I've been going to Emerald Thrift for as long as I can remember. Just tried to donate a piece of furniture there, which they didn't want, fair. They told me that I could leave the piece with the business next door, so I set it down and went to drive around and tell them about it. These two hillbillies started taking pictures of my truck and telling me that they would report me for illegal dumping. So I said never mind and loaded the thing up and drove off. Just a garbage situation from a store I've always loved, by their two bearded Karen employees. Welp, never going there again. read more

Found some fantastic vintage kitchen items here. The prices are very high for a thrift store (in my opinion) but the employee working was incredibly nice to offer me 50% off if I bought everything, so I did. Was a nice gesture that I appreciate. read more

Emerald has been very good at having exactly what I need. I've visited many times because I love a good deal and this place has just that. I came in this last time for some clothing for an 80's party and I found the perfect dress and a skirt for my daughter. They both fit and worked out great, not to mention I got both items for under $5!! Emerald Thrift is one of my favorites and has been my go to Thrift store when I need one. read more

I called this place to pick up some yard sale items that didn't sell. So when he gets here the driver comes out and wants to know if everything was to go. He did not bring anyone else to help him. He proceeded to look around for about 5 seconds and said he couldn't take any of it because it was unsellable. Which was BS because I have two good couches which were covered up so as to not get ruined. There was also some furniture in decent shape. He sounded as though he was looking for brand new items to sell in his THRIFT store. My take is he was just not willing to break a sweat and took the easy way out. After going to four or five thrift stores around town, Emerald was my last stop. All I was looking for was vintage t-shirts and a pair of Levi's, and I found exactly that. Everything is organized, and maintained throughout the store which makes it so easy to find what you're looking for. I got two pairs of Levi's jeans for $4 each, and a vintage PBR Beer shirt for $2. There is no AC in the building, so it does get warm, especially while wearing a mask, but there are fans placed throughout the store to help with that. As far as parking goes, there are smart meters out front now, so if you have the ParkMobile app it makes it really easy. Definitely one of my favorite Downtown thrift stores, and next time I'll trust my gut and go here first! read more

How does one rate a thrift store? It really depends on what you like to buy. Evil does not look for clothes at a thrift store. We find it rather distasteful to wear someone else's discarded clothes. Reading, however, is an Evil past-time. As Evil is a cheap bastard, Evil does not pay retail price for books...we get them at thrift stores and pay no more than $2 for a hard-cover book (paperbacks can suck it!). Emerald Thrift Store has a decent selection of books and the prices aren't too bad, so they get 3 stars. There are few things they can do to add an extra star. For one, they can spray a can of Glade in the store once in a while. Those musty old clothes, combined with the summer heat, makes for a stinky store. Also, it would be great to ask the stalkers to leave. While wandering through the store, Evil noticed an older man (?!?) following him around...staying about 10 feet away, but just staring. We're used to creating that type of behavior in the ladies, but not in freaky looking old geezers...creepy. read more

This store is one of the better thrift stores in Fresno just because there is a great variety of clothes. They usually have good sales going on and I usually always end up walking out with a new clothes item. I probably buy ten percent of my clothes from this place. Thanks! read more

This is a great downtown thrift store that I have found lots of interesting furniture at. I usually stop by once a month to check out their selection. For summer months, I recommend going in the morning hours as it can get very hot inside with no central ac. read more

This place is friggin' huge, man. And all of their clothes are organized by color-type, so if you don't want white or black XL tees from restaurants or casinos you can just skip by them. I saw a lot of that. I found a couple long-sleeved polos and such that I liked, but most of it was either (as previously noted) worn-down shirts and jackets or sizes way too big or small for me. They have a whole lot of other bric-a-brac, but it was mostly household stuff and holiday fare which I wasn't shopping for. read more

I felt uncomfortable in that area of town, where the store is located (uneasy vibes). No A/C, but the fans kept it comfortable. Hardly any customers, I liked the thrift store next door better. I am just in Fresno for a few days, I don't know the area, but my intuition was telling me these stores were not in the best neighborhoods. if you're female, I would go in the afternoon. I did not feel threatened by anyone, but I would not go to that area in the evening. BTW- no parking, so be sure to have change for a parking meter (there was garage parking too). Meters are pretty cheap, 45 min. For .75 cents. I only stayed 20 minutes and that was for both stores. read more

One of my favorite thrift stores! Always great finds. I had to find an outfit for an 80s party and I found it. A few months before I needed some cute modern clothes for work, and I found some. They're great prices. Check for sales. During certain holidays they have 50% off sales. They also have tons of shoes in great condition and hats that are actually clean and wearable. The men's selection is great too! We searched other thrift shops for men's 80s gear and could not find anything. Went to Emerald Thrift and found the perfect outfit for my boyfriend. He also found a bunch of other things he wanted. Another plus, everything is in good condition. I've never found a damaged or stained item in this store which is a hard thing to come by for a thrift store. Would 100% recommend. read more

they came out to pick up over 15 boxes of stuff which when I called I told them it was household stuff, a lot of glassware, a lot of crystal, collectable, and Jeans, slacks and misc clothing which were all washed and ready to hang, Christmas table clothes some still in the packages. so they show up and right away what's in the boxes and started pointing at this and that some of the collector bowls/saucers were too big for any of our boxes, so they said oh we can not take any of these and they left, really. what a bunch of rude ass men . none of the stuff was dirty, broken nor unusable. your rating is a big fat Zero. read more

This is a pretty good store. It has more of a men's selection but still an overall good store. There's tons of shoes and they also have some good sales as well. The only downside is that it is very crowded and squished so you really have to to take your time in searching and it's very stuffy and hot so I recommend to wear something light and go more often in the winter. read more

I love how they color code all of their clothing. It makes looking for a single colored shirt so easy and less stressful. Not much in the brick-brack section (which happens to be my all time favorite part of a thrift store) read more

Great prices and good quality clothes, but I wish the price tag wasn't stapled onto the clothing. I would have walked out with at least 10 pieces of clothing, instead walked out with nothing. The staples ruin the clothing when they are removed. read more

I freakin love this place. It used to be my go-to thrift store when I lived in Fresno. Prices are low and the pickins are plentiful.

This is a good sized thrift store that is well organized, with a big selection of clothing, appliances, shoes, and all the regular stuff you expect to find at a thrift store. The prices are reasonable and you're sure to find something during each visit. My only complaint would be that most of the mens clothing I've found is stained or damaged. They're always my choice thrift store for any donations I have. read more

They have a huge selection of clothes and it is constantly changing. You can find some bargains but mainly just every day stuff at great prices. Very helpful staff. The store could use an airing out, but hey, it's a thrift store. read more
