bags that i can use for my art supplies. The clothes are a bit dated but hey if you have good sense of style i am sure you can find something and make it work (like Tim Gunn says lol)! Also, i wished there were more shoes, there seems to be only womens shoes. Hmm, oh well. Anyway, check it out! read more

Great prices& great service. I want to give a special shout out to the store Manager Elizabeth for locating my lost wallet. I went in a few days back and lost my wallet. I searched for an hour and she was kind enough to help me and made an announcement on the intercom (upon my request). My wallet at this time was still lost. I went in the following morning and no luck. I left Elizabeth my number just in case by miracle someone would turn it in. Later that morning Elizabeth texted me informing me that my wallet was found. What a relief!!!! Thank you soooo much Elizabeth and Staff, you are all wonderful. I owe you lunch!! and God bless each and every one of you :) I'm a loyal customer for life!!!! read more

This is the worst pricing store ever. They make up there own prices once you walk up to the counter and illegally mark up prices once you have the right price. I asked for a manager and Rita walked up stating that they make there prices once you walk up to the counter. I explained to her that your items needed to be priced accordingly and she stated we know our prices. She then walked to the back and decided to google a higher price to try to put me in my place. Rita, if you don't like your job and are pricing items higher than what they are priced which is illegal. Then maybe you should look for another job, cause that store is meant to help people, not cheat them out of there money. I'm from out of town.. as in five hours away. I decided to go out and explore and a gal at a consignment shop told me about DAV and gave me directions. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!! It's big with A LOT of stuff to look through. I found a bunch of great stuff for stupid cheap and I'm a happy happy girl. I'd have stayed longer but my two year old wasn't havin' it so I'm headin' back next week before I head home. Great place! read more
